âHad the Big Yin because I was craving some haggis and needed to fuel up for a big day. Every meat was savory and cooked to perfection. If you're looking for a more well-rounded meal, you may want to get something else as it did end up being quite a bit of meat. The portion sizes are deceptively big for the price, I wasn't even close to getting through it all! The staff was really attentive despite how busy the place was. Would definitely come back to try that Manc Breakfast next time I'm in town.â

âLUPO is one of those special places where you feel instantly teleported to Italy â¨. The atmosphere is warm, the service is friendly, and the food is made with real care. We enjoyed the Bolognese arancini, LUPO pizza, and a side salad, all of which were simple, well-executed, and full of flavour. To drink, we had the house red wine and a Birra Moretti, both classic choices that paired well with our meal. Beyond the great food, LUPO also offers a fantastic selection of baked goodsâperfect for rounding off your meal or taking something home for later. Itâs the kind of place youâll want to return to, not just for the food but for the welcoming experience. A real gem!â

âAbsolutely superb place - set in an old historic bank with plenty of marble lining the walls, this is an iconic location for a meal or simply a drink. The service was second to none. We had a friendly bar tender, Oscar, who just made things easy for us. We had the 2 courses for ÂŁ18.95 menu; effortlessly delicious. Highly recommendâ

âSerendipity played its part. Albrecht was taking us to Nomad for coffee but access was denied as yet another crew was filming in the Northern Quarter. Doubled back to Idle Hands. Had a lovely couple of coffees and cakes. All good. They sell a good breakfast selection for carnivores, veggies and vegans. ( Assuming vegans will share the meat eating space!) Good find Albrecht.â

âvery nice atmosphere! a really chilled place to sit for a coffee/study. Plenty of seating! prices reasonable. Only downsides were that the toilet was quite filthy and my hot drink was given to me in a glass which i had to wait for it to completely cool down as i couldnât physically hold it.â

Fig + Sparrow

âI visited Fig + Sparrow based on the numerous 5* reviews on Google. I came on a Friday at 1pm, and it wasnât too busy. Perhaps 50% of the place was full. There is a good amount of seating available, and when I arrived, there was a small but delicious-looking selection of pastries and bakes on the counter. There is always a wide variety of drinks available on the menu, and a bar at the back which serves savoury food. I asked the lady if the counter items were baked fresh and if they were vegetarian (halal in my case), and she said they were baked fresh, and suitable for vegetarians and halal foodies! The staff were very inviting. The lady explained what each item was, and she even gave me her personal recommendation. 10/10 for such caring staff :) I ordered a Cinnamon Bun and Latte to eat in. Those buns looked too good to overlook. Also, exceptional presentation of all the bakery items. The Cinnamon Bun was delicious! It was sticky, not too sweet, and full of cinnamon and brown sugar flavour. The Latte was also yummy, and had a lovely pattern on top. Overall, I am very happy I visited Fig + Sparrow, and I will definitely bring my friends next time. This place is too good not to share with others! I would highly recommended this place to those who like coffee shops, and just want to sit and chill :Dâ

âHad lovely afternoon tea, maybe should have ordered one to share!! The cafe is quirky but worth a visit. Our only small negative is we wished we had been asked which cake we would like, pistachio is not my thing.â
