What a lovely local gem of a place this is. We were hosted by the charming Simon. I had the Eggs Florentine. Just gorgeous pillows with bright orange melting yolks on fluffy muffins. To top it off lush hollandaise and plenty of it.

We had a Wonderful experience at Riva last Friday night. We enjoyed some Beautiful Wines & a fab dinner and the Team were great.
We went for a selection of nibbles for our starters, Halloumi Fries with chilli jam, rustic bread with olive oil & balsamic & olives and hummus and they were all great.
I chose the Pan Roast French Trim Chicken with greens, fondant potato & red wine jus. The Chicken was beautiful and moist, the fondant potato was probably the best I have had, crispy on the outer & fluffy in the middle and I could have drank the red wine jus it was that tasty!
Mrs K had Roasted squash & wild mushroom strudle & thoroughly enjoyed it. Our friends had the 8oz Riva Burger and loved it although it is quite a size and the Hake which was on the specials board and again beautifully cooked by the Head Chef Daniel.
The wine list is extensive but after chatting with Simon we ordered Baron de Baussac Viognier and Languedoc-Roussilon and they were divine.
I know when you go to a Restaurant you expect great food which we certainly received but I have to say that the service and whole experience was fantastic. The Team were very attentive but also warm and friendly and their care factor was exemplary.
It's great to support a local Business but it is made an awful lot easier when you have such an amazing experience. We will certainly be back!

Great quality food for a more upscale version of a British lunch. The scallops were outstanding so was the T bone steak in particular as cooked to perfection, but was all great. Lovely restaurant in Hale village and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

I'm so glad I booked this place for me and my partner. We'll definitely be going again. We went on Saturday at 6pm and booked a dog-friendly table at the front.
The decor is lovely, the place is clean and inviting and perfect temperature.

I had the beef wellington and my partner had a special of ribeye and eggs with chips. The meat inside the wellington was the most beautiful soft meat I've ever had and my boyfriend said his steak was really nice, it had a smoky flavour. My starter of lamb croquettes was also really nice.
Service was wonderful and attentive without being overbearing and everything came out at perfect times.

I'd give it 100/10 if I could.

The best roast dinner ever. Angela and Oliver were welcoming and attentive. The manager is so welcoming, snd she has such lovely staff. The food was fab. Best in Hale and we've been to all of the others. A hidden gem. If you've never been, your missing a treat. Nice things come in small boxes. Superb in every way
