I have been looking for a farm to take the kids that wouldnt cost a fortune let alone for free, this farm is lovely the animals are well taken care of and are so friendly. My children loved it, they also enjoyed the little play area.
We will definitely be coming again.
Free entry for the Easter open day. Lovely stalls and an egg hunt around the farm. Lots of lovely areas including a kindness garden. Well maintained with cleaning stations dotted throughout. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
Not often you get a day out that doesn't cost the earth these days... let alone free!!
This us a great community initiative and my 2 grandchildren loved it! There's just enough for a couple hours spent amongst nature. We particularly enjoyed the sensory play experience that is gated and secure for little ones!
Got it! Here’s a revised version taking into account that the café was closed during your visit:

Our visit to Greenslate Community Farm in January was delightful. We were thrilled to see donkeys, goats, ferrets, and bunnies. All the animals are lovely and well-cared for.
The farm is well-organized and offers various activities suitable for families. Although the café was closed during our visit, it’s usually available and offers delicious homemade food.
We enjoyed exploring the nature trails and learning about sustainable farming practices. Parking was convenient and easily accessible. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, providing interesting information about the animals and the farm’s mission.
For those planning a visit, I recommend wearing comfortable footwear as the ground can be uneven. It’s also a good idea to bring a waterproof jacket if visiting during the wetter months.
Overall, we had a great time and look forward to visiting again soon. Greenslate Community Farm is a wonderful place to connect with nature and learn about farming in a fun and engaging way.
Really nice place for little ones to see a few animals close up & have a play. The items in the play area are old & they're in need of some new things. Great that it's free if you can't afford a donation. They're also looking for volunteers. Didn’t use the cafe. If anyone can donate any kids kitchens, toys etc get in touch with them please.
