I contacted Paul who owns Yazz Number One Hair Salon in Leeds, to talk about an apprenticeship at the academy and he was instantly receptive to seeing my daughter, if only to restore her confidence which had been utterly destroyed. When we arrived at the academy, the staff who were working with clients on the shop floor, were welcoming, professional and warm. Paul met with my daughter, and the powerful and motivational experience that she received in speaking with him was incredible. Pauls passion for his team, his business and his drive and determination for young people to succeed is so inspiring He explained how the Yazz academy journey worked and how he and his team would excite and drive my daughter to be the best possible version of herself in business. Not only that, he brought his academy team to meet with her, and his team also arranged for her to go and speak to a salon, with a view to starting again. He simply could not have done anymore. My daughter had experienced a really negative start to the apprenticeship experience with a reputable company and we had to remove her from her first placement and go back to the drawing board. Paul and his team have restored the resilience in her that was so sadly taken away from her through mismanagement and she is once again excited for a fresh start.
