I visited for Sunday brunch with my Mum and sisters for my sister's birthday. We were given a very warm, smiley, genuine welcome as soon as we arrived and although we hadn't booked we were taken straight to a table by one of the beautiful picture windows. Our waitress, Christie, introduced herself, took our drinks order , gave us our menus and gave us time to get settled. She also complimented my coat which was very thoughtful. I ordered the 'nojito' a mocktail with ginger, mint and lime which was absolutely delicious. Christie came back and took our food order, I had the small veggie breakfast and my family each had the small breakfast. Christie was happy to accommodate a change to the menu, I requested scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs. It was really nice to see a variety of options on the menu. As I'm veggie I have to choose the vegan option at some restaurants which is fine apart from the fact that I miss out on halloumi! At Bottle and Thyme they have both a veggie and a vegan option which was great. The food was beautifully cooked and well presented. My small veggie breakfast was a veggie sausage, vine tomatoes, scrambled eggs ( by request) on sourdough bread, delicious chestnut mushrooms, handmade rosti, spinach and beans. The beans were thoughtfully presented in a little pot. All parts of my breakfast were tasty and cooked to perfection. The food was light but filling and just the right amount. My family all enjoyed their breakfasts too. I had a pot of green tea afterwards, my Mum had a cappuccino and my sisters had iced coffee and lemonade. We didn't feel at all rushed to finish our drinks and although the restaurant was busy we felt comfortable to take time to enjoy our food. The space is exceptionally well planned. Very light and airy but still feels comfortable and welcoming. Sometimes window seats can be chilly but we were nice and warm even on a cold day. The team were all lovely and made sure we were comfortable and attended to for the duration of our stay. I would highly recommend Bottle and Thyme. We are already planning our next visit and looking forward to trying more of the menu and maybe some cocktails too ( it would be rude not to right?!) I went here today with my mum. The best quiche and slaw EVER. Crumbly pastry, tasty quiche, but the slaw was the best bit. Pomegranate, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, shredded cabbage and a zesty salad dressing. Yummy!! Fabulous service by everyone. Thank you so much! ❤️😀

We booked the Bottle and Thyme for a party of 50+ people, to include a hot buffet. We were not disappointed! The quality of the food provided was outstanding, and plentiful, with plenty of choice for all tastes. The staff were excellent, and could not do enough to help, ensuring plates, cutlery and food was replenished as necessary, also ensuring there was someone serving at the bar. A couple of days later, 4 of us returned for breakfast where once again we experienced a first class service, no delays and delicious, well prepared and presented food. Personally, I recommend the large breakfast, but you will need an appetite to match! I would highly recommend the Bottle and Thyme, and will be returning.

We really enjoyed our meal at Bottle and Thyme. We had 7 small plates between 2 of us on a midweek deal - 3 plates for £18. Every plate was delicious and we were disappointed that we couldn’t manage to finish it all! Service was excellent too. Great quality and value for money

Great pub, had Sunday dinner and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend. Great atmosphere at the outdoor karaoke with some good singers and fab music.

Brilliant pub nice staff and friendly atmosphere you won’t be disappointed best pub in the area in my eyes 10/10 an now does a bigger range of coffee too an they do a awesome Sunday meal an so value for money cooked to perfection 👌🏻 I also noticed they doing cheese cake desert now too check out there Facebook page the landlady makes them fresh on the day an look so lush an mmmm I'm definitely going to try some 😋 update been back many times food is always lovely staff are very friendly and the service was 10/10 rating 😊

(I don't drink - beer, alcohol, etc); so I'm writing on layout a friendliness 1 of the few social areas of of tupton. 🍻 Hospilaity: 5-presuming (I didn't stay long By default, the locals and service staff were very caring for newcomers to the pub. 😊 Layout: 5/5 For a small pub on the quiet side of Tupton. They have made great use of the space provided. Modern decor, pool, outdoor seating, and a projector for football or what else. ⚽️ Note: I only came here looking for dinner. Don't let the food fool you on menu photos. This place does not do pub food; (only on special occasions I presume).

Spent a wonderful valentines evening at the Old post and me and my husband were very impressed. The interior is lovely with a warm and cosy atmosphere. The staff were friendly and very helpful, very attentive but not intrusive. We had a really nice chat with our waitress who gave us lots of information and got us booked in for one of their tasting menu events which I'm really looking forward to. The food was beautiful! High quality and generous portion sizes. We got canapés, starters, sorbet, main, dessert and a lovely box of homemade baileys chocolates to take home. All absolutely delicious! Can't wait to visit again. Perfect for a special occasion or romantic date night.

Beautiful meal, great service from start to finish. We was treated like VIP guests. The meal was so delicious I’d come back to chesterfield, just to come back here, the chef needs a pay rise 😊 and we came from Birmingham, for the week and this place is a real gem, I highly recommend trying it

I've been wanting to visit this restaurant for years but always cried off so since it is now open again my partner and I visited last night. Why have I waited so long is now my cry. It's a fantastic setting for dinner but that belies the quality of the food. We both started with the scallop and chorizo with pea puree, a simple starter but easily spoiled. The scallops were cooked perfectly and it was nice they were served with the roe, the chorizo crisp and with a paprika flavour that goes so well with scallops. The pea puree was as smooth as you could want. Round 1, clean plates! For main course I chose the fillet beef and madam chose the smoked cod loin. My beef was cooked to perfection and she said the cod was the same but with a not overpowering smoking. The little eye-opener on mine was the mushroom pastie that was served with it. My fillet melted in the mouth and both mains were neither too large or too small. Round 2, clean plates. I had a desert but madam chose to just have coffee. I chose the date and hazelnut pudding with a black treacle sauce and ice cream. The pudding was light and full of flavour, the sauce heavy with black treacle went perfectly and the ice cream rounded dessert so well that I only took an after photo. With 2 coffees and a nice bottle of 2016 Rioja and a bill of just over £110 for both of us we will be visiting again, very soon! P.S madam always gets effusive over napkins and I'm pleased to report proper linen used here.

Great pub. Friendly staff and AMAZING food. I recommend the Boston Burger, you will not get a better Burger anywhere else. Totally brilliant. 🍔👏👍.

Visited yesterday evening/night with ‘the’ ladies, after they have refurbished which is still ongoing but not in the main bar area. They are serving food now too and two of our group partook, both had fish, chips and mushy peas, one small one large. Both were lovely, the chips *chefs kiss 💋 crunchy outer and fluffy inside spot on. We met and spoke to both the owners and staff, in fact had an in depth convo with one owner (he may have had a need to escape us ladies 🤭) he was very accommodating, informed us of what they wanted to do, what they had already done and listened to us genXr’s submitting our own advice towards meals, entertainment and social media promotion. Honestly, they all made us feel so welcome, nothing too much and a part of their journey. We will obviously be going again and I have already gushed about it to my friends and relatives 😁 Thank you all at The Batemans Mill

Lovely lil place hidden really but hope all reviews make it a popular visit. Staff very welcoming menu is very tasty well priced family quiz all proceeds are going to a defibrillator for pub brilliant idea in my book all the girls are lovely to speak too and genuine if you're lucky you will be welcomed by a roaring log fire pending season live bands and family quizes and games room soon.

Called in for a bite to eat and was very impressed with the food and service! I had a steak and stilton pie with chips and mushy peas and my partner had a 10oz gammon steak with chips and salad. Love that they are dog friendly and have recommended to family and friends that own dogs! The price was absolutely spot on as well, will definitely be visiting again!

Food was outstanding, all 3 of us had a wonderful meal which was all really tasty, one of the best meals we’ve had in a while and really well presented! Highly recommend this lovely pub! ❤️

arrived 1:15pm on wednesday, the place was almost empty. we ordered the lamb pie paired with a drink. the pie was not come with chips or potatos,.so if you are hungry, you may need to order portion of chips extra. this pair pie and drink, also offer a dessert in £5. they gave me extra custard for the dessert when I asked.

Lovely family get together and enjoyed our meals.

We were served by Jackie (and Connie brought our dessert.) Jackie was very attentive , pleasant, friendly and courteous. She was also very professional and showed attention to detail.

The New Inn is so friendly, and what Dave & Dean have done is bring back a cracking pub to the area. From a warm welcome, a great choice of drinks and amazing food. We ordered off the pizza menu, & were not disappointed. Gone Trufflin' is so unusual & tasty; my empty plate said it all!! With something for everyone, every night of the week; this pub needs to be everyone's local. Definitely a new highlight in the area. 5*

Very good. Quiet on the weekday lunchtime we went, staff were great and our kids were delighted that they got to choose what went on the tv near them (there are many TVs, but with sound off).

This is my absolute favourite pub in the world - the atmosphere inside is second to none if you are looking for an authentic local British pub with great ales - its brewery owned now but the brewer is local, the cherry porter is my favourite!!! Also a great gin selection. Lovely fires in winter and good quality pub food. I love it so much here I had my 40th in their function room and the atmosphere was perfect, very oldy worldly and they couldn’t do enough - even cleaned up the next day!!!! Poets forever 🍻

I stayed for 4 nights over New Year with my daughter and son-in-law and our 4 dogs (2 terriers & 2 Scottish Deerhounds) The staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The beers are "to die for" - do not miss the Plum Porter. The menu is interesting and varied and all of our meals were delicious. Simply it is a fantastic pub to stay in either for a break or as a base for seeing the Peak District. If other Titanic pubs are half this good, I will be visiting each in turn (and I live in S Lanarkshire).

I booked a table for two last night. I'm glad I chose to come to the poets corner it certainly didn't disappoint. I had 8 ounce sirloin steak, chips etc, my partner had the same. We both really enjoyed the meal, the steak was cooked to perfection just how we ordered it. There was a lovely hot fire, nothing was too much trouble for the girl who was waiting on, we were made very welcome. The only thing they could improve on is they need larger plates, which we told the waitress. Me and my partner will definitely be back soon, I can fully recommend this place to anyone.

Pizza with the Grinch for Chesterfield FC Pan Disability group. Massive thankyou to all the staff especially the Grinch for making this event happen. Children with additional needs don't always get to enjoy these types of events but you guys made this work and we cannot thankyou enough. The parents enjoyed breakfast while the children had fun making pizza with the Grinch then sitting down together to eat them. Thankyou so much. I would definitely recommend the Six Haults to friends and families and look forward to the next visit 😊

Brilliant food and brilliant service with a great variety of food for celiacs. The staff are amazing, kat always goes above and beyond for her customers, nothing is too much trouble, my little boy adores her. Would highly recommend the pizzas, hot dog & fish and chips.

I came here with my friends the other day, it’s the first time I’ve been. It was nice and chilled and not too busy. We stayed for a few hours and the food was nice. The staff were lovely and friendly. One lady in particular was very attentive and never stopped rushing around to accommodate everyone! It’s not often you see staff on the go like this! She was small with curly light and dark hair. Will definitely come back! Thankyou!

I have been working in the area for 6 months and often driven past here and popped in for a meal for the first time yesterday. I found the staff very welcoming and friendly and was pleased to see a good variety on the menu. The food is reasonably priced and I did not have to wait to long for my food to arrive, the meal was very good standard and overall it was a very enjoyable experience

Great place, however I couldn't get into the car park because of the very large speed bumps so had to park on the road parallel.

Served in peaceful and pretty surroundings, Smithy Pond is a great place to visit. They show live football too, but in a friendly atmosphere. The staff are amazing, from the manager leading from the front to the young lady with the dark hair wearing Guinness 0.0 t shirt, really friendly and attentive. The lady working behind the bar with blonde hair and glasses was amazing too. Furniture a little worn and mismatched but it's not that important, drinks typically greene king overpriced. Good food, really good in fact. Some different dishes that you don't get in normal greene kings. Won't hesitate to return. The food also came out quick, was fresh, hot and tasty. Will definitely be back!
