Re-review Massive appreciation to the manager Cheryl showing me concerns of the quality of my stay, testament to her dedication to the trade! To clarify my original post - the bedding and room had definately been cleaned and changed but the steamer was broken so the wrinkles were not ironed out. Totally understandable and Cheryl considered perhaps tucking the sheets in for a neater look. The faint smell couldn't really be explained, could only put it to being a people smell? But not a reflection of cleanliness of the place. The tea tray was intact super brand new that the residue I found was in fact the glue tack thing for labels(?) Bed and bedding SUPER comfortable. Bottles of water provided as a considerate extra, greatly appreciated Great choice of food from the restaurant and cozy atmosphere with the open fireplace. Overall I chose to change my review from 3 stars to 5 as Cheryl showed me genuine care of my thoughts. It's all about hospitality! Definitely recommend visiting and staying. Original post: Pros: Bed had a nice mattress topper, felt very comfortable. All basic amenities provided. Very friendly staff Cons: I don't think my bedding was changed since the last guest - there was a very slight lingering smell of a person on the pillows, once flipped, it sort of eased. The duvet cover was not ironed or tucked in - making it look used. The tea coffee facility - a little dusty, no real attention to detail there almost bordering on neglectful.

The Mill Wheel is my second visit to this pub and so far has not been disappointing. The atmosphere is one of welcoming and wonderful bar staff. Food was excellent although only complaint was we were expecting to have the amazing carvery cobs, but unfortunately they changed the menu. But what we had was amazing I had ordered the Fish Goujons with salad and tartar sauce on Ciabatta, my brother in law had the Stilton and Steak on Ciabatta bread, and my sister had the Cheese and ham. Very tasty and certainly worth the money. Staff were professional and courteous in the service, and such a wonderful place. I give it a full rating.

Absolutely love this place - everything about it is amazing. Firstly - the food was cooked to perfection - definitely the best burger all of us have ever had, and we’ve tried a lot of places! The kids meals come in a cute car with a free drink, a lovely touch which made my toddler go “wow”. The service was fantastic. There is a unique charm to the place - I felt like we were in America! We can’t wait to return to this gem again soon. I’d definitely recommend booking as it gets very busy :)

We came here for breakfast.... we came back again for dinner! Loved it. Great food and shakes. Staff lovely and hard working. Lovely quirky little place. . Will definitely be back again! Lots of choice for vegan/vegetarians and the lady asked if we had any allergies.

I’ve always been curious to try this place and it truly felt like stepping back into the States! From the US memorabilia lining the walls to the classic American tunes playing in the background, the atmosphere was spot-on. My partner and I started with bottomless coffees (a very American touch) and for breakfast, I went all-in with the All American. It came loaded with a sausage patty, crispy smoked streaky bacon, two fried eggs, tater tots, Boston beans and pancakes with maple syrup. I even added a side of mushrooms (for health obviously) My partner opted for pancakes with bacon and maple syrup — simple but generous! The portions were huge, in true American fashion and for the price, it’s fantastic value. We were full for the rest of the day. Both breakfasts were absolutely delicious, and we’re already planning to come back for an evening visit next time. Highly recommend!

Great menu selection. Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Grandkids loved it, their food came in a cardboard car and they thought the millshakes were amazing!!! Food was delicious and we had to take some of it home. Would deffo reccomend and we'll go back.

We had an amazing meal today, first time back in a few years and we'll certainly be returning. Really great service from Mara! Highly recommend!

A really nice pub with a cosy and welcoming feel. A dog friendly pub, that even has a dog chew menu. Food was excellent and very tasty. Service was superb (especially Lily). Plenty of parking too.

Came here last night and the food and service were absolutely incredible. Pie Wednesday was definitely a high light and so delicious! We had an amazing meal and so so filling wish we had room for dessert. Definitely a must visit!

Whoever thought of a roast dinner in a roll is a genius!!! This meal was 5 star amazing….! It was also boiling hot ! Which I have always found never happens with Sunday roast ! Pet hate ! The team here thank you we are just visiting but it was an excellent find 🙌

Me and my partner recently visited while staying at Steam Mill Lodges as recommended by the owner, we were definitely not disappointed, the steak was absolutely perfect ,Aswell as the portion size , the staff members Nathan and and lady who kept checking on us were great also , we will definitely be visiting again thank you 🙏

Visited for my 50th birthday brunch. Could not fault any of the components. Food was 100%, service was 100%. Cocktails were 100%. We will definitely be back another time and can 100% recommend the bottomless brunch ❤️🍹 Was taken here as a surprise Mother's Day breakfast this morning, beautiful is the only word I can use. Staff amazing, food amazing 😍

Very nice, good food and drinks. Boutique cocktails are expensive, as can be expected, but they are very nice and there are plenty of other drinks on offer. Food is good, haven't tried the pizza yet but hope to soon! Roast dinner and BBQ meals are very nice as well, just need to add some bread I think.

My friends and I visited here recently and it’s a very nice place to go. Firstly, the views from the upstairs seating area are incredible! Absolutely loved sitting at our table and watching the sunset. Also, the staff were excellent. They could not be faulted! They were attentive without being overbearing and I was so impressed that they took our order without the aid of a notepad! I wish I had that type of memory. Overall, the food that we ordered was incredible, however I I have walked down have marked down by one point as the burger I ordered seem to be very different than the one on the menu. I did not receive the pretzel bun as stated, and just got a normal bun, also there was shredded onion on the bottom of the burger which was not listed on the menu and I am not a fan of onion. Also I which that there was some sort of rice on the menu or fries but that is personal preference. On to the cost: for me I found it slightly pricey for a weekday meal out however for special occasions or a great night out with friends this location would be perfect! I would definitely return and look forward to doing so

Very very busy but expected for " mothers day " very helpful staff and glad we pre-booked the table . Great choice and wide menu to pick from ? If you have people who never know what to order " try them here " lol Try and book in advance , it's the best thing to do ! The carvery was unbelievable " the beef and Turkey were so moist " we had a standard plate and it was amazing with 6 different veg , roast potatoes , creamy mash , stuffing balls and big Yorkshire pudding ! Had a big family dinner there today and the place and staff was amazing 👏 great food ! Haven't been for a while but you still need to book to guarantee a table if there's more than four. Service was good and only ordered off the menu " still good food " friendly and helpful staff. Went again on a Wednesday evening but needed to book and the staff are still helpful and friendly , the food was good 👍

Went for a pre wedding get-together. Had a little area reserved, which was nice. Good choices on the menu at reasonable prices. Ordered pizza, which did take more time but I think that was to do with being made in a pizza oven. It was worth the wait and all the other food looked good too. I don't live near it so I probably won't be back but I would go again if I did.

Small little pub but the staff were lovely on New Year’s Day. They were busy but went through customers really fast and always really helpful when serving you. Very polite. I love it and would come back again.

Lovely atmosphere with the new owners. Super friendly and welcoming. Had Sunday dinner here tonight and food was delicious. Top standard. Veg was crunchy and not soggy like lots of places. Meat cooked just perfect (beef and pork options had today) Desserts enjoyed by my 3 - clean plates all round. We have enjoyed it that much have booked for Christmas Day. Words from my food fussy 8 year old. 5 stars!

Had lovely service from two bar staff yesterday, Nic and Natasha. Their service was quick, professional and delightful. Down to earth people with exceptional social skills. I would happily return in the summer for more drinks.

Came in this Thursday evening (12.06.25) The staff were lovely, the food was great however I didn’t really enjoy it much because the server Blonde Hair server smelt soooooooo bad. It gave me a real headache and it was pungent, but Honestly other than that it was lovely!

Staff were brilliant, could fault them at all. Food was quick considering it was quite busy, good portion size and tasty. Love the fact there is games for the children so adults can relax. The toilets need some attention, toilet seats hanging off and all very dirty. Definitely will return.

Lovely meal, staff really friendly and we're happy to swap my breakfast gravy for regular when I didn't like it, lovely and quiet on a Monday evening

As a couple we we're seated in an area with a lot of kids and families, it wasn't too loud but the kids were running past the tables and nearly knocked a drink off of ours. If we had asked to move, I do think they would have gladly moved us! Staff were amazing, food was amazing! And really speedy, especially for a busy Saturday!
