âWow! Caught a last minute booking for the ten course - yes TEN - tasting menu. Fab-u-lous! Something so wrong yet right about starting with the unmistakable taste of a Big Mac from the first course but we then cantered through so many creative and sumptuous dishes, each painstakingly presented and introduced by her enthusiastic and friendly team. Start with a cocktail and then enjoy taking your time with the wide choice of wines to suit all tastes (and budgets). We went with a Montrachet as it was a special occasion and the food deserved a wine to match. But please donât make a reservation - it was hard enough to get one this time!â

âWhat can I say but this was fabulous. Service was outstanding and the dishes were superb and well presented. Flights were excellent and complimented the dishes extremely well. The team and service were exceptional. The only down side for us was the table placement . In the middle of the restaurant, not very intimate and a lot of through traffic.â

âNew Head Chef and new menus. We booked for his second evening service. It's a set menu of 2 course ÂŁ38 or 3 course ÂŁ45. With lovely homemade bread and butter to start. For starters we chose the Chicken Terrine and Joe's hand dived scallops which were absolutely delishes. Mains were Cornish Cod,Brassicas,Chard,Smoked Roe. Beef loin & cheek, Celeriac, White onion. A dessert of Chocolate ,70% Valrhona Chocolate, Espresso, Clotted Cream. And a delightlighfully large plate of cheeses. The menu will change depending on what fresh local produce is delivered. The food was perfectly executed, as expected from a young talented chef such as Adam.It was great to meet him again and to see him back in action. Staff were pleasant and professional. The pub is part of Berkeley Inns, which is a small pub group with some other great venues. They are clearly aiming high with this new head chef appointment for their casual fine dining. We'll look forward to see how they develop and the word gets out. Future awards and accolades are on the horizon for sure.â

âMy partner and I rang up to book a table late on bank holiday Sunday and luckily they squeezed us in. First time visiting and it is a lovely setting a small restaurant, it doesn't have much branding on the outside but looks like they have a lot of regulars! Staff were lovely prices were very reasonable and the food was lush! Good portion sizes too! My only quarrel is that the steak cheese burger I had said it was American cheese but it was more of a sauce (see in my photo) than a cheese slice which wasn't to my taste but that is more of a preference and just something I thought I'd make people aware of. Lovely restaurant!â

âWow, what an absolute hidden gem of a place. Only found this by looking on Google Maps for somewhere different..... Just had the most amazing 3 course meal with perfectly cooked fresh food, superb pigeon and creamy mushrooms on sourdough to start along with a lovely 10oz Steak with a portion of their home made black pudding and a lovely steak and ale pie, I meant to ask if they sell that BP to take away as was superb. All complimented with lovely desserts in a really nice atmosphere with plenty of space around the tables, all freshly decorated. Really friendly staff too. Definitely one to return to.â

âFood was brilliant a lot more authentic than we thought it would be. Better than a traditional takeaway.Good value too. Bar man was not friendly sadly. Maybe because we aren't locals as he was having good banter with what looked like regular customers. The young lad serving the food was lovely and friendly.â

âWhat a great pub...ordered a pint and asked about staying over in my campervan. They said absolutely no problem, so I booked a table and had an amazing curry. Its dog friendly, and they open at 8 in the morning for breakfast. Highly recommended!â
