“A beautiful hidden gem in Derby! Have had the pleasure of visiting Lorentes in both the summer, sat al fresco by the river and recently this winter, sat in the cosy indoors. The ambience of this place is so lovely and quaint, in a pretty location right by the river and park. It’s difficult to find good tapas in the UK, but this is some of the best I’ve had. Standouts were the sangria, patatas bravas, fried aubergine, the mushrooms and toasted bread. Will be taking many people here ❤️”

“Me and my wife travelled from Ironbridge Shropshire up to see one of The National Trust places in the area.Calke Abbey. Because we had nearly a two hour drive home, we decided to call into one of the local pubs in the town of Repton. First impression was there was limited parking, so we parked a few streets away in a public car park. But upon entering the pub we realised this was a busy food pub .And, the bar person said they had no availability in the restaurant .But we were able to dine in the bar. We were impressed with the menu. I had the panfried fish, and my wife had the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with all the vegetables. We can say this was fine dining without it being protentous. Our meals were cooked to perfection. We had dessert too and again they were excellent. We did not stay here in one of the rooms .However, if we are ever up in that part of the world again ,we will definitely call in again.”

“The Mill Wheel is my second visit to this pub and so far has not been disappointing. The atmosphere is one of welcoming and wonderful bar staff. Food was excellent although only complaint was we were expecting to have the amazing carvery cobs, but unfortunately they changed the menu. But what we had was amazing I had ordered the Fish Goujons with salad and tartar sauce on Ciabatta, my brother in law had the Stilton and Steak on Ciabatta bread, and my sister had the Cheese and ham. Very tasty and certainly worth the money. Staff were professional and courteous in the service, and such a wonderful place. I give it a full rating.”

“Over my previous visits to this place, I felt it had somewhat lost its identity. It was a pub, but trying to be a restaurant and going in for just a drink felt a bit marginalised. I was therefore pleasantly surprised during this visit. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. It was a lovely evening, and we sat outside in the sun. Would have stayed for longer if I didn't have the car.”

“The Dragon is my local watering hole but I’ve never had breakfast here so thought I’d give it a try. Definitely did not disappoint! I had the full English breakfast that came with Butcher's country sausage, bacon, black pudding, hash browns, baked beans, tomato, field mushroom, free range eggs, served with a choice of granary or white farmhouse toast and my partner had the Bacon Maple Pancakes with a couple of hash browns on the side. We both also had a latte, freshly squeezed Orange juice and a smoothie (Blueberry flax) to go along with it. Overall great experience here at the Dragon and will definitely come back again for another breakfast.”

“A very good carvery at a very reasonable price. Ample vegetables to accompany. We have paid several visits over the years since it opened and never been disappointed. A good selection is also available on the main menu. A Weekday visit, we have found is more to our liking as not too busy. The tables are slightly more crowded in the main dining area makes it slightly less enjoyable when completely packed. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. There are QR Codes on the table where you can add an app to your phone and with your table number order your food. However, mobile signals are often weak at this location, making difficult. It wasn’t a problem as you can still order old school by going to the counter. Customer service has always been the best.”
