My boyfriend treated me to a lovely meal here on Valentines Day. I saw the reviews were good here but it was even better than I could have imagined. You employ great staff here which you should be proud of, they were very friendly and attentive which made the experience a really positive one. The food was incredibly good, we were in food heaven! Compliments to the chef! We both had a wonderful evening and hope to return for another date night. 😊

Absolutely incredible tapas, served in proper terracotta crockery. Fantastic wine selection to compliment. Service 10/10. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Beautiful setting overlooking Mercia marina with fabulous sunset views. Definitely will be returning soon to try more of their delicious food. A perfect date night and ambience. A must try if you're in the area!

I was lucky to be invited to the launch evening. The setting of the restaurant is lovely, downstairs bar with plenty of seating and overlooking the marina, upstairs restaurant with another bar and open kitchen. The selection of drinks especially cocktails were amazing and the presentation lovely. The food was perfect, my personal favourites being the steak, meatballs, and calamari. Shout out to Charlotte who served us all evening, great friendly service, ask her for any recommendations on the menu as she is very knowledgable! Overall a great experience and i will be back!

This is a really great, new spot! The restaurant itself is spacious and has a very modern, laid-back ambience. The tapas were absolutely delicious and there were a wide variety to choose from that pleased everyone. The cocktail menu was very appealing, I had a White Russian which was the most mouthwatering blend of punchy and creamy, without being overpowering. The staff were super attentive, welcoming and helpful. They ensured that everything was spot on and you can tell they worked well as a team. We never felt awkward asking for something and the service was incredibly efficient. This is a fantastic place for a casual meal with friends or a date night! I wish I had taken more photos of the food to share but I was too busy eating it!

On the 1st of November I had the most incredible 40th birthday party at La Rock. Daiva, Nick and all of the staff absolutely blew myself, my husband and all of the guests away with their exceptional standard of service. Now as regular customers we are used to their high standards but with 55 guests, nearly all of which were drinking they made sure everyone was attended to leaving everyone as impressed as we always are. There was never a queue at the bar, the food was incredible and the way they constantly checked in with me to make sure I was enjoying myself and everything was ok just added to the whole experience. I have the most ridiculously long list of foods I have to avoid and this never seems to be a problem. No matter how complex this gets they take it in their stride and serve me with dishes that look as good as every other guests. Their relaxed and calm manner helped when at times the night became quite overwhelming. I really can not recommend them more highly ❤️

The most consistent food and service you could hope for anywhere in Nottingham. The team are wonderful, the atmosphere is very chilled and the food is exceptional.

Really enjoyable and I would love to come back. The staff are great. The food is delicious with a relatively simple menu, it hits the spot for the price. Things were perfectly cooked and the amuse-bouche between courses was an amazing little treat. I had the tortellini smoked chicken for starters and the beef fillet for mains. It was delicious. My partner was not drinking and there was a great selection of non alcoholic drinks. Over all a great experience I would want to do again. You should book before you come.

I went here this afternoon with my friend. From the moment you walk in the door you feel welcomed. I always rate a place on it's service, because of a lot of places nowadays do not seem to care. But trust me, they do here. Through the whole meal you never have to want for anything. We decided to have the three course meal. They fill it with lots of little surprises all the way through. We'd had two little mouthfuls of delight before we even had the starter. The meal just went on to be one of best I've had. I like wine and they had a perfect glass to go with every dish. Im going to recommend I know to go here. Its proper classic dining but without the price tag.

My partner and I had a wonderful experience here last night celebrating a belated anniversary. The food was incredible - our particular favourites were the 4 courses to start and the two desserts, but we weren’t disappointed with even one dish. The service was another highlight, everyone was very attentive and polite, however one of the service staff in particular (I apologise for not remembering her name!) went above and beyond with her drink recommendations, her attitude and conversation, answering any questions we had, and thoroughly helped elevate our experience even more! I cannot wait to come back again to try their different seasonal menus, this has been a real find and I really hope they get their Michelin star soon as they really deserve it. Our second time here, first time trying the grazing menu. Food was absolutely outstanding. Louis made our experience special and memorable. Sam and Sadie were very efficient too. Totally recommended. Big thank you for our Instagram competition prize.

Had an excellent meal last night, staff were attentive but not intrusive. Drinks are fairly priced and they have a selection of local ales. Food from the grazing menu was excellent on every front. The notables were the cote du boef which was well worth the £40 charged and the blue Monday dessert which is blue cheese and a honey & ginger pastry. Spent £200 on a meal for two, so not an every week establishment but great for a treat. Definitely would come again as menu changes regularly.

Lovely! Went for our annual Birthday taster menu and it was great as always. Got to try a few things we'd never had before. A few items were quite salty which was such a shame but the puddings as always were th best part!

Such a fantastic find, food and service were excellent. The wine pairing with the meal was well explained throughout and nothing was too much trouble for the waitress. Would definitely visit again and exceptional value for money.

What a fantastic dining experience. We went for the 8 course tasting menu with wine pairing. We thought it was excellent value at £75pp & £45 for the wine. It had a different wine for all 8 courses. A nice touch was a menu for the complementary canapés. The stand out dishes for me was the halloumi canapé and salmon tartar 😍. Hubby’s star dishes were the ham hock terrine & strawberry parfait. He also loved both canapé’s & homemade sourdough and butters. Waiting staff were great, loved it & will be back!

Went here based on reviews & wow wasn’t disappointed. Without a doubt the BEST carvery I’ve ever had!!! Staff all lovely, place itself really nice, will definitely be going back.

I went to this place only for a drink as I was too late for food however, the service was great staff was friendly and so was the pint I shall be going back in the warmer seasons to do a proper review

Tried this place after hearing positive reviews, I was not disappointed! Great selection of meat & veg oh & beer 😋. Reasonably priced, friendly service, lovely traditional country pub. Highly recommend booking to avoid disappointment. Deffo be back 👌🏻

We came here to try the weekday lunchtime carvery after reading good reviews, and we were not disappointed! At £13.50pp it was priced favourably and had a choice of 2 meats although we were informed that it’s usually 1. We went for a mix of pork and beef which was spot on, combined with a Yorkshire pudding,stuffing, roast potatoes, and a great choice of perfectly cooked vegetables, and tasty gravy, made for a cracking meal. The draught Bass was perfect too so all good in my book! Our only gripe was that we were seated near a window and as the weather was hovering around freezing it was a bit cool, but really that is our fault as we couldn’t be bothered to ask to be moved. On our way out we noticed the snug room with a roaring fire so should have gone in there! We will definitely be returning in the near future for another lovely carvery👍 We will certainly be back

What a wonderful place for me to enjoy my very 1st pint during my very 1st visit to England!! If you're looking for an AUTHENTIC pub in the UK with all the trimmings (good beer, spirits, atmosphere, and most importantly good people!) then this is the place you must see. I was sad to leave to come back to the states because I loved this place so much

Favourite pub to visit after a Sunday walk around Calke Abbey. Always a fire in the grate on cold or chilly days. Dogs very welcome.

If you think of the perfect English pub, this is the place. Such lovely owners, not overpriced, cosy, lots of lovely welcoming locals! Love this place!

A lovely traditional village pub. We called in after a visit to Calke Abbey, we weren't sure if food was available but were served some great sandwiches to go with our drinks. A pity we don't live closer!

We went as a post-Valentines date and sat upstairs. It was lovely although super busy, as expected. The service was immaculate, I wish I could remember the servers name :( but she was absolutely fab! We love the Chilled Pubs as food always pleases and atmosphere is always top tier.

I recently visited on a Saturday lunch time. Book a table as it gets busy! I went for a wood fired pizza (half Iowa half vegas) 3 prawns is kinda tight for a pizza this size but never mind. The pizza was a little ‘overdone’ for me too unfortunately. The edges were really crispy but some people like it like that I guess. The pit burger was really good. The chips were chunky and delicious. The onion rings are MASSIVE and good value. You can order quickly on the app which is handy. Overall a good value for money tasty gastro pub. Parking is a problem. It’s no where near enough parking for the size of the restaurant. I saw a lady park and then cross the road to a hairdressers. Bulls head, maybe charge £5/10 for parking and take it off the bill to stop it being used for other local businesses? (If it’s solely a bulls head car park that is!?) I own these photos.

What a place!! My friend had already been here previously, but I had not. So, we decided to book a table for Saturday evening for dinner. The outside was very inviting, and located in the quaint village of Repton. Walking through the entrance and down to the main door, it felt as though I was stepping into another world almost, with the foliage all around and the lights leading the way. It didn't take long at all, for us to be seated by our waitress (actually got there a bit earlier than we thought, and were seated straight away!) We were by the open fire, where the pizza oven was so were toasty and warm! First impressions upon entering the inside of The Bull's Head... Wow! The lighting and the atmosphere were superb, and offered a very cosy place to catch up with family and friends, over drinks and delicious food. Speaking of, the selection on the menu was also impressive, with something to cater for everyone's taste buds. They had things ranging from burgers to steak, pasta and pizza to yakitori sticks... The works! And they had a fantastic selection of starters too, to get those taste buds going. For drinks, my friend went with a beer and I decided on a refreshing homemade raspberry- ade. For our mains, my friend decided on the big BBQ chicken yakitori stick with two sides (the thick chips and onion rings.) I went with the potato gnocchi with a side of posh chips. The gnocchi was super tasteful and very creamy, with all the flavours coming together to excite the senses. And the posh chips!? My word, they were MARVELLOUS! The combination of parmesan and truffle was exquisite and created a pot of super delicious potato goodness (even now, my mouth is watering!) It may not be cheap, but the prices are worth it because I feel you get a LOT for your money. After dinner, we decided that we had room for some dessert. My friend went with the choccy-woccy-hoo-har and chose the Baileys stick toffee pudding. The only thing I have to note here, is that we both ordered our desserts at the same time. However, my friend's dessert came out and he had finished his way before mine came out. I had to politely approach one of the waitresses, stating that my dessert had not arrived. There was a bit more of a wait, but it did finally come out. I know this is no fault of the staff however, and more than likely a tech issue (with everything being ordered on the app.) These things are bound to happen at times and the chap who brought it out to me, apologised about the wait, so no harm done. Overall, my experience of The Bull's Head was excellent and I would not hesitate to come here again, or even recommend it to others. It's a place to go with friends and family, enjoy delicious food and a warm and cosy atmosphere. Being able to order everything from the app, is a great convenience too! I very much look forward to returning again in the future!

I really enjoyed our visit to the bulls head. The mocktails were the best I’ve ever had! The food was really delicious, especially the pizzas. The atmosphere is also really good. Will definitely be returning soon!

I was greeted and given a spot for my campervan next to the pub garden to park up; very level and quiet. I had a very friendly welcome and the meal was delicious - seafood linguine with a very rich, creamy sauce. A TV had been installed for the Rugby 6 Nations tournament, and I was told it only comes out for certain sporting events, so I suggest checking if you want to watch something specific.

Our first visit after a recommendation. We were there for Sunday lunch and ate in the bar so our dog could join us. I’ve got to say this was the best Sunday lunch I’ve ever eaten (sorry Mum) My son and I had the beef and it was beautiful - wonderful taste and really well cooked. My wife had the nut roast (which I also tasted) It was really tasty too. The vegetables were plentiful, and well seasoned, the gravy rich and deep and the yorkshires, perfect. The service was absolutely first rate a friendly, enthusiastic and professional. We all really enjoyed it and will definitely return. Bravo!!!

Excellent first visit. The Sunday lunch was the best I had eaten in a long time. The cheese board was very enjoyable and the selection of wines and beers was very good. For a cosy country pub this will be hard to beat

Excellent carvery. food fresh and refreshed regularly, a lot of customers (reservations advisable especially more than 2-4 people or a popular time) - no hard roast potatoes or vegetables dried out on the carvery buffet. Good beer choice. We have eaten here several times, consistently excellent. Lakeside outdoor tables very pleasant in summer. Exceptionally good customer staff, considerate and good at anticipating needs of customers including older and with disabilities. Steps inside, best to reserve in advance if applicable.

I can not fault this establishment. We came this week for our 5 year anniversary meal, we hadn't ever been to eat here before, and I was dubious, I was very pleasantly surprised. My partner sure did choose a good place to eat (for once). I had the mushrooms to start with sourdough it was by far the nicest mushroom starter I have tasted. I then ordered the steak with homemade chunky chips, mushroom and side salad, with a side order of onion rings. The steak was a little over cooked I asked for R but it was more MR. But the whole dish outweighed that slight error. The CHIPS are by far the best chips I've ever tasted at any restaurant. And those onion rings.... Well..... I was shocked to say the least absolutely fantastic. I was so full but I couldn't stop eating. We even had desert. Thankyou for such a lovely feast. Well recommend this place to absolutely anyone and everyone. Compliments to the chef.

The ultimate carvery. Superb service, lovely setting and amazing food. The meats are delicious. Chef is clearly proud of the food on offer. Veg is equally superb. Puddings were also great. Totally recommend. You'll struggle to get a roast dinner as good as this. Deserves every award it has achieved. Staff are really friendly too.

I was here with my family for a funeral wake though I would definitely use this place as a local to eat and drink. Beautiful pub and set in beautiful grounds with a fishing lake, staff were friendly and polite a credit to the pub. Thank for a wonderful afternoon.

Loved this restaurant. Have been a firm favourite of Lorentes in Derby City for years so knew the food would be amazing but this location ticked all the boxes. Absolutely fabulous

Great place. We've been to Lorentes in derby centre in the past, but this was the first time at Darley Mills. Same quality food but a bit more spacious. All of the food is good. We ordered 3 or 4 dishes per person.

A beautiful hidden gem in Derby! Have had the pleasure of visiting Lorentes in both the summer, sat al fresco by the river and recently this winter, sat in the cosy indoors. The ambience of this place is so lovely and quaint, in a pretty location right by the river and park. It’s difficult to find good tapas in the UK, but this is some of the best I’ve had. Standouts were the sangria, patatas bravas, fried aubergine, the mushrooms and toasted bread. Will be taking many people here ❤️
