This was our second visit to the Barrel Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed our fist stay 3 years ago, this time we were extremely pleased with the rooms and food quality. All the staff are courteous, friendly and professional, nothing is too much trouble. The evening meal menu is great and the meals themselves are top quality. The breakfast is of 5 star quality. The Barrel is in an excellent location for visiting all parts of Derbyshire with many circular walks in the locality. We will be back next spring! Well worth visiting the Barrel Inn even if it's just to enjoy the stunning views it commands. I came with a group for an evening meal. Food portions were more than enough. Fellow eaters chose various options from the menu including fish, shepherds pie, steak pie, risotto. All were happy with the quality and service.

Just returned home after a few nights stay at the Barrel Inn . Its location is perfect , but most of all the staff are all very professional and friendly. The room I stayed in (pin Room ) was small but spotless. The food was excellent.especially the breakfast.I have to say , I had the lamb rump and it was one of the best meals I’ve had ever had .both my colleague and I had a great time and would highly recommend the Barrel for a visit or a stay .

First time to the Peak District. Stayed for two nights. We were walking out towards Hope and Mam Tor one day. And the next day to Monsal trail and back. Great location for long walks. Parking was fine. Room was clean and tidy and had a good amount of essentials like tea, coffee etc. Breakfast was included and was of good quality. We also had drinks and evening meals too - all very well cooked and comparable prices to other pubs in the area. Friendly bar staff/team. Would definitely stay again.
