Such a fantastic find, food and service were excellent. The wine pairing with the meal was well explained throughout and nothing was too much trouble for the waitress. Would definitely visit again and exceptional value for money.

Lovely! Went for our annual Birthday taster menu and it was great as always. Got to try a few things we'd never had before. A few items were quite salty which was such a shame but the puddings as always were th best part!

It was the lads Christmas party and decided to come to the Bull Shed for our meal. The food was delicious and the ambiance was lively. Although we had to wait between courses, we had a lot of catching up to do. The lamb chop was worth that wait.

An out of the way place in a beautiful location - unique, quirky and very welcoming. Pre-ordering makes the service very efficient. Great food. Bought goats cheese to enjoy at home which had a subtle flavour and was delicious. Overall experience highly recommended. Thank you to all the staff.

Had a fantastic experience at The Family Tree! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a lovely countryside charm. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and generously portioned. We stopped here for breakfast on our way to the Tramway Museum. It had a welcoming and cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was delicious and it was nice to have beans and hash brown bites with the omelette to make it feel like a full meal. I originally ordered a chai latte but it was far too sweet for me to drink, I ask to swap it with another hot drink and this was done with no problem and at no extra charge. We will definitely be returning.

Popped in with the missus for a spot of lunch, which quickly escalated into a dining delight! I chose the bagels with smoked salmon, and she chose poached eggs on toast with crushed avocado. Both meals were absolutely perfect, great textures, balance of flavours, and the portions were both generous and very reasonably priced. Touches like a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, and a seeded bagel, rather than a plain one, just shows the level of care and attention put into their food. Throw in some fresh spinach and eggs cooked to perfection, what more could you want?Cake! That’s what!! Even though we were both full, we simply couldn’t leave without a couple of the cakes on display, they simply looked amazing. And they were! Thoroughly recommend these lovely people, the fantastic food, great location, and one more bonus…they allow dogs, which meant we got a bit of a doggo fix too!! Brilliant 👍

Nachos to share, chicken souvlaki and Timothy Taylor bitter. Super clean and modern pub with very pleasant and helpful staff. Lumsdale waterfall is about a mile away so it's a win win!

The ultimate combination of food and drink. Timmy Taylor and steak and ale pie. Right proper. The service was delivered by a team of super efficient young ladies. The pie, such a small word for this culinary masterpiece, was shortcrust pastry cuddling tender steak and gravy. A separate pot of gravy was very welcome. Vegetables actually had some flavour. I even ate some sprouts. Dipped in gravy, they resembled human food close enough to bypass my gag reflex. The one lost point was due to the size of the pub, more like a giant restaurant than a peak pub.

An excellent first time experience. A warm friendly welcome. Great menu choices, we had the sharing nachos & Sunday roast all the food was amazing and good sized portions. Our server/waitress Kelly, was very friendly with a faultless great service, thank you. we will be back, 100% recommend.

The pre-bridal suite was fantastic, lots of space for me & my bridesmaids. Really beautiful hamper full of goodies (face masks, toiletries & snacks). Really huge comfy bed, gorgeous bathroom with walk-in shower & separate bath! Air-con an absolute god send! Special shout out to Ryan & his partner (sorry I can’t remember your name) who both worked on the bar at the Canal the night before I got married and then at the Hurt arms during my wedding. The pizza & pint on Thursday evening was great value for money, super tasty & fresh ingredients. Excellent service. Friday morning the day of the wedding breakfast was served in lovely hampers to the room so we didn’t have to worry about getting dressed when make-up & hair started at 6am. Thank you, Thank You again to all at the Canal!!

A pretty quiet pub which suited us well as we had three meals here. Food was delicious 😋 and reasonably priced too.

We've just got back having paid a visit for lunch. Got there a bit before they started serving food so had a drink while we waited, very nice it was too, with a decent selection of non alcoholic for me, the driver. The food was fantastic, I had the shepherd's pie partner had the steak, both perfect. While we were there they managed to cater for a party of 10 with only a half hours notice. Really enjoyed our visit and wouldn't hesitate to go again. Thanks guys.

Massively impressed by the room I stayed in for the price paid, very recently renovated. Also taken up to room by attentive staff. Although it's a local pub it quietened down towards evening and no difficulty sleeping. More like a hotel with a bar in some respects. Would certainly consider again.

We visited Pesto for the first time and were presently surprised by the food, service and atmosphere. We had the lunch option which meant that we could pick from a number of parts which were grouped into three price brackets. We had three plates each (6 total), shared them between us and they were the perfect amount to satisfy both of us. I would recommend visiting Pesto as I think it is one of the better examples of a small chain.

Amazing food as always can't fault it however the service was disappointing to say the least, got sat at an outside table but waited for at least 20 minutes for some to come and take a drink order however no one came, so approached a member of staff to left them know we where ready. Bearing in mind they had already taken food and drink orders from tables seated after us, we then ordered food and drinks at the same time and then food was brought out pretty sharply but no drinks and no cutlery either. Shame has always been a great place to eat and never had issues in the past.

Lovely!! Went with the Mrs to celebrate our anniversary and couldn't have asked for a better night. David our server was polite and nice to chat too. The food was delicious and not over priced. Will definitely be going here again and highly recommend it to anyone who likes food.

Lovely wood burner with old leather sofas. Low ceiling. Cosy. Food expensive but very tasty. Good beer. Dog made welcome. Looks like have a lovely big area out the back for summer. We will definitely be returning.

Extraordinarily good food. We had spicy bean burger and fish and chips. This is like eating in a top class restaurant. Homemade chips, batter, tartare sauce etc. Highly recommended food in a beautiful location.

We decided to visit here whilst in Cromford after visiting White Peak Distillery not to far away. Whilst visiting here the four of us decided to go for all three courses; starters, main & dessert. For starters we had the soup of the day & nachos sharer. Both were good, however it would have been nice to have sour cream & guacamole on the nachos too. For mains I personally chose the gammon & egg, this was cooked & tasted just right. My wife & two friends also liked their main meals. For dessert I decided to go for the chocolate brownie, with ice cream which worked well. I decided to go for the brownie, with ice cream which worked well & my decided to go for the treacle sponge, which you don’t get often on dessert menus, but tasted great. This would definitely be a place to visit again if in the area.

Had a thoroughly good evening here , some very good service and food was impressive. Had the dirty onion burger, and it was gorgeous, really high quality meat cooked with the slightest blush of pink, sauces and onions all complemented and enhanced the burger. Chips were proper chips one of the best burgers I've had in a long time.

My wife and I called here on a rainy Sunday afternoon, as the place where we had in mind was closed. We were greeted with a friendly welcome when we arrived and directed to a seating area. We both had the Sunday Carvery and weren't disappointed at all. There was a good selection of locally sourced meats, and as a nice touch, we could choose if we wanted the meat, rare, medium or well done. A good selection of hot fresh vegetables and the red cabbage was to die for. We both left with full bellies. On a separate note, there was also a good selection of hand pulled beers, for the beer lovers. Would I recommend and return. Definitely. I would. Amazing food & great staff, friendly and smiling. We had some fantastic food, the chips were very large, but the taste was fantastic, I was happy I did not put tomato sauce on, the haddock was really fresh & the batter light & crispy, a slice of lemon, tartare sauce & mushy peas. My wife had the mezze plate & she said it was really good, with plenty of different items on it. Our son had the rice bowl peanut satay, it was full of flavours & plenty of it, with chicken added at extra cost. Definitely quality food at reasonable prices, & portion sizes. A good selection of drinks at the bar. We felt we had been looked after as customers & we were happy with the food we had for the cost. Nothing was greasy, everything tasted & looked fresh & hot food Well done Fishpond, we would definitely come back. Some tables were reserved, so to avoid disappointment, it might be worth ringing if you want to eat here.

We had Sunday lunch here today and it was absolutely fantastic. I am a coeliac and they had an entire gluten free menu with lots of options with only a few that you couldn’t have from the normal menu. Would highly recommend.

The room was as good as it looks in the photos. Well insulated, clean, good shower over the bath in our room. Ate in the restaurant, pretty good. Staff very friendly and helpful. We will be back.

My partner and I have been here a few times now and unfortunately iv never left a review so here it goes...to start we both had a 3 course meal plus 1 coke each and it came to 93 pound which with the quality of the food and the excellent service it was worth every penny..I would strongly recommend the rooms which are amazing with a beautiful view or to go for a meal which never fails to impress..all in all if you live close or within travel distance id pay them a visit because you won't be disappointed..

Lovely pub, had lunch there today. Food was delicious and staff friendly and attentive. We both had mushroom soup to start and for mains I had the butternut squash Wellington and my partner had chicken and ham pie. The pub was cosy with the log burner going and the price is as expected when eating out in the locality.

A fantastic restaurant/pub. We met with friends for dinner on a Thursday evening. We were shown to our table in the bar area which was lovely, all the tables in the main restaurant were all booked. The food was exceptional, they had some really nice beers on too and everyone really enjoyed the evening. Highly recommend this place. Quality food/drink, great service and atmosphere.
