Lovely pub, had lunch there today. Food was delicious and staff friendly and attentive. We both had mushroom soup to start and for mains I had the butternut squash Wellington and my partner had chicken and ham pie. The pub was cosy with the log burner going and the price is as expected when eating out in the locality.
Came here for a nice little date night, been 4 times total, first for Sunday lunches which I remember being good but pricey. Last time I came for dinner and had Belly pork - 2 pieces were obviously reheated and the last of 3 pieces was clearly fresher. We went last night and I risked the belly pork - It wasn't good; bearly chewable and was super difficult to get through with a knife. Chicken my partner ordered was cooked really well and was juicy. Everything was quite bland, though. Service felt pressured, disjointed and impatient.
We had Sunday lunch here today and it was absolutely fantastic. I am a coeliac and they had an entire gluten free menu with lots of options with only a few that you couldn’t have from the normal menu. Would highly recommend.
The room was as good as it looks in the photos. Well insulated, clean, good shower over the bath in our room. Ate in the restaurant, pretty good. Staff very friendly and helpful. We will be back.
My partner and I have been here a few times now and unfortunately iv never left a review so here it goes...to start we both had a 3 course meal plus 1 coke each and it came to 93 pound which with the quality of the food and the excellent service it was worth every penny..I would strongly recommend the rooms which are amazing with a beautiful view or to go for a meal which never fails to impress..all in all if you live close or within travel distance id pay them a visit because you won't be disappointed..
