If You’re After Authentic Greek Food Locally, this is the best you’re gonna get! I’ve been to Greece and can say that this is very close. The Food is amazing, the atmosphere is great, super cozy and the staff are attentive and welcoming, always ready to help.

Went to Odyssey on Saturday 23/11/24 as a group of four for a special occasion. The food was great, it was fresh, tasty and plentiful. Very clean restaurant and facilities with a lovely atmosphere but above all the service was another level some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. A must visit if in Chesterfield we will be back

Absolutely brilliant experience. Visited early on a Friday night. Service was spot on, waiting time was perfect. Didn't feel slow or too rushed. Greeted warmly and with a complimentary shot of Uzo. Greek music playing in the background and lots of trinkets from the island really help set the tone. The menu is really nicely set out and helped give a real family feel to the restaurant. Had deep fried feta with a jam as a start and my wife had baked aubergine. They're not messing about with portion sizes here. This Yorkshireman was very happy. Both were delicious. Main course, I had the Odyssey mixed grill and my wife had the Greek meatballs. Both were delicious. Mine was again a hefty portion and I left the restaurant feeling full but not uncomfortably so. My oy critique (and not enough to change from a 5* experience) is that the mixed grill was served with a sheet of grease paper underneath which went soggy and could've been mixed into the food. I'd have preferred this without. They have bottles of Mythos available which is nice and was served in a frosted glass. All told, 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 drinks came to just under £80 and was worth every penny. Will absolutely be back and singing from the rafters about it. Can't believe it's took me this long to visit!

Probably one of the best restaurants to enjoy the Greek experience, the food is really nice, staff is friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is just amazing. Beautiful place.

We went for a meal after looking at the reviews and were not disappointed. The food is freshly cooked to order and therefore takes a while, so expect to wait a little longer than other restaurants. Beautifully presented and deliciously tasty and most definitely worth the wait though. They also cater for individual palates too, so you can ask for your dish to be tweaked if needed … ie minus garlic! The deserts are incredible … would highly recommend the baklava! We met the owners who were so welcoming and can’t wait to visit again.

We visited here for the second time last night and can’t express just how lovely this place is. On both occasions the food has been absolutely divine, the waitress more than helpful with us and our grandson (even fetching him some pens & paper to play with) and the service has been exceptional. I had the vegetarian mushroom & halloumi, my daughter the pasta and my husband chicken iskender. All were beautiful. We will definitely be continued repeat customers. Thank you

Got lucky. Just turned up at 4pm and wasn't busy so we got a table. Excellent food, chargrilled chicken and lamb with fried potatoes and really tasty fresh bread. Very recommended 👌

We came in on a Tuesday evening for a family meal and thought it would be quiet because it was mid-week but this place is clearly very popular and rightly so! It’s the first time we’d tried it after hearing great things and we were blown away by the service, quality of food, decor … just everything was lovely. It’s so hard to find places offering authentic and good quality Italian dishes. Everything was so fresh and cooked to perfection. We tried pizzas, the mushroom ravioli and had the BEST Arancini! This place is perfect for occasions, family meals or a romantic date. If anyone asks for a recommendation for an Italian this would be my no.1

What a lovely place to have my Birthday. Everyone was so generally friendly, from entering and to leaving. The atmosphere is brilliant with the Italian background music and the decor. The share starter for 2 outstanding ! So was the baked hooped pasta dish so filling, plus my family had the meatballs and spaghetti and ham pizza. Never felt rushed , and when they found out it's my birthday they brought an icecream with candle and sang to me!! Such lovely owners and amazing food.

A hidden little gem of a place ... We've driven past this place many a times on our way to town - not thinking much of it.. it's a shame we didn't try it sooner! Food: Fantastically tasty food, which was prompt and well presented. On the first visit, there was a substitute on my tagliatelle - but this is because it's all made fresh that day and we arrived one hour before closing. Tried a few different starters/sharing plates, both were beautiful and (as much as I know) tasted authentic. Each following visit has been equally beautiful food. Service: First time, we arrived an hour before closing (cause... Yolo and we were hungry) and they were still very welcoming and accommodating. We still weren't rushed to order out food, even with the time. Everyone was friendly, polite and helpful. On following visits, everyone has been beyond lovely on each visit ... Atmosphere: Decorated with little touches of Sicily - it has a nice ambience for the type of food and cuisine served. It can get a little loud, with the size of the room, but nothing to stop you visiting this beautiful little gem. Would definitely recommend and will continue to return.

It is a nice place to eat for the whole family. It's a bit on the expensive side but a good choice of food, including vegan and gluten-free options. Staff are very approachable (including the chefs), and the music and decor adds to the warm atmosphere.

I’ve been visiting here for the last few years. Service is always 10/10. They are so accommodating. I’ve got 3 little ones and they always make us feel so welcome we are now regulars. Courtney and the team make the place feel so friendly! Toilets are really accessible and clean. Food has massively improved as of late. Love a buttermilk chicken! Highly recommend

We have breaks in Chesterfield sometimes and we found this place. Realised also one near where we live so I'll certainly try that too! Meals were good every time. We've been here a few times on each break so can recommend the range and quality on the menu, the friendliness of the staff, animal and child friendly with play corners and lots of toys. The clientele in here seems good too so nothing to complain about as they even got us in on Saturday when very busy and the meals were good! Thanks!

WOW 🤩 Relaxing atmosphere, smiling staff , child friendly, plenty of seating, staff are attentive making sure tables are kept cleaned ready for the next customer. Love the retro decor and staff individuality 👌 Food is delicious and served within a reasonable time frame. Disabled access. Well stocked bar. Reasonable prices. Children seem to have a fun time here. Toy corner .Arts and crafts for children so no worries if you're a parent/grandparents with young children. Highly recommended, came here for my wife’s birthday with my son, although the restaurant was full with people waiting for tables, staff where friendly, attentive and got us to our table shortly after our reservation. Food came out in a reasonable time, well sized portions and competitively priced. Will be coming again.

Me and my partner have been here a few times now and thoroughly enjoyed it every time. The food is absolutely incredible, the staff are so attentive and can't do enough for you, even when they're busy. The atmosphere is lovely and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. This is definitely going to be our new favourite restaurant.

Booked for 5pm (only slot available), had hoped for carvery but that stops at 4, staff just clearing as we arrived and it looked amazing! I had liver instead and my pal had pork, both absolutely delicious. Had just enough room for dessert and coffee, really nice creme brulee and bakewell tart. Staff were fantastic, really chatty and friendly and understood my request for a small spoon for my creme brulee 😆 will return and make sure to book well in advance and before 4 so we can try the carvery! Lovely restaurant to spend our wedding anniversary in. I have a lot of food intolerances but I felt looked after straight away like nothing was too much trouble and the allergy and intolerance menu was really clear and easy to read.

We love this place! We had the festive menu and it was SO good! The cocktails were great and the brisket, oh my it was to die for!

First time visiting this place - will definitely be back! Lovely surroundings, staff very friendly and food out of this world! We had garlic mushrooms, deep fried brie, liver and mash and spare ribs also a bottle of wine and drinks hence why we spent so much - but well worth it!!

I visited for Sunday brunch with my Mum and sisters for my sister's birthday. We were given a very warm, smiley, genuine welcome as soon as we arrived and although we hadn't booked we were taken straight to a table by one of the beautiful picture windows. Our waitress, Christie, introduced herself, took our drinks order , gave us our menus and gave us time to get settled. She also complimented my coat which was very thoughtful. I ordered the 'nojito' a mocktail with ginger, mint and lime which was absolutely delicious. Christie came back and took our food order, I had the small veggie breakfast and my family each had the small breakfast. Christie was happy to accommodate a change to the menu, I requested scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs. It was really nice to see a variety of options on the menu. As I'm veggie I have to choose the vegan option at some restaurants which is fine apart from the fact that I miss out on halloumi! At Bottle and Thyme they have both a veggie and a vegan option which was great. The food was beautifully cooked and well presented. My small veggie breakfast was a veggie sausage, vine tomatoes, scrambled eggs ( by request) on sourdough bread, delicious chestnut mushrooms, handmade rosti, spinach and beans. The beans were thoughtfully presented in a little pot. All parts of my breakfast were tasty and cooked to perfection. The food was light but filling and just the right amount. My family all enjoyed their breakfasts too. I had a pot of green tea afterwards, my Mum had a cappuccino and my sisters had iced coffee and lemonade. We didn't feel at all rushed to finish our drinks and although the restaurant was busy we felt comfortable to take time to enjoy our food. The space is exceptionally well planned. Very light and airy but still feels comfortable and welcoming. Sometimes window seats can be chilly but we were nice and warm even on a cold day. The team were all lovely and made sure we were comfortable and attended to for the duration of our stay. I would highly recommend Bottle and Thyme. We are already planning our next visit and looking forward to trying more of the menu and maybe some cocktails too ( it would be rude not to right?!) We really enjoyed our meal at Bottle and Thyme. We had 7 small plates between 2 of us on a midweek deal - 3 plates for £18. Every plate was delicious and we were disappointed that we couldn’t manage to finish it all! Service was excellent too. Great quality and value for money

I went here today with my mum. The best quiche and slaw EVER. Crumbly pastry, tasty quiche, but the slaw was the best bit. Pomegranate, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, shredded cabbage and a zesty salad dressing. Yummy!! Fabulous service by everyone. Thank you so much! ❤️😀

We booked the Bottle and Thyme for a party of 50+ people, to include a hot buffet. We were not disappointed! The quality of the food provided was outstanding, and plentiful, with plenty of choice for all tastes. The staff were excellent, and could not do enough to help, ensuring plates, cutlery and food was replenished as necessary, also ensuring there was someone serving at the bar. A couple of days later, 4 of us returned for breakfast where once again we experienced a first class service, no delays and delicious, well prepared and presented food. Personally, I recommend the large breakfast, but you will need an appetite to match! I would highly recommend the Bottle and Thyme, and will be returning.

Beautiful meal, great service from start to finish. We was treated like VIP guests. The meal was so delicious I’d come back to chesterfield, just to come back here, the chef needs a pay rise 😊 and we came from Birmingham, for the week and this place is a real gem, I highly recommend trying it

Spent a wonderful valentines evening at the Old post and me and my husband were very impressed. The interior is lovely with a warm and cosy atmosphere. The staff were friendly and very helpful, very attentive but not intrusive. We had a really nice chat with our waitress who gave us lots of information and got us booked in for one of their tasting menu events which I'm really looking forward to. The food was beautiful! High quality and generous portion sizes. We got canapés, starters, sorbet, main, dessert and a lovely box of homemade baileys chocolates to take home. All absolutely delicious! Can't wait to visit again. Perfect for a special occasion or romantic date night.

Fantastic food and great front of house, resulted in a wonderful meal. We had 3 courses, with each being flawless - high quality ingredients, cooked and presented well! Highly recommend a visit, and will certainly be back soon. Save room for desert, the Crème brûlée was delicious.

The food here was outstanding! Quality and quantity were 20/10. There was 7 of us and all the meals were very well enjoyed, such an interesting and diverse menu to chose from, pizza, traditional mains, Asian style foods, and the meat rack things, and burgers. Super cosy and quirky inside with lots of fairy lights and a blossom tree! I had the cabin chicken burger and cambert sharer, and both were amazing. I was gutted to be full for pudding. We ordered using the app, and it was delivered quickly despite being busy, but be careful we did end up some meals at the wrong time as we didn't do it right on the app. Big car park available, and the toilets were nice and clean and quirky with a rustic theme. Excellent choices of wines and beers, and we didn't have one, but I saw some of the cocktails, and wow, they looked incredible. They were huge and came with sweets, lol

Have been recommended this by 3 separate people and decided the 30 min drive was worth finding out what the fuss was about. Decoration = beautifully rustic and charming Atmosphere = busy and bustling but still nice and friendly Service = friendly and efficient (didn't have to wait long) Food = AMAZING. Yakitori kebabs were unreal. Pizza was the best my daughter has EVER had. Chicken lollipops were tasty and made of proper pieces of chicken. Portions were great - couldn't have starters of desserts. Cost was well worth it for the quality of the food. Will definitely be coming back.

Second time visiting here, first time we couldn't fault it, food was spot on and service was good. This time we decided to try the pizza and garlic bread.....what to say....AMAZING....my wife and I had a pizza each and a garlic bread to share (little girl had kids battered chicken and chips). Food was delivered in good time, hot and presented nicely. We probably could have got away with one between us but where is the fun in that, both had a distinct taste and every ingredient was fresh. We had a cheese and chilli garlic bread, which I most definitely would recommend, I realise it's not a traditional choice but be brave and treat your taste buds. Atmosphere inside, added to by a quirky decor and warm feel was lovely. Inviting you to explore the menu and drinks on offer (which is vast). It can be busy but we chanced it each time and got a table in the bar area. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back. 18-02-25 - the chap working behind the bar around half two deserves a raise, he was very friendly and couldn't do more to help, entertained my young one and seemed to be doing everything as well as running the bar.

Stopped in for lunch and was our first visit. Really lovely pub / restaurant. We are in the pub area but restaurant looked very nice. Great outdoor area as well which I get is great for a drink / meal in the summer. This place has a terrific atmosphere warm and welcoming. Staff are all helpful and friendly and food brought out promptly. They have a large range of drinks, lagers, ales and ciders and it was nice to try some thing different (IPA I hadn't had before). The menu is different with a lot of choice and while we only had lunch the food was fabulous as was the presentation. We will go back and try them one evening and would recommend a visit.

We had our daughter and future son in laws engagement party there on Sunday evening. The staff were unbelievable and so friendly and so helpful. Beautiful atmosphere...we would definitely recommend this place. 10 out of 10 ❤️

Great atmosphere and service and tasty steak! I had the set menu 3 course for £18.95: teriyaki chicken wings to start, 6oz Rump steak with salad and peppercorn sauce and sticky toffee pudding with custard. Everything was delicious and the service was fairly quick. We did book for midday when the restaurant opened though, so it wasn’t too busy. steak was cooked perfectly for my liking and the salad was fresh and well presented.

Within the centre of town we found this pub with a groovy 80's layout, vibe, a decor. 😎 (apart from their clothing)😅 Hospitality: 5/5 Exceptional service for our huge crowd; (additionally as-well before we even arrived). Food: 5/5 Everything we had was done to the highest quality. My food was fresh; with a taste of orriginal craftsmanship. My cheescake was deliciously creamy. 🎂 Layout: 5/5 Great size; with great character a style. A timeless location from the 80's with modern touches here a there. The upstairs private loft; (booking); sounds quite interesting Note: bathroom could do with a slight renovation, or modernising. +1 🌟 - very friendly, a reliable when booking at last minute. Note that unlike most eating establishments; this one typically shuts before eavening arrives.

So many places to eat when you google a town so you hope for the best. We did and we got the best. One of the tastiest ribeyes I've ever had, cooked to perfection.The atmosphere was wonderful, the decor interesting and fun and the soul music was superb. They're not too pricey for a nice treat and the staff were all knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, working very hard to make peoples' evenings memorable. All good and all designed to take us back there happily without hesitation.
