Gaby taught my son for 7 months as he was homeschooled. I see Gaby’s add in the library and just loves the colourful, bright flyer and the wording “Learn Happy” made a call straight away, best decision Gaby was lovely. She meet with my son and I knew straight away she was the one. Not only did Gaby support my son in his learning but she also went beyond with helping him over come difficulties with his confidence and wellbeing, just talking to him and having a little one to one chat, reassuring him that he can do it and is going to be ok. Unfortunately my son was bullied at school and I brought Gaby in to support me with homeschooling. She also helped me with advice and we would have chats after the sessions which I miss. She is a wonderful teacher with so much patience as my son could be difficult at times. She truly cares and is devoted to her teaching methods. I can’t recommend her enough. Unfortunately due to my working situation as I had to go part time I could no longer keep Gaby on. When this changes she will be back 😁 Gaby still keeps in contact and asked how we are all doing which is just Lovely.

I completed the Essay Crash Course during the summer before my final year at university. I hugely benefited from the process as I learned skills to finally understand what a university essay demands in order to achieve a first. This course closed the huge gap in teaching how to write a university level essay. I now feel equipped to complete my final year and hope to increase my marks from a 2:1 to a first as a result of the valuable tools learned during the course. My matched tutor was really helpful and gave in-depth explanations to give me confidence in the new method of writing, something I did not learn at university. During the course I worked on an example question from one of my university papers with my tutor which was a hugely valuable exercise. I now have a worked example alongside the explanations given during the sessions which I will use throughout my final year. I will now implement what I have learned from this course and make significant changes to my work which I hope will be the difference between a 2:1 and first class degree.

I looked for an essay writing summer tutor for my children as I feel the English system does not focus on teaching children how to present analytical thinking in written form but rather mainly on content. It seems to be assumed that the children will find their way to writing good essays (and clearly many do). However, coming from the American system, in which the process of HOW to write a good essay is taught almost as a standalone subject, I felt that my children would be best served going into a writing task with the strongest possible toolset so that the ideas and ultimately what to write would become their only challenge. How to write would be second nature. I contacted Tania at Uber Tutors after a lot of research and, via her incredibly personalised interview approach, she matched a fantastic tutor with my children. Over the course of the summer, they learned how to structure, present and write an argument. They also learned how to incorporate evidence, be it literary, historical or data driven. Not only do they now approach every school essay confidently (dare I say enthusiastically?) but their teachers have mentioned their writing skills to me across the curriculum. We contacted Sam at Oxthink Education to help both my sons with their studies for GCSE’s. My eldest son needed to resit his Maths and my younger son needed help in revision techniques and a boost in Maths, English and the Sciences. We started these booster sessions about 3 months before they sat their GCSE exams.
