Nick was an excellent tutor over the summer; he provided a structured, well thought out programme of topics to help prepare my son for year 9 and keep his brain ticking over during the long holiday . Communication was excellent and Nick emailed brief feedback after each session and materials in preparation for the following week. My five year old daughter has been attending a weekly piano lesson with Alex for several months and really enjoys each session. She had previously never played piano but her initial basic interest has turned into a genuine and progressing skill from which she is continuing to develop both in confidence and ability. Alex's teaching method is extremely effective and enjoyable through practical piano playing and also fun written theory work. It is a great experience for her to be able to play a real piano during her lesson - with practice carried out at home on her battery operated one. Every minute of the lesson is productive and 'home work' and practice work is provided and essential for continued learning until the next lesson. The results now are that my daughter is in the basic stages of learning to read music and is able to play many basic songs and nursery rhymes by heart. She is also developing 'an ear' for what is right and wrong through Alex's expert guidance. The lessons are in a nice homely environment in a quiet location with ample parking. I have been very impressed throughout the the year and look forward to seeing the development of my daughters piano playing with Alex.

Alex takes step by step approach to improve the understanding and concept of the subject, then he allocates sufficient homework for exercise and followup review is done each week. We came to Tutor Rise late in comparison to the rest of daughter's cohort. We needed guidance having not got the desired outcome to date from our original tutor. Miss Oge was there as a experienced guide to steady the ship and give us our confidence back. Our daughter was assessed and our desired school noted.
