Poppy offers fantastic tuition. She is reliable, friendly and creative in her teaching approach to get the best out of your child. She supported my daughter, who has moderate dyslexia, through her English GCSE’s in year 11, and as a result of her highly personalised approach, my daughter went up 4 grades. The benefits of Poppy’s teaching were also seen in many of the other subjects that my daughter studied because she was able to help my daughter develop strategies in her approach to reading, comprehension and writing and we saw her confidence develop beyond recognition. When you have a learning difference, it’s not just about the effect on education, it is also about self-esteem. I cannot thank Poppy enough for helping my daughter to realise that she can be a high achiever and a confident learner. Poppy’s approach means that my daughter has a very manageable ‘learning difference’ and no longer a ‘learning disability.’

Poppy has literally changed my daughters life in Maths, before Poppy she had very little confidence in her own ability and was really struggling. As the subject has changed so much since I was at school, I too was struggling to help. Poppy tailors her tutoring style to meet her needs, and my daughter looks forward to her Marhs tutor session. I have seen my daughter’s confidence grow and grow to the point of moving up a set at school! I am so thankful to her for her patience, understanding and supportive qualities. Jane tutored both my sons from years 4-6 and I would highly recommend her. She is calm, professional & organised and excelled in developing the boys’ confidence. I was impressed by her understanding of the different personality and needs of my children and her ability to individualise her teaching to suit the child. Jane has tutored 2 of my children for the 11+ grammar school exams and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Both of my children lacked confidence in their ability and Jane made the lessons fun and something they both looked forward to. When it came to the exams both children were excited to be able to show what they could achieve - she taught them how to cope with the pressure, exam techniques as well as helping to strengthen their ability in math and english - both sailed through the 11+ and have continued to do well after such a fantastic grounding. I have already signed Jane up to help my youngest child when the time arrives. Jane is honest, incredibly diligent and genuinely cares deeply for the children she works with.

Jane tutored my Daughters when they needed extra support in Maths/English and 11+ tutoring, they loved visiting her each week and enjoyed the varied sessions. As a parent of a past student, I recommend Mrs Marnie Nicholas as a tutor. Marnie tutored my daughter English and Maths between March and September 2019. She managed to help my daughter become a confident and keen mathematician, who passed the exam with flying colours. Marnie has been an excellent tutor to our daughter for the past seven months (currently in year 2). Marnie has tutored my son who took his 11+ September 2021 and passed with a higher than average score and also my daughter who took her 11+ September 2022 who also passed with exactly the same score! I’m very impressed with how she has engaged with both of them and took the time to understand them both. Both my son and daughter both thoroughly enjoyed their time with Marnie and even asked me if they could carry on going once it was all done! Marnie explained everything to them in a way that they understood and this has resulted in a big boost in confidence! Marnie prepared my son for the 11+ and he passed with flying colours. I liked her emphasis and views on English comprehension. I was so pleased with my choice. Marnie focused on the language subjects as I wanted, whilst doing a good job teaching maths. It was a good balance. Marnie`s knowledge of childrens learning and her experience of the 11+ materials and what the children need to know really impressed me. Marnie kept lessons interesting and used additional learning materials and resources too. I have also had the pleasure to see for myself Marnie`s teaching style. I wanted to review before my son gets his results back as largely the outcome is irrelevant to my feedback. Over the past months Anne has worked with Alf in a supportive and encouraging way. Stretching him for sure, but offering guidance, feedback and tutoring at an appropriate level through each stage of his learning journey. In that time I’ve seen his confidence and ability sky rocket and the complexity of the problems he’s now approaching are far in excess of what he was capable of last December. Throughout the process Anne has kept my son and I updated and informed, steered his independent learning to key areas he needed to strengthen and allowed him to shoot for a much higher target than - by his own admission - he ever expected to be capable of. I contacted Anne around 6 months before the GCSE exams. Anne gladly accommodated my twin daughters together in one session and nearer to exam time, at our request, individually. Both my girls lacked confidence in Maths and needed a boost to help improve their borderline grades. Anne worked solidly with the girls each session, and they quickly enjoyed attending, working on specific areas of difficulties and then past exam papers. Never once did my girls complain about their lessons with Anne which was such an improvement on their views about school lessons. They found her supportive, engaging and above all humorous! I took my dyslexic boy to Paula because he had lost all confidence in himself and point blanked refused to even look at a book. Paula was able to build his confidence in fun game's /activities. I heard him read books for the first time in years and it was a joy to see. My daughter also attended some sessions to give her back confidence and fill some gaps from COVID times , she helped her prep for year six SATs . My daughter is a fantastic reader but a terrible speller and her handwriting isn't great. Paula really helped her to look at what she was writing and how she was forming her letter's and things massively improved for her. We are so thankful for the help she provided for both my children.

Paula is fantastic. She has been tutoring our 8 year old dyslexic child and the improvement in his confidence and ability has been amazing. She uses a multitude of specialist methods designed for dyslexic children to get the best out them. Theo now looks forward to going to this tutor, which is something we never thought would be happen. His progress has been noted at school as well as being visible in his general behaviour and attitude to learning. I couldn't recommend Paula highly enough. Excellent support to my daughter who recently sat for OCR AL computer science examinations. This is the first time we try Explore Learning Bournemouth. Overall helpful and friendly team and my child loves the sessions. They have a good overall map for the national curriculum. If your child is ok to work in open areas with other children they will enjoy the session.

They are doing a great job Supporting our sons with dyslexia. Our sons do maths and English with them . They have both improved so much since they started. Our boys really like the way the tutors check on them and support learning. We are impressed!
