Honestly could not recommend this garage enough! I visited them based on a recommendation from a family member. I had previously had some really bad experiences with mechanics and the work that had been undertaken on my vehicle. Phipps did my MOT are were thorough, truthful, transparent and completely honest about what needed doing. They went above and beyond to source parts to fix my car and get it back on the road for me as soon as possible. Such a smooth, quick process and all with a smile on their faces too. To them it's just their job but to me it restores my faith in humanity knowing that there are garages out there who care about the safety of their customers and not just pound signs. The lady on the desk could not have been more helpful with phone calls keeping me up to date, pricing, receipts and just general info about my car and the work! She was extremely informative and her friendly manner really helped ease the stress of my car not passing the MOT and needing yet more work. They even have a few small cars on site that you can hire for the day incase you cannot get lifts to and from the garage and all for a reasonable fee of £15 for the day. 10/10 service and I would recommend to anyone looking for a well run, honest, trustworthy garage!! These guys are the best around!!

When I arrived in Folkestone from France, my car was showing multiple engine error codes. I was genuinely worried about the condition of my vehicle, and to make things more difficult, I don’t speak English well. But this garage – and especially the mechanic I spoke with – went above and beyond to help me. Despite the language barrier, he patiently tried to explain everything. We used a translator and even ChatGPT to communicate back and forth. He read the error codes from my car and explained in detail what might be causing them. He showed great knowledge and professionalism. Not only that, but he also recommended a Volkswagen dealership that could help with the specific parts I needed. He even printed out a route map on his computer so I could easily get there. And the most impressive thing? He refused to take any money for the diagnostics and his help – even though I offered and insisted. This experience left a deep impression on me. I wish him the greatest success, lots of good and thankful customers, and strong health. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Had my car recovered yesterday, front drivers side wheel would not turn. So instead of dragging it up the truck the driver (Adam) went out of his way to go back to the yard and get a dolly to save my car from any further damage. The Henwood team were amazing and bent over backwards to fix my car the same day! They were also clear, concise and transparent with their advice and pricing, which was very reasonable. A local, trustworthy garage. They get very busy but will always try to help you out with anything urgent. I’ve used them a few times for a variety of vehicles since moving to the area a couple of years ago and can’t fault them. They’ll give you an honest appraisal of what needs doing immediately and what can wait until another time - all without the chin scratching and hard sell. My car needed an ‘emergency’ MOT. Ashwal called me back and managed to fit me in the next day and were even able to provide me with a courtesy car! Incredibly friendly and helpful and didn’t charge me extra despite the extra effort they put in. I can definitely recommend them, and I would definitely use them again.

The team sorted my vehicle and put in lots of free part and labour just to pass the MOT. So grateful to the team at reception and the guys behind the scenes. My vehicle drives like new. Turned out their prices are better than Halfords 👍🏽. Would definitely recommend. Book an appointment early as they can be very busy.

Great mechanics, good service, have used for both our cars now. Always gives good honest advice. Not a lot of onsite parking as can be busy, beware parking on road outside as no parking zone except for limited parking bay at end of cul de sac.
