Nice place to visit. It is very popular so can get busy in the restaurant, but we were seated within 10 minutes. Good choice on the menu. Staff helpful and cheerful. Will come here again.

One of the best independent garden centres in Yorkshire, helpful staff, gorgeous gift shop and cafe with ever-changing seasonal menu, ideal for lunch after a brisk walk along the river (dog-friendly bit outside under cover with heat lamps). Bought many plants over the years, all are very happy & hardy!

Me and my 3 sisters came here today for lunch and to get together for my birthday. Had a lovely lunch as always 😋 been going to Cannon Hall for quite a few years now and got to know the staff. Vicky who is the manager who's so lovely saw my cards and told her it's my birthday tomorrow. As we was nearly ready for leaving Vicky and staff came over with a piece of cake with a candle in and sang happy birthday SUSAN. I was so overwhelmed 😭 thank you so much Vicky and staff for a beautiful day. And not forgetting my beautiful sister's aswell. Much love to you all xxxxxxx ❤️

Very nice food, but service was not the most attentive. The prices are also too high at breakfast and portions do not reflect the price. It was £7 for a sausage sandwich (two sausages on sliced white bread) which is double what I would usually pay in my local cafe and it would be in a fresh roll instead.

Well this was unexpected. We came for the goats but the Scones stole the show. A wonderful dog friendly café. With honestly the best scones I have ever had. Honestly two mouthfuls in, myself and my partner were in awe. Soft, warm buttery and fluffy. Milkshakes for my 8 year old went down a treat. Honestly this place is fantastic, dog friendly with a dog menu.

We needed somewhere for lunch on our drive up to the seaside and stumbled across the Potting Shed. Unlike the name suggests, this is not a small shed but a huge, comfortable restaurant and cafe located in a large converted farmyard barn. The inside is simply stunning and worth a visit if you're into interior decoration or are considering converting an old building. The quality of the food also matches the interior and you can expect locally sourced products, cooked to perfection and served with a smile. The staff were genuinely super - efficient and professional, and were able to cope with the wide mix of customers. There were young mothers with prams, older couples, large families and dog walkers and yet everyone had plenty of space in the different rooms and everybody was welcomed. A great find!

Ohhhhh Claire - the rules of engagement when unhappy with a service are: 1. Complain direct - public slaughter is, in all honesty, ineffectual yet bloody 2. Accept that customers aren't always right 3. NEVER virtue signal 4. Avoid the use of hyperbole We've eaten at Thorncliffe, buy all our meat etc, which makes us regulars I guess. Thorncliffe is a busy, throng-on experience, and the reason behind the busy is the fact that both cafe and shop provide excellent food and service. Anyone can check, via this app, whether Thorncliffe is busy, not busy, etc, thus allowing the customer control over when they visit. For my part the only time I've had a negative experience was down to a customer being an utter nuisance, not the staff. It wasn't you Claire. Highly recommend Thorncliffe - local, fantastic produce, pricing reflects the quality, friendly staff, all of which is why we frequently visit.

Went for a catch up with an old friend. It was so busy being the festive period. However, the staff were making sure tables were cleared as soon as people vacated. The food was amazing and we took a quick look in the farm shop. I had to restrain myself in their cheese monger section. Amazing views out of the cafe with a decent outdoor area to boot. Will deffo be making a return trip in the future.

Being from a country background, I wanted to go to a local farm shop in Yorkshire, so my friends recommended I visit here. It did not disappoint. I first went to the cafe where I was seated in front of a large window with an almost panoramic view across the farms and the nearby towns. I chose to have the warm carrot and coriander soup and a sausage roll, a cappuccino with oat milk was on the cards to wash it down. After ordering at the till there wasn't much time to wait before the coffee arrived. The coffee was perfect temperature and was really smooth and rich in flavour. The roll and the soup came out together soon after. The soup came out a little too hot and needed quite some time to cool which is my only criticism with the experience. The soup was fresh and the roll was well filled. My preference would have been to have the roll filling a little bit more corse but this did not affect the flavour in the slightest and the pastry held up to be flaky. After the cafe I headed to the main shop which I found was well stocked and had a bit of everything you may want. The vegetables looked fresh and clean. The meat was weighed to order. There was a wide selection of bakes, pastry and other treat goods. I ordered a bit of each section and felt I paid a fair price. Overall, I really liked it and will be back.

All the staff were friendly, food came out really fast, big portions and was really nice, proper nice homemade chips 👌🏼

We had an amazing baby shower yesterday at Audrey’s. From the day dot of booking, the staff have been friendly and some accommodating! They said that they would decorate the table, chair covers and make cupcakes related to the theme. Honestly, I was blown away with how beautiful they decorated the space. Such thought to detail. Again, the staff remained so lovely and accommodating. The food was gorgeous and plenty of it! We will be returning for sure. We can’t thank the staff enough, we had a wonderful afternoon.

We had an amazing afternoon tea for 4 people, we booked it as a wedding gift for our friends. One of our friends had an high intolerance of dairy and onion which the staff catered for. He was reassured of the ingredients and he really enjoyed everything and most importantly he didn’t miss out on afternoon tea. It was our first time of afternoon tea here and we will be definitely returning. We would highly recommend coming here, all the staff are very helpful and they have very good customer service 😁

I am a self proclaimed coffee guru. My mission is to always try and support local and move away from the coffee chain giants. The issue is that some local coffee shops aren't up to it and serve rubbish coffee. Gave The George a chance the other day and WOW did they deliver.! This place is a proper hidden gem. The coffee was gorgeous The environment is very friendly and welcoming The prices are competitive and fair The cakes are awesome The staff are how staff in front of house hospitality should be, super friendly and happy to serve you. If you are in Barnsley and fancy an awesome coffee experience. This is the place for you. 5 🌟

This is by far the best place to visit for food and drink in tarn! Although the prices are a bit on the steep side the quality of the food reflects the price. Me and my partner have visited a couple of times and have ordered the breakfast and have been amazed at how good it was on both occasions. We also ordered chai latte's which came perfectly presented and tasted so good. Everything arrived at the table at a timely manner and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. This is my favourite place to visit when I fancy a treat. Thanks guys 😁

Wow...Visiting from Norfolk headed out for brunch having searched what's nearby. The eggs Benedict looked great so ordered OG Benny eggs with bacon and a pot of Yorkshire fog tea. The food was amazing but the tea was out of this world and very hot which in sub zero snowy Barnsley was very welcome. Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. I will recommend and come back for more thank you. Dog friendly too always a bonus

Newly diagnosed celiac. Usually struggle to find good gluten free menu that tastes nice. This has been one of the best meals I've eaten out in a while . Highly recommend the gf lounge burger

One again, another place we have found that you absolutely should not visit ... Because if you do... It will be a lot harder for us to go back again and eat. You really should be going here to eat. The food was outstanding! We tried the Shakshouka, bang bang chicken noodles, aubergine flatbread and a kids pizza (and a selection of drinks) The service was very fast and friendly, we ordered through the QR code menu whilst sitting up stairs. The drinks were with us within a couple mins and the food about 10 minutes after that and all the food came at once. All the dishes were amazingly tasty and so well cooked! Excellent portion sizes where you still had room for a desert if you wanted, but you weren't stuffed to the rafters, which we appreciated! The whole place has a lovely feeling to it and the staff really add to this with how friendly they all are. In drinks: we had a couple of non alcoholic cocktails (pina nolada and the cherry fakewell) they were beautiful, the pinot grigio on offer was probably the nicest my wife has ever had, whilst the iced salted caramel latte was best I've ever had! So please, please avoid going as I would like a chance to go back here sometime soon ha ha. If you haven't been yet... What are you even waiting for! You will not regret it!

I've been a few times just for drinks and had a lovely time with the atmosphere. Today I went in for food with my partner and dog. The food was amazing and great value. They also went out of their way to cook my dog some plain chicken, put it in a dog bowl and serve it with our food. When I thanked the lady she said "it's the least I could do", which made me feel even my most ridiculous request (a meal with my dog) was nothing! I cannot recommend enough

This is a great establishment it has it all from inside comfortable seating and clean with good happy smiling staff. The price is relatively cheap, and there are some good seals to be had on the menu. There is an outside seating area and again lots of comfortable seats and lots of them. The food is delicious 😋 and the drinks are from normal to exotic. It is disabled friendly so no issues there. I recommend this establishment and give it credo for the decor and the plants inside and outside. Keep up the good work. You are an asset to Barnsley town centre.

Had a wonderful evening with the Supper Club team. Meal was exemplary, the staff attentive and very accommodating. They even sang happy birthday ti me, which was really great. Would highly recommend the supper club. Well done guys. 5 star

Great service with warm welcome. Ordered the 9 item breakfast. Food was hot and tasty. Good selection. Would definitely go here again.
