The Best Cafes in Holloway, Greater London, United Kingdom (2025)

In London, it's often a choice between coffee or food, but rarely both. On this occasion, I opted for coffee (the batch brew was excellent!), but I was pleasantly surprised by the delectable desserts. P.S. Gluten free friendly!

Profile has easily become one of my top three coffee spots in London. It has a really nice atmosphere, the coffees are fantastic and smooth and the food is lovely. We stumbled upon it by chance and decided to give it a go, ordering a Oat milk Matcha, Oat Flat White and a banana loaf to share. All went down a treat, and now I'm looking forward to the next time we're in the area so we can pop in.

A perfect flat white. The flavour of the coffee was so good - slightly nutty and fruity, a bit sweet without any sugar just milk. Good looking cakes, didn’t try them yet!

Wow I love it here! Excellent coffee, we had a flat white which was chocolatey, smooth and easy to drink! As for the filter, it was naturally processed, and tasted quite fruity, light and sweet! An absolute treat to go down! We also managed to sneak in a pain au suisse! We’ve never heard of it before and it looked divine; it was sweet, chocolatey and crisp on the outside while moist on the inside! There are about 4 tables to sit inside and it’s a such a cute space! The baristas are also so so nice and friendly! Would recommend for sure!

Love this place! Delicious, consistently well-made coffee. Very good food - I particularly like the fish finger bap. And the staff are always friendly and up for a chat. Definitely recommend!

Super delicious smokey bacon bap and hash browns. Their chipotle ketchup is so light and fresh. Everything I ate was super tasty and made with care. Vibe is immaculate with ambient music and fast Wi-Fi. Staff is kind and fast. Will definitely return!

Jake & Rachel, make this coffee shop very special. Dare I say, their coffee, Bacon BAP and hash browns kick 🇦🇺 cafes, out of the park! Best coffee I've had in my 2 weeks in Europe. Apparently, this family run business is a result of inspiration of the owners travels through Australia. Also, they bottle their own sauce called Filthy!

Jake and Josh were an absolute delight to speak to. My partner and I came in for a coffee and were very warmly greeted. I inquired about the coffee and had a great chat with the Barista who also let me sample another type of coffee they served/sold. The owner then came in and we chatted about our love for Arsenal. Both of them also helped provide information about the area as we are new to London and looking for a place to live. I couldn't have been welcomed any better. Really felt the community vibe here and would highly recommend a visit.

Cozy and lovely place decorated with a Mediterranean style and smart located at a rock throwing distance from Archway station. The staff is friendly, the tables and chairs are very comfortable and the food is great. I tried the Mediterranean breakfast and my partner the English. Both were great and also many other options are available in the menu.

Best chicken club sandwich ever had in London. They were kind enough to replace bacon with Turkish sujuk in the sandwich upon my request. Reasonable and affordable prices, and most importantly very good quality food. The staff is very kind and accommodating. Lovely cafe to visit!

An excellent place to have breakfast. 8 of us in for Sunday Brunch. I particularly recommend the £14 protein brunch. Great portion sizes against the average plate cost. -1 star for 1 eggs florentine plate that had undercooked poached eggs but this was removed from the bill after a pleasant chat with the staff. Speaking of the staff, they were all excellent in particular Leila needs a shout out. She is exceptionally friendly and helpful. A real asset to the team. We all highly recommend this place.

Can't say enough about this place. We're visiting from the States, and we didn't want a standard pastry/coffee breakfast. This place has wonderful choices many of which are healthy, the staff is great, and view of the street is busy and bright. I had the Mediterranean Breakfast, which was outstanding. It's an easy choice if you're in the area.

We stopped here for breakfast and had a lovely slice of lemon bread and chocolate croissant. Also their hot chocolate and peppermint tea was yummy. The staff is very friendly and the vibe is relaxed and cozy. Highly recommend if you are wanting to find a nice place for breakfast.

I can't begin to explain how awesome Le Peche Mignon is. Ok, I'll try. First, the croissants are a must. They are flaky on the outside and buttery on the inside, and are far better than croissants from the more popular places in central London. Second, the coffee is excellent, whether you are getting a cappuccino or black. Third, the quiches are spectacular - flaky crust and flavourful fillings. Fourth, the croissants...

Cute people serving cute things! Walked in for my morning coffee post run! They use Monmouth coffee so if Borough market is far, this is perf! The pastries were fresh. Quick service. Friendly staff and welcoming with a wide smile! Great start to a day. They also do french Wine and Deli items like cheese and meat if you eat nonveg! The name is a tricky one but a hidden gem and definitely worth trying!

Authentic and unpretentious french cuisine in a beautiful room. Family run and it shows; they take a lot of pride in every detail. While brunch is always a favourite for us, we’re thrilled they’re now open for evenings. Advise calling ahead for a reso. If you can’t get a table they have a great selection of meats, cheeses, desserts to enjoy at home.

Great selection of coffee to take away- always a must for me- especially when it comes with a free drink! They keep the New Yorker and a great selection of books to chill with! Soo glad to see “this” happening to Holloway road after the closure of @oncallcoffee 😁

A real hidden gem, conveniently located by Holloway station. Everything we ordered was outstanding: pistachio croissant, black coffee, lemon ginger shot and the star of the show - the strawberry anf pistachio Danish. This was light, with a perfect contrast of sweet pistachio, sour strawberry and crispy pastry. The decor was also lovely and welcoming. Very highly recommend!

Really outstanding, so many interesting and excellent coffees, both batch and pour-over. Best coffee in the area by far. Service is great too, insightful + helpful. Oh and the food, the pastries and cakes and such, delicious. This place is excellent, and deserves great things

🎃 Went to an after hours pumpkin carving event at Rua. My partner and I are still raving about how much fun we had! £5 entry, we got a large pumpkin and all the tools. We were also given mulled cider, brownie and sweeties while carving away. Super cool friendly staff, lots of good chats and laughs. Instantly felt a warm and welcoming vibe when we walked in, spacious yet cosy atmosphere. Such a great group of people to meet amongst the chaos of London. Bonus- I won a prize for my pumpkin lady! A delicious smelling ghost candle and a coffee voucher! Plus we got to keep our pumpkins and a tea light for inside. Can’t wait to come back. Thanks again Rua. Wonderful evening!

A truly lovely experience! They were kind enough to accept our request for a reservation, and although it wasn't necessary, they still made sure to hold a table for us. All the staff were super lovely and immediately made the cozy space seem already more warm and welcoming. The food was a real treat and the coffee was really good too. Only critique would be that I wish both plates were brought to the table at the same time instead of one after the other. Loved the decor of the space. Really simple and inviting. It's a no laptop space, which makes it easier to settle in and relax in the soft, easy-going atmosphere. Overall great experience and hope to be back again soon!

Lovely cafe to enjoy vegan meals, pastries and a hot cup of hot chocolate (or coffee). Nice vibe, music and friendly staff. They currently have a no laptop policy which was quite inconvenient for me as I traveled there to work, but I ended up having to do some other tasks from my phone. However if you're not looking to work from you laptop, you can sit in, use your phone and enjoy the free range egg omelette with mushrooms and brie cheese- it's delicious! 👌🏾

What a perfect place to have breakfast/brunch time! Everything is perfect here: the food which is qualitative, fresh and made at order ; the atmosphere of the coffee which is really cute ; and the staff whom is really kind! Plus the dishware is britishly lovely! We loved it so much we came back the next day!

I’ve stumbled into this place twice in the last week and felt compelled to write a review. Really relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, made better by the books available to pick up and skim. Excellent cake selection (mostly vegan) and coffee that tastes as good as it looks. Will be back!

Always a pleasure to eat here, be it in the morning or afternoon! The customer service is extraordinary and the food is delicious to say the least! My partner loves the chicken and omelettes they make and I love the vegetarian options they have. Absolutely delicious - I’m always returning and being reminded of why I love this place. Excellent hospitality and service from start to finish!

Lovely helpful staff Fantastic range of fresh drinks and coffees. We are sad this is not local to us as the food is so well prepared, fresh and reasonable. An absolutely solid choice for a bistro/cafe.

OMG! Food heaven! We had the light bite breakfast and it was stunning and super tasty. Massive thanks to the chefs for a fantastic breakfast, I'll come back next time I'm in the area for sure! Lovely and warm inside with both the heating and the lovely staff.

Simply the loveliest coffee place in the area!! I am a regular (and loyal hehe) customer of theirs. I buy coffee from them at least 2 times a week. You can collect a stamp everytime u purchased a coffee and the 9th is for free!! (I think I've already had 4 free drinks yayy) The coffee they make is decent for sure. I personally love the taste of their beans. Another reason why i always come back when there are other choices around the area is that the baristas are always so friendly and welcoming, especially the lady from Czech Republic (should've asked ur name, apologies). She is literally the sweetest barista I've ever met!!! Such great hospitality, full of passion and great energy. She always sparks up great conversations and I just enjoy chatting with her everytime I go there to grab a coffee. You know when someone remembers what u causally said last time and asks about a follow up the next time u go… genuinely feels like a friend of mine, but a friend who makes good coffee. The environment in the coffee shop is also nice and comforting. They got all these green plants in it and a calming background music. U can buy a cute plant from them, or u can simply enjoy the peace and calmness this place brings to u. Like an escape from the hustle and bustle. Words cannot describe how much this place means to me when i have been away from home and going through difficulties. I am just truly grateful for ur existence. xx

I really enjoy coming here to grab a takeaway coffee (takeaway only for now) and to soak in the atmosphere for a moment. It feels like an oasis in the concrete desert of London. Attached is what the shop looks like at the moment (post lockdown) The coffee beans are from Monmouth and the coffee is really well made. The plants in the photo are both decorative and on sale throughout the shop, going from tiny succulents all the way to free standing house plants. I definitely recommend stopping by even to browse 😊

Great little cafe for lunch! Tasty freshly made roll with bacon and lashings of avocado. Excellent coffee. Decent price. Pleasant table service. What's not to like!

Owners are very welcoming!!! Euro cafe is great if you want a refreshing study environment or just a chilled coffee time!!! One of my favourite cafe in Blackhealth/Lewisham area - also you have to visit this cafe if you want to experience the vintage 90s cafe vibes. A MUST VISIT CAFE !!!

Popped in for a Full English before the football and not disappointed. Food lovely, good sized portions, service friendly and more than happy with the price, I was expecting over £10 but it was just £8.95, brilliant value. Will be heading back here when next in the area.

Passed this a few times when going to Arsenal but never went in because I thought it was just a coffee shop. But it's a little gem. Went in there yesterday as everywhere else was packed, Friday night and Arsenal playing. Food and service are great and I'll be coming here from now on when going to Arsenal.

We really enjoyed the food here! The grilled goat’s cheese was unique while the frittata and english breakfast was done nicely. We appreciated the generous portions and balance of fresh salad on the side.

Always hits the spot! Friendliest staff around & the food is consistently good (excellent brunch options) Can recommend the halloumi breakfast or soup of the day…followed by a grilled sandwich They know their coffee & teas too! And the takeaway cake slices can’t be shied away from either…

This place is a hidden gem💎 Beautiful venue, super neat and tidy, good food, efficient and super fast service. Love it! Definitely 10/10 recommend🫶🏼
