Comfortable stay and great location, despite booking and room issues Overall, we had a good stay at Ibis Canning Town. The location is excellent, right across from Canning Town Underground station, which made it very easy to get around London. The atmosphere in the hotel was pleasant, the bar was cozy, and the rooms were clean. The restaurant and bar were also well maintained, which added to the positive experience. Breakfast was fine — not overly extensive but more than sufficient. That said, we did face a couple of issues: • We had booked 4 rooms — 3 prepaid and 1 to be paid on arrival. However, it turned out that only 1 room had been reserved, and the other 3 had somehow been cancelled, despite being paid for. We contacted the hotel the next day. Although they couldn’t immediately find the bookings, they confirmed the payments and were able to manually recover the rooms. The cause of the error was unclear. • Additionally, one of the rooms had a noisy air conditioning unit that would start up in the middle of the night, making it difficult to sleep. Despite these issues, the staff were helpful, and we enjoyed our stay.
Clean and well appointed hotel. Right across from the tube station just 1 stop from the O2. Rooms are really well equipped, clean and comfortable. All staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good too. Overall a fabulous stay and would definitely recommend.
We had heard from friends how good the hotel was and also seen the reviews, but the welcome we received was even better than we had hoped for. Particular thanks to Curtis and his colleague on reception. Extremely friendly welcome and outstanding customer service. The common areas and the rooms were very clean and everyone we spoke to very polite and friendly. Our only issue was with the parking at Morrisons. Instructions unclear but you must pay when you arrive, not when you exit with your car. Fortunately a lovely young lady on reception at checkout helped smooth the way. So sorry we didn't take your name.
Service: very friendly. We were welcomed in such a good way. Rooms: not huge, but good enough. Clean. The room gets very dark so good for difficult sleepers. Amenities: free wifi, but could have been better. Breakfast: we didn’t had any, because in our opinion it was too expensive (£30 per person per day). Location: we liked it. Next to the train a bus station, perfect. Price: still not cheap, almost €200 per night. Maybe it had something to do with the many artists who were in town? The only thing that would have been nice if they had offered us something for the inconvenience we had due to a fire alarm that rang in the middle of the night. Yes it wasn’t their fault, however neither ours. I think you should in some way compensate your guests even if it is just a drink. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
I liked the location and the feel of the place. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The room is a good size and very modern. If you're going to a show at the O2 or the London Stadium or even if you're just visiting London to see the city, this is a great location situated opposite Canning Town station. I would recommend having the breakfast. There is a great selection and there isn't much outside of the hotel if you are looking for a full English.
