18 of us recently stayed here for a hen weekend. The barn is gorgeous and has everything you need for a home from home stay. We booked some add ons which were also brilliant! The owners could not do enough for us. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again, thanks for a fantastic weekend

This beautiful place was the perfect setting for my family to spend a memorable weekend together. It really isn’t just for hen parties….. the layout lends itself beautifully to families and friends coming together; yet having plenty of space to have quiet time if needed. It’s ideally situated close to the town which is seeped in history, and has an array of beautiful shops, boutiques and bars/restaurants. The owners are always on hand and very attentive to any needs during their stay. Would absolutely recommend.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the holiday house in Horn Cote Country Escape and Spa. and it was an absolutely fabulous experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality that truly set the tone for the rest of our stay. Even though the hosts, Caroline and Martin, were away on their own holiday, their son Ben was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed. When some of the lights blew during our stay, Ben even managed to quickly arrange for an electrician to carry out an emergency repair, which truly showcased his commitment to making our stay as comfortable as possible. The house itself was a perfect blend of comfort and charm. It was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities you could possibly want. The views from the property were stunning, offering a peaceful and picturesque backdrop to our holiday. The hot tub was a fantastic bonus, providing the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. Whether we were taking in the beautiful surroundings or simply relaxing in the cozy living area, it was a stay to remember. We left feeling refreshed and are already planning our next visit. Me and my family stayed here for 4 nights at Christmas and it was absolutely fabulous. The house itself has a very warm and cosy feel but very spacious at the same time. The dining hall was fantastic for our Christmas dinner feast as well as the games and activities we planned. As it was Christmas the house was decorated for the occasion with a very large Christmas tree being the main event! The kitchen was perfect and had so much equipment making christmas dinner a breeze. The bedrooms were lovely with the beds being incredibly comfortable which was needed after a few drinks! Talking of relaxation the large hot tub and sauna were a total treat. Caroline and Martin are excellent hosts, very helpful and communicative from enquiry, to booking and to the stay. They really helped us to have a brilliant Christmas altogether as a family, which is unusual as we tend to split up so it was really nice to spend it together! We are so thankful to them for making our Christmas special and I am personally considering this place for my 30th this year! Would totally recommended to any groups of any kind!

It's been 2 weeks since we married at Spicer Manor and we are still on such a wedding high from the most incredible weekend! From originally viewing Spicer Manor, we knew this was the place for us. We fell head over heels for the coach house with it's beautiful wood beams and twinkling fairy lights, as well as the gorgeous house to enjoy too. The fact that this venue is exclusive to you and your wedding day is also a huge bonus! Through the entire wedding planning process, and during the whole wedding weekend, Lisa, Stacey and Cathy (and the rest of the team!) were on hand for anything and everything. Nothing was too big a job and we felt so incredibly cared for through everything. We were made to feel so welcome at all times and our guests commented on how wonderful the team were to them. Every small detail was catered for and we are extremely grateful for their organisation and hard work. The food was exquisite, provided by Andrew (Bradley's outside catering). The canapes and meal was beautifully cooked with all dietary requirements catered for. A big shout out to Jenna and the team for their brilliant attentiveness to us and our guests too! Andrew also cooked a beautiful breakfast for us on the Sunday morning - delicious! We enjoyed a 2 night stay at Spicer Manor, with friends and family being able to join us on the Friday night in the house before the wedding day. Cathy, Stacey and Lisa were on hand during the Friday to help with the set up of the coach house. We made use of their beautiful props (free to use!) and they really enhanced the look of our decor. We are so happy that we came across Spicer Manor and have never looked back. This is the most incredible venue with the wedding couple at the heart of everything. We were made to feel so special and truly had the most unforgettable wedding day/weekend! A 5 star venue with a 5 star team - we will never forget anything you have done for us! Can we do it all again please!? Thank you so much!

2 weeks ago we got married at Spicer Manor and had the most amazing wedding day and weekend at the venue. Spicer Manor is a stunning wedding venue with the most beautiful views surrounding it. The manor is finished to such a high standard with lovely bedrooms and numerous cozy living spaces, not forgetting hot tubs to enjoy! The Coach House is where we got married and the majority of our wedding was held. It is stunning, a rustic barn type style featuring wooden beams and fairy lights. From meeting Lisa and Sarah at Spicer Manor for our initial viewing we knew we had chosen the perfect venue for us. They really cared about us, everything was more personable than any other venue we had visited. The staff are amazing people. Lisa, Stacey, Cathy and the wider team we dealt with were all really friendly and helpful, nothing was ever too much to ask, they really care about their couples having the best experience. Lisa, Stacey and Cathy all helped us decorate on Friday setting up the venue to how we wanted, to being on hand on our wedding day, checking in on us making sure everything was running ok and we were having the best day. We are so grateful to the team looking after us so perfectly on our day and making it even more memorable. The food was delicious, thanks to Andrew Bradley catering and team. Our guests commented on how tasty it was and what a wonderful wedding venue Spicer Manor is. A special thank you to Stacey, our wedding coordinator. All your support during our wedding planning, answering our questions and giving advice was much appreciated, to all your help setting up on Friday with the beautiful arch you decorated with my bridesmaid to everything you did for us on our wedding day. We had the best wedding day and wedding weekend in such a beautiful venue. We got married at Spicer Manor in September 2024 and had the best weekend ever, all the staff were brilliant. All of our guests said how amazing the venue was. Would highly recommend ☺️

A stunning establishment fantastic location showcasing the South Yorkshire landscape. The venue is perfect for weddings and any celebrations. The staff are brilliant with the attention to detail to make a perfect day, very impressive. We were at my nephews wedding a brilliant day from start to finish. I was so impressed with the layout and decor for the wedding events. 3 course meal quick service and quality food. You wouldn't be disappointed and highly recommended.

Went for Christmas party. Very fancy place with bar area and upstairs dining area. Limited options for vegetarians but the salad was delicious. The lemon raspberry cheesecake was to die for, the ragu was ok. The music and host were lovely and the staff was very sweet and helpful. Enjoyed it, also has good parking!

We wanted a celebration of life party which ended up as a surprise Wedding. Katie, Emma and the team at Bertie's were just so helpful and compassionate at every stage of the party organising process. The room looked amazing, the food was great, can recommend highly enough. Thank you!

I would like to say a BIG thankyou to the Berties staff for the hire of the Cocktail Lounge on Saturday 13th May 2023 For my 60th Birthday Tea Party. 58 girl's in their 50's style outfit's. First I would like to say a very big THANK YOU to all the staff at Bertie’s. The venue was perfect, 80 people attended my wife’s celebration of life. The staff at Bertie’s couldn’t have been more helpful, Katie, (the manager)was wonderful, her organisation of the event was first class. The chef did me very proud, a perfect selection of hot and cold food, with a desert and Cheese board. Also Bertie’s supplied tea and coffee. I would recommend this venue to anyone wanting a FIRST CLASS venue!

Wonderful field study centre run by the local authority, with ponds, woodlands, adventure playground, lab with field kit and microscopes, and dormitories and catering for schools staying over.

Lots of activities during the Easter holidays. Big play ground for the kids to blow off steam. Little cafe with simple snacks and drinks and NOT over priced, which is perfect. There is toilet facilities. Car park isn't huge but we had no problems parking.

My daughter went with with her school recently she has had the best time she had nothing but good things to say after a 3 day stay she loved the experience! Activities were great the beds were comfy and the staff was amazing! She has a metabolic condition so I was quite worried about her food but the kitchen staff is absolutely fantastic, accommodated her in every way we had constant communication about her food and things she wanted to try so at no point she felt left out, we were changing and updating her plan every day so she could have everything everyone else was having, Couldn’t say enough nice thing!

Brilliant playground used by kids of all ages. Only open during half term which is the only fly in the ointment unfortunately. Activity sessions are brilliant, our kids really enjoy them.
