Fantastic pub to visit either for food or a drink. Food is exceptional and John the owner goes above and beyond for his customers. I've been coming in this pub for 35 years now and highly recommend it.

Enjoyed lunch in the bar area as tables booked in Eating area. Food and Beverages really good. I had the Goats cheese salad with plain fries (fries hot and crunchy, just right). Other family. Members enjoyed Philly steak wraps with loaded fries. Friendly, polite staff. Good ales.. 😊😊.

The Oakwood has a lovely atmosphere, I went with my daughter a couple of years ago and went back today, nothing has changed, tasty food, tacos to die for, this time we had a wrap there was too much sauce unfortunately which is why I have given 4 stars. Prices were very good. I would go back again.

First time at Windy Harbour for a wedding. Lovely setting Staff very attentive. The food was hot and okay. The only criticism is the toilets, which need updating, and only two ladies' toilets for large wedding receptions is not good enough. The bar prices were okay still pricey for some drinks

Visit here due to friend’s wedding. Its combines great rural scenery and historic cottage atmosphere. Bit hard to find by only postcode. Recommend if around and for peak national park trip.

Revisiting after too long, this is a wonderful restaurant. Great atmosphere, friendly service and amazing food reminded me why I love it here. Very reasonably priced for such high quality food. Entry via quite steep stairs would be a problem though if mobility is very restricted.

Lovely hidden gem, worth walking down the stairs. Friendly welcoming staff that love giving you a nice evening. Great dishes and attention to detail. Really saved the day for us with a most enjoyable dinner experience.

My partner and I came here for the first time this evening. We didn’t book and it was very busy, but there was luckily two tables left. The service was very fast and we were out in an hour. Food was delicious, would especially recommend the pizzas. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be returning!!

What a fantastic place this is! The food is excellent and the staff are really lovely too, they have an amazing selection of cakes, and the pot of tea we had was also lovely! It's fog friendly and the man behind the counter was really good with our dog :) I can highly recommend this place to everyone especially if you have a pooch!

Almost exactly halfway between my home in Dumbarton and my daughters in Ilford and with a Travelodge within 10 minutes walk it seemed the perfect place to break the journey. I had a Nacho Burger and my wife had Mac & Cheese. Both were delicious and satisfying although she did leave room for some cake. I washed mine down with a pint of Ron’s Comet Pale Ale brewed “out the back”! Might have to stop off again on the way home!

Absolutely fantastic 🙂 Food ordered over the phone with friendly staff, I was given a timeframe to collect - food was hot and ready at that time. Staff were smiley and attentive. Food was INCREDIBLE and really reasonably priced. Wholly recommended and we'll be ordering again very soon!

The food was undeniably delicious and reasonably priced - the mac n cheese and parsnip fries are delightful! It would be great if they could be open for lunch and dinner all days of the week. Only downside was the incredibly unfriendly and non-engaging female members of staff - the male staff were great but the female bar staff was particularly hostile and without a smile...a real let down. (I've attached their latest menu... The website seems to be very out-of-date)

This pub rocks. It has customers from a range of demographics, so I felt right at home immediately. The staff were very friendly, and indeed, quite a lot of the customers appeared to have been staff at some point. There was live music in the attic, which turned out to be the former front man from the Inspiral Carpets, so this place is no parochial frippery. It has pulling power and I can quite see why. We spent hours just chatting, petting others' dogs and going with the flow. A wonderful pub.

Came here when staying in the local area and we had such a good meal we ended up coming back a few days later! Delicious food on both occasions and reasonable prices. All staff were so lovely and friendly and is definitely a great dog friendly place for a meal!

Went for a family meal, food was wonderful and piping hot, service with a smile and this place is Dog friendly. Reasonably priced drinks. Ideal town centre pub, very close to the railway station and bus stops. Highly recommended, we will return.

We brought family over from America and had a party of 13 booked in for New Year’s Eve. The service was superb and all the food came out on time and piping hot, not easy with a big group. Everyone said how great everything was and how much they enjoyed the evening.

Went in here last Wednesday for lunch with my family and the dog. Had some lovely food and the dog loved it. Would definitely visit again and would highly recommend 👍 We had 2 of the tapas selection and the food was tasty and good value. The place itself looks great and the staff were all so friendly and a credit to the business. Kobe had the doggy sausage 😊 I wish we had managed to get a better seat as in the main area it was a bit loud. If the weather was better we would have sat outside in the lovely seating area. And the seating around the stairs area was full up. The menu itself was fab, great selection and good value for money. The food was tasty and very appetising. Will definitely be back again next time I'm passing through Glossop with the dog. It's a great venue for a good meal. Thanks for a fab lunch ❤️

Fabulous breakfast as always, however one of my corn fritters was burnt and inedible and I left it and pointed this out to the waitress . I was then expecting someone from the kitchen to at least apologise. After 20 mins of waiting I went to the counter and ordered 2nd cups of coffee and asked for them to be complimentary. This was granted and apologies were made. Turns out the waitress hadn't mentioned the burnt fritter to anyone. The error was sorted in my eyes with the extra coffee ! Just a slight training issue to address x
