Out walking and called in as we were passing. First time visit. From previous experiences elsewhere some golf clubs can be very aloof and unwelcoming. Not so here. Lovely staff and we were made to feel welcome by everyone we saw. The dining area is light, spacious and comfortable. Toilet facilities modern and spotless. Extensive and good value menu. Food was very well cooked and presented. Can highly recommend the club sandwich (if you can manage it all) and creamed mushrooms on toast. We will certainly revisit.

Absolutely brilliant experience. Visited early on a Friday night. Service was spot on, waiting time was perfect. Didn't feel slow or too rushed. Greeted warmly and with a complimentary shot of Uzo. Greek music playing in the background and lots of trinkets from the island really help set the tone. The menu is really nicely set out and helped give a real family feel to the restaurant. Had deep fried feta with a jam as a start and my wife had baked aubergine. They're not messing about with portion sizes here. This Yorkshireman was very happy. Both were delicious. Main course, I had the Odyssey mixed grill and my wife had the Greek meatballs. Both were delicious. Mine was again a hefty portion and I left the restaurant feeling full but not uncomfortably so. My oy critique (and not enough to change from a 5* experience) is that the mixed grill was served with a sheet of grease paper underneath which went soggy and could've been mixed into the food. I'd have preferred this without. They have bottles of Mythos available which is nice and was served in a frosted glass. All told, 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 drinks came to just under £80 and was worth every penny. Will absolutely be back and singing from the rafters about it. Can't believe it's took me this long to visit!

Went to Odyssey on Saturday 23/11/24 as a group of four for a special occasion. The food was great, it was fresh, tasty and plentiful. Very clean restaurant and facilities with a lovely atmosphere but above all the service was another level some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. A must visit if in Chesterfield we will be back

Got lucky. Just turned up at 4pm and wasn't busy so we got a table. Excellent food, chargrilled chicken and lamb with fried potatoes and really tasty fresh bread. Very recommended 👌

We went for a meal after looking at the reviews and were not disappointed. The food is freshly cooked to order and therefore takes a while, so expect to wait a little longer than other restaurants. Beautifully presented and deliciously tasty and most definitely worth the wait though. They also cater for individual palates too, so you can ask for your dish to be tweaked if needed … ie minus garlic! The deserts are incredible … would highly recommend the baklava! We met the owners who were so welcoming and can’t wait to visit again.

We visited here for the second time last night and can’t express just how lovely this place is. On both occasions the food has been absolutely divine, the waitress more than helpful with us and our grandson (even fetching him some pens & paper to play with) and the service has been exceptional. I had the vegetarian mushroom & halloumi, my daughter the pasta and my husband chicken iskender. All were beautiful. We will definitely be continued repeat customers. Thank you

What a lovely place to have my Birthday. Everyone was so generally friendly, from entering and to leaving. The atmosphere is brilliant with the Italian background music and the decor. The share starter for 2 outstanding ! So was the baked hooped pasta dish so filling, plus my family had the meatballs and spaghetti and ham pizza. Never felt rushed , and when they found out it's my birthday they brought an icecream with candle and sang to me!! Such lovely owners and amazing food.

This is an absolute gem of a little restaurant. The antipasto starter is fantastic and the specials are changed regularly to fit with a theme. All of the food I have tried here is made with some true passion. Wine menu is great and very reasonably priced.

We came in on a Tuesday evening for a family meal and thought it would be quiet because it was mid-week but this place is clearly very popular and rightly so! It’s the first time we’d tried it after hearing great things and we were blown away by the service, quality of food, decor … just everything was lovely. It’s so hard to find places offering authentic and good quality Italian dishes. Everything was so fresh and cooked to perfection. We tried pizzas, the mushroom ravioli and had the BEST Arancini! This place is perfect for occasions, family meals or a romantic date. If anyone asks for a recommendation for an Italian this would be my no.1

Highly recommended, came here for my wife’s birthday with my son, although the restaurant was full with people waiting for tables, staff where friendly, attentive and got us to our table shortly after our reservation. Food came out in a reasonable time, well sized portions and competitively priced. Will be coming again.

Me and my partner have been here a few times now and thoroughly enjoyed it every time. The food is absolutely incredible, the staff are so attentive and can't do enough for you, even when they're busy. The atmosphere is lovely and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. This is definitely going to be our new favourite restaurant.

Food was lovely, big portion sizes for the price, drinks also reasonably priced. Food was brought over fairly quickly, but rather slow bringing drinks. It was a busy Friday evening so this wasn't an issue.

Difficult to grade The Peacock because lots was 5* but other things were disappointing. It’s possibly a brilliant place to eat and we just were unlucky. Anyone can have an off-day, so I won’t mention the grumpy waitress and will instead say that two of the serving staff were pleasant and friendly. The menu looked great for both carnivores and veggies. I chose the prawn cocktail, which was tasty and well presented. I then had the hot smoked salmon salad. Not sure why it was described as hot, as it was all cold (& not spicy). The salad was pleasant enough, and I had a side order of potatoes which were cooked perfectly. There was too much salmon (in fact the dish was mainly salmon). We also ordered a halloumi burger and fries. This was simply too salty to eat. The fries were COVERED in salt. Maybe there was an accident in the kitchen, or perhaps the chef got distracted and salted them twice. We switched with less salty chips from a different plate. (From someone in our family, in case you’re worried we stole them from an adjoining table.) Chicken wings, sausages and regular burger all good. Pudding a big disappointment. I was keen to try the waffle with strawberries and ice cream. The strawberries were...one strawberry. Just one. It was perfectly ripe, placed decoratively on top, but really? One strawberry is a garnish, not ‘strawberries.’ The ice cream wasn’t vanilla (had assumed it would be). It was salted caramel (they like salt here). Would have been better if that had been mentioned in the menu (or by the waitress). The waffle however was warm and fresh and perfect.

Came here yesterday for a Sunday lunch and it was so busy, but the staff were really friendly and attentive and the Sunday lunch came out fairly quickly and was so good, definitely recommend

Delicious food, great service, and atmosphere keep us coming back. The Teriyaki Aubergine starter is out of this world! We are so glad this is within walking distance of Cow Close Barn; we would drive to it anyway, but being walking distance from the holiday cottage is a bonus!

The Peacock at Cutthorpe is a lovely pub with amazing views of a countryside field. We already pre-ordered our meals prior to our visit. The food was amazing 👏 as always, and the service was excellent 👌. We arrived 20 mins early to our booking, but we were waiting 15 mins after our booking time. Overall, it was a good visit ☺️

The Sunday roast was excellent. It was quiet when we went in at 4pm but that's no issue. Had a pint of Topical Storm which is possibly the best pint I've had this year!

Absolutely delicious Sunday lunch today. Beautifully presented, generous portion, cooked to perfection and served by very friendly attentive staff. We had to wait a little while but it was well worth the wait. Highly recommend The Anchor - will definitely return.

I’ve had 2 meals here recently, one with my husband and one with a friend group for a Christmas dinner. Both times the food has been amazing and plentiful. Lovely, friendly staff too. Looking forward to my next visit.

Absolutely love this pub. The new owners have created a wonderful venue to eat and drink and chill. The food is second to none in town, absolutely stunning, they should be on MasterChef. The staff are so friendly and accommodating.

Went for a meal earlier and it was bangin ! I'm leaving a review because it's New Year's Day, they were so busy when we got there but they never turn anyone away. We waited around 20 minutes for a table, we got a drink at the bar and my little one was entertained with colouring with the crayons they provided. The staff are always really lovely and helpful. The real treat is the food ! I had the veggie sausages with garlicky mash and onion gravy and roasted carrots. The portion was generous but I also ordered a side of Yorkshire pud and greens which was a good choice, the kale and green beans were so vibrant and fresh and complimented the dish perfectly. My partner had fish and chips, which he said was the best fish and chips he'd had in ages. The fish was flaky and the batter was light and crispy. The curry sauce is recommended but you have to pay a bit extra, but definitely worth it, you could also sub the peas if you're not a fan. Chef kiss *** Thank you and happy new year to you all !

Amazing pub and inn. We stayed in one of their wonderful cottages for a couple of nights. Very good value and close to local attractions. Food and service is top notch. Would recommend.

I came for tea with two friends on 16 December. The whole place was beautifully decorated for Christmas. So festive and welcoming. The service was amazing. The Barman brought our drinks to the table and even poured our Prosecco! The food was delicious and a great night was had by all. Just what you want when you’re spending Money to come out. The open fire was warm and welcoming

We came here for a family Sunday lunch. You are not able to book, but the staff were great at managing the queue and taking our phone number to call when the table was ready. I had the beef burger (happy that they now serve this on Sundays!) It was very good. 2 small patties, plenty of cheese and bacon and served with a good amount of nice crispy fries and a really lovely side salad. My wife had the roast beef which was also good. Plenty of lovely meat and lots of nice veg. Service was great. Even though the staff were rushed off their feet, they were still all really pleasant and friendly. I'm sure we will be back again for a family meal.

Our first visit and it was a good one. Excellent young staff and first class food (bland of beef for me). And a great wine list which we chose an excellent Greek wine from. The decor was modern and clean - love the fake library wallpaper. Will defo return.

Had Christmas dinner here and it was absolutely the best dining experience our family has had, even PK my father in law was impressed, his meat and two veg culinary standards are Mount Everest. The staff were excellent, the way Christmas dinner was presented and timed was perfect. Thank you to the chef and all the staff who made our family Christmas dinner the best. Highly recommend the tickled trout to everyone.

Really lovely place. Food was fabulous. I was very jealous of my husband who ordered the pie. Atmosphere was chilled bit buzzing and the staff were very attentive. The owner/chef came and spoke to people at the end of the night which was a nice touch. Cannot wait to go back.

Went to see the farewell performance of "Groovy cats" Excellent music and great venue. It was rammed to the rafters and the bar staff worked super hard to keep things moving and were cheerful at doing it. Surely a credit to their product.

Great pub. Good atmosphere and good real ales. Only issue is they seem to be over reliant on brampton ale.
