Having had a lovely walk over to Monsel Head and back we were after a quick bite to eat and had seen this place when parking up earlier. Lovely service, very quaint and busy but there was a table available. Service was quick and very friendly, prices are very reasonable and portion sizes were great - even my son was full which is rare. Will definitely be coming back in the future.

Really lovely tea rooms, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Dog friendly and our border collie soon settled down for a nap in the conservatory where we ate our lunch. We both had the Derbyshire Oatcake with butchers sausage and onion marmalade. There were two thick and delicious sausages and plenty of marmalade. The dressed salad was lovely too and the homemade coleslaw really nice. We'd walked to Ashford in the Water from Bakewell and happened upon the tearooms by chance. Would recommend.

Lovely place and excellent service. Sat outside on the small table and enjoyed our sausage and bacon sandwiches and coffee. Highly recommend if passing.

Stopping by with no reservations with a pram I popped in to make sure we could get a table and the staff were welcoming and accommodating allowing us to choose the table right for us, we chose the snug as to not disturb other customers. We were not forgotten about with orders taken, drinks arrived and food ordered taken and brought out within a short time. The food itself was tasty and a good portion size at a reasonable price. Parking is free outside but is limited but we had no problem arriving at 6pm

We stopped off here on a Tuesday evening after a circular walk. We hadn't booked and it was busy but the staff found us a table. We both had drinks and the Beef and Unicorn pie which was very tasty and very filling. Excellent value for money. Other food menu items looked really good and we would definitely return. Service was excellent, very friendly and welcoming. The pub had outdoor seating at the front and beer garden at the rear. Limited parking spaces but can park on streets nearby.

Booked a table here as we were staying in a little cottage in Sheldon, from the moment we stepped in every member of staff was so welcoming and friendly, we ordered the prawn pil pil and olives followed by the pie and fish and chips, the prawns and olives were some of the best we have ever tasted and the mains were absolutely delicious, the beef in the pie literally melted in the mouth, absolutely amazing service, will definitely be back next time we come to visit, can’t recommend enough would give more than five stars if we could 🤩

We didn’t stay here on our holiday in the Peak District, but would definitely consider it next time. We went to the pub twice during our last trip, and it has been one of the best pubs I’ve been to in the UK. The staff was beyond friendly/accommodating to my family (kids and my four-legged pal), and the food was great. The Sunday roast was amazing, and they actually took the time to season the sides like the potatoes and parsnips. The banana mousse was also really great way to top off the meal. Will definitely go again on my next holiday.

My husband and I stayed at the Ashford Arms on 1st Jan 2025 after visiting friends further south for NY and wanted to visit Chatsworth on our way home to the NE. Picked Ashford for its reviews and proximity to Chatsworth. We were not disappointed. Lovely, well appointed room, ate in the bar and we had (separately) a great quinoa salad and a steak, both were excellent and just what we wanted. A good nights sleep and another excellent breakfast in the morning; poached eggs for him and pancakes with compote for me. Service through out was professional and attentive. Can't rate it highly enough. Read pamphlet in the loos about the chain and they definitely seem to have the right ethos for a strong and successful company. Would definitely stay again when in the area.

We stayed a couple of nights and ate a meal both evenings. What a treat! The rooms were first class. Extremely comfortable, spacious with White Company toiletries. From the moment we walked through the door the service was exemplary. We felt welcome and there was no delay at check-in. The evening meals were delicious and there was a good selection on the menu. A very relaxing atmosphere. A top class pub and hotel well deserving of our 5* rating. We can’t wait to return!

We stopped by and were really impressed. The location is fantastic, and the pub has a lovely, welcoming decor. The menu is expansive, with plenty of options — including vegetarian choices — and the food didn’t disappoint. The pie was packed full of tender beef, and the beer selection was excellent. Leah was great — friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about both the food and drinks. They accommodated us as walk-ins without any fuss, which was a bonus. Would love to come back and stay overnight next time!
