Tom has worked with our child for a year leading up to her SATs and we've been very impressed with his ability to work at her speed and keep her engaged every lesson. Her maths confidence and ability has improved no end and she passed her SATs. Without his help we doubt we would have had the result that we did.

This company was recommended to me by several friends and I highly recommend them too. I have been using Acorn Tutors for over a year to support my children (12 and 10) with Maths and Literacy. The quality of the teaching is excellent, with innovative methods and clever use of technology to engage and enable children. The rapport that the tutor has built with my two (who are very different learners) is based on empathic understanding of children, and obviously a sound knowledge of psychology! I like that the tutor also took the time to email the children's teachers to liaise with them. We used Acorn Tutors upon numerous recommendations during the unfortunate COVID-19 lockdown of 2020. Once it was clear that the Year 6 SATS were not going ahead we utilised Tom's experience and professionalism for twice weekly Zoom lessons for our son in preparation for starting Year 7 at a new much larger secondary school. Tom's professionalism and 'buddy' approach chats really helped him, and ourselves, through a difficult and frustrating time.
