James has been excellent with my son’s 11plus preparation. He understands at what level my son was as looked to address his areas to improve. He has some amazing techniques that helped my son to quickly answer questions . Overall very happy with his tuition as it helped my son get through all his preferred schools

James and Maxine are great tutors! The sessions were always informative and enjoyable. My child had weekly sessions and received really good scores for all 3 tests she did.

My child loved studying at 11+ Prep School. James and Maxine are excellent tutors; they are really responsible and approachable, they always answered my phone calls and emails, and they care about their students' education. As a parent, I found it very reassuring. I was amazed at the progress my child made so quickly after attending their lessons - Maxine and James know every 11+ topic inside-out, and my child went into his exams high in confidence. He is now in the grammar school of his choice.

I contacted James about 11+ tuition for my child in a panic very close to their exams and I can say that it was the best decision I made. There are many tutors out there and I honestly saw it as a business set up to exploit parents keen on grammar places for their children. Whilst ther is a cost involved James offered me cost saving options such as group sessions. I opted for 1:1 tuition because my child’s confidence was previously knocked and James was patient, encouraging and and even on days where my child was clearly fed up James was understanding and reassuring towards (myself and ) my child. Let’s face it.. us parents need reassurance too. I am not familiar with the exam styles or the types of questions. James is knowledgeable and knows what is required by each school or tests. When my child mentioned what appeared to be a new style of questioning he went away and researched until he was able to prepare them for that topic. My child could not have secured their first choice without his help. I would very highly recommend James if you are looking for an 11+ tutor.

My daughter started with James in his year 5 English greater depth class. From the beginning we were hugely impressed by his expertise. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed James's class and improved so much in SPAGs and Comprehension. Around June she also started the creative writing session with James and we are really glad that we took that decision. Her writing improved immensely. What was best about James's creative writing is his feedback. His detailed line by line feedback helped my daughter understand where and how she can enhance her writing. The best thing about James's sessions is that he teaches in a friendly atmosphere where the children are allowed to express themselves freely. My daughter received an offer from the Henrietta Barnett School and I thank James for his help all the way of our 11+ journey. I strongly recommend James's sessions.
