We had an absolutely brilliant experience working with the FirstLight team. After being disappointed by several companies Neal really took on board what we wanted. The team (headed up by Dave) were informative throughout, even keeping me up to date while I was away on holiday. Incredibly clean and tidy at the end of each working day. Any changes we made were taken onboard without any fuss. The quality of workmanship is clear to see and we now have a beautiful back garden that we can really enjoy and show off. The FirstLight team were great from start to finish. We wanted a patio doing after having some work done on the house - Neal was really helpful with ideas, designs and advising on ways to keep to budget. All of the team were extremely professional and friendly. Most importantly we’ve been really impressed with the quality of their work. It has been finished to a really high standard. They kept the site as tidy as possible. We were also away on holiday for some of the work and the team kept us updated with pictures and were always available to chat to if needed. Would highly recommend!

We had James and Murphy in for two weeks (with Liam supervising) putting in some raised decking in the back garden. They were extremely considerate of us and our neighbours at all times, and kept us fully informed about the progress of the work, even when we didn't ask. Our garden has restricted access so some of the aspects of deliveries were complicated but this was handled seamlessly. Their quality of work is very good and they involved us when decisions needed to be made, giving advice but leaving it ultimately up to us. They left the space incredibly tidy when they left, and it looks like we have a completely new garden! They were one of the best contractor teams we've had working on the house.

FirstLight Landscaping are a good company to work with when you're looking for a competent landscaping company that can project manage really well. We were looking to refresh the garden, as how we use the space is functionally different than the previous owners of our home. With FLL's designs (via Neal), we were able to discuss and alter them as often as we needed. When we eventually got to the work actually beginning (on Liam's side), their team were really flexible, and allowed us to add or change things in the design when we realised other needs for the space. Also, Ian and Rich, who worked on-site for the duration of the project, were lovely people who did great work, and knew a lot from their own experience, that helped inform when there were potentially better design choices. Overall, FLL are a trustworthy company, and I'd be happy to use their services again if the chance came up.

Jack and his team did a very professional job on laying the grass in our back garden. They were precise, lovely to work with and did the job in no time. We are so so pleased with how it’s transformed our garden. Would highly recommend!

I had a few other conversations with other companies like easigrass amongst others but jack's workmanship, his products and the whole communication till the final product was just perfect, I will hopefully be using these guys again as they also have a maintenance service in hand too! We have recently had artificial grass installed by Your Artificial Grass Ltd and it is amazing! It has totally transformed our garden. Jack and his Team have been great , would highly recommend!

Brilliant work carried out by Dom today. The very very green patio and walls now look like new and the hot tub which looked like it had been filled with mud and creatures looks brand new again. Thanks Dom will be booking the patio maintenance as a regular thing 👌🏻👌🏻

We have worked with Helen Taylor & Associates for the past 3 years. We are a local community group, and now a Registered Charity ( No. 1189048) , which was set up in 2018 to help maintain and improve the parks which abut the River Wharfe in Ilkley. We had lots of ideas and plans about what we needed to do to achieve this goal. I wanted to convert my back garden to incorporate a single floor extension and a courtyard garden in the other half. Helen visited for a garden planning day and produced a very stylish design, which I has completely transformed the space. It's a great feeling every time I look at the garden through extension bifold doors - the icing on the cake of this development, which in all respects has exceeded my expectations. I've found Helen very helpful and a pleasure to work with - both at the time of planning and since.

We wanted our garden redesigned to make better use of it, but had little idea what to expect. Helen took us carefully through each stage of the design process from initial ideas to planting, taking time to listen and discuss options. There was even a visit to the nursery to help select plants. We are glad that we took the plunge to have a garden redesign - it was an enjoyable process. We have definitely benefitted from Helen’s creativity and expertise. The result - a lovely green space, full of interesting plants and views.

When we bought our house, we were didn’t know where to start with the overgrown garden. We wanted to maintain the established plants and borders but make it low maintenance and easy to stay on top of. Annabel and Sarah created a contemporary garden design, which incorporated everything we were looking for in a low maintenance design. First used this company a few years ago to revamp garden after building work. Sarah provided an amazing plan making sure all the areas most viewed from indoors were exciting and colourful. Because she listens so carefully and then actually tries to fit our brief so closely it has been a very painless experience. I have a small to medium sized garden on a slope, a long list of things I want to do in the space and a relatively small budget - a triple challenge! Sarah really listened and talked through all my ideas and came up with a brilliant design that incorporates lots of planting space for veg, herbs and flowers, a fruit garden, wildlife pond and seating area, whilst dealing with the slope and somehow making it seem bigger than before! I recently had a One Day garden consultation with Sarah to give me some inspiration and advice on what to do with our garden (we’ve recently moved into a new build house with a fairly large garden area that we wanted to make the best of with some lovely planting while also making it kid friendly for our toddler and find space for a shed!). Sarah spent the morning with me thoroughly going through ideas for types of plants, positioning of plants, garden layout and helped with lots of problem solving too (as the garden space we have has a fairly challenging layout). It was a really enjoyable morning and I liked the collaborative approach that Sarah took, exploring my preferences at every point. From the morning’s session, Sarah produced a wonderfully detailed garden proposal for us and specific instructions for planting. Sarah’s plant knowledge is really impressive, she knew exactly what was best for our soil and the Yorkshire climate. As someone with minimal gardening experience, I now feel like I have a route forwards to creating a beautiful garden whereas before I didn’t know where to begin!! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!
