Stuart and the team were incredibly helpful, making the entire process seamless. Ordering wood online can be challenging, but they provided samples to help us find the perfect colour and designed the wall dividers to fit flawlessly. Excellent service—I highly recommend them!

Nick did an amazing job fitting 2 doors last year (pic1), so we had him back to fit 5 second floor doors. He overcame plenty of issues with the door frames and door handles but with perseverance he did a fantastic job. He’s very particular which is really good and does not do shabby work, he’s booked in for another job which I wouldn’t have anyone else to do. Definitely recommend 100%. 12/12/23 I’d thought I’ll add a few more comments and pictures as I’m unable to post a new review. We had some bespoke work done for understairs storage at home before Christmas. Work was of very high standard with good attention to detail. Nick is professional and friendly, works unobtrusively and always cleaned up at the end of the day.

We had Nick build fitted wardrobes with sliding doors. He’s was extremely helpful with identifying a supplier for the doors, we chose IKEA internals which he assembled into the space we had giving us wall to wall wardrobes. He also installed the sliding doors which gave a great finish to the whole project. He also fitted some made to measure shelving in a relatively small gap which gave some additional storage. He was also very helpful getting the paint to match the IKEA colour. A separate project we intended to do ourselves but Nick correctly convinced us he would do it better, he built panelling along one wall of the bedroom which looks great. Always communicated what he was doing and very flexible if we couldn’t be in the house.

After five years of having Nick as our carpenter it has suddenly dawned on me we have never left a review!! What a terrible oversight. Nick is amazing. No job too big or too small and each undertaken with meticulous care and attention to detail. Nick has moved and refitted doors, built a wardrobe, redesigned a fitted wardrobe, rebuilt stairs and repaired several external wet rot damaged window ledges. We have been more than happy with all the work Nick has undertaken. Living in an old house, having moved from a modern vicarage, there are always maintenance carpentry jobs that need doing to keep the house in good repair and no walls are straight making many jobs challenging. But Nick undertakes them all with careful consideration, patience and expertise. He is honest and trustworthy and we are thrilled to have found Nick and wouldn’t have any other carpenter. We would recommend Woods Contemporary Carpentry unreservedly.

I have been using Lewis and the Team for some time now, the quality of workmanship is excellent, Lewis consistently goes out of his way to make sure we are looked after and Gareth and Craig are great guys, I would highly recommend.

Lewis advised and replaced the bannisters on our stairs. He did a great job and was polite and courteous. I will be using his services again…. And I did, this time to replace all our internal doors with oak ones. Craig and Garath did an amazing job; they were really friendly and polite and left no mess.

Gareth who works for Lewis is fantastic and the workmanship in fitting our kitchen has been incredible. There has been a lot of pride taken in making everything top Notch. The experience from start to finish has been fantastic! I was given a really reasonable quote, and though additional costs were added (due to extra work which needed to be carried out) these were also really reasonably priced and I was kept well informed about it before the work was carried out. I'd also discovered what can only be described as a nightmare of hidden pipework under the old larder (before work was due to be carried out), and though my own worries about this caused delays with the work starting, Lewis was really supportive in addressing this and was really quick to respond to all of my concerns. Garath fitted my new cabinets, moved my extractor fan/boxing, replaced my windowsill and also worked on a few extra areas in the kitchen and I'm honestly impressed with how good it all looks! All his work has been topnotch and throughout the process he was always polite and took the trouble to answer any questions I had. Work was also finished really quickly which was a bonus! My thanks to you both - can't recommend highly enough!

We've used Yilmaz for several projects - the most recent of which was a revamp of our hall & stairway including panneling, understairs hidden storage, replacement bannisters, spindles in oak - all delivered to a superb standard - Yilmaz is polite, punctual, tidy & attention to detail is incredible. highly recommend him (and the finished article does have a bannister on the wall side also!)

Yilmaz did a quality job on my kitchen floor and cabinets, and replaced a very poor bath panel. A very tidy worker, he offered a discount when the job proved less difficult than anticipated. Highly recommended, and he is a nice guy too!

Yilmaz has done several jobs for me over the past few years, hanging new doors, making coats cupboard, making shelves, built in bookcase, new front door to name a few, always working to very high standards. He is polite and respectful of my home. Recently he completed a tricky kitchen refit which included resizing an existing larder, for which he made a bespoke door which perfectly matched the rest of the unit doors beautifully and custom made a laundry/utility cupboard.

We found Yilmaz through Hampshire Trading Standards and could not be more pleased. He recently fitted our kitchen, plus laid wood floor and new skirting throughout the downstairs of our house. His work is of an extremely high standard, he’s professional, hard working and tidy. We would not hesitate to recommend him and already have our next project lined up.

A few friends of ours recommended Bassett Carpentry for our kitchen extension. We couldn’t be happier with the work and would recommend them to anyone else. Our extension was not straight forward but Andy & Pete were so easy to deal with. They were honest and upfront with costs, and kept to the agreed price plans. Updating my review following a second job completed by Pete and Andy - excellent job again, and can thoroughly recommend - the work that they do is of the highest quality, but they are also very good post-completion at coming back for any snagging - have always felt everything is well communicated and have stuck to quoted prices. No hesitation in recommending and would certainly use them again.

Andy and Pete, with Nick and Graham, carried out our loft conversion this year and we are so happy with their work. What we liked best was their time-keeping (they ran exactly to schedule) and costing (they ran exactly to quote, except for some extras that we requested). As important was their pleasantness in working with. They are very courteous, great communication, and any problems were listened to carefully and a sensible solution found. Our project was quite large (dormer L-shape loft conversion, complete reroof, chimney repoint, 2 new bathrooms and fitted cupboards and wardrobes). Their workmanship is of a very high standard and we strongly recommend them.

Well it’s been nearly a year since Pete and Andy and the team took on my loft conversion. I can say that their professionalism, skill and just hard work finished my project on time to the day !!! Mitchell O'born Carpentry did a fantastic job. Fitting very heavy doors upto 50kg with precison lining up the new to old hinge cutouts. 11 doors fitted in total all matching designs but varying in size and weight. He was extremely helpful in the consultation phase and I found him to be very trustworthy, polite and very clean. I'd like to point out his level of craft is top "notch" highly recommended.
