After initially asking EJ Ryder to build us a TV cabinet, they have since been back to create a bespoke dining table, fitted loft wardrobes, built in shelving for our kitchen, clever storage based stairs for our basement, a recycled yoghurt pot vanity unit for the bathroom, new doors for our living space and a set of birch ply shelves for our new baby. I keep coming back as it's fun to co-create furniture with Edwin & the team, there are no nasty surprises and I know I will get something that I really love. I wouldn't use anybody else!

Had a great meeting with Edwin at the flat, to review bespoke wardrobe designs for the bedroom. He scanned the whole room, and looking forward to the 3D design.

Edwin, Roland and the team at East JR were great to work with. We had a weird concept that they successfully brought to life. The collaboration was effective, the communication was good, we were very happy with the price and absolutely love the finished wardrobe. Would thoroughly recommend!

I contacted EAST JR as they were close to my house in Victoria Park Village (Hackney) and I needed 2 sets of wardrobes. They understood exactly what we wanted and then took care of the build and install exactly when they said they would. EAST JR are very responsive, care deeply about detail, creative and good value. Nigel undertook several projects for us recently - making and fitting a Victorian hardwood front door, replacing a staircase and fitting shelving in a built-in wardrobe. The finished results are excellent. Nigel is very diligent, doesn't cut corners and carries out his work to a very high standard. He is pleasant, courteous and reliable and clearly takes pride in doing a good job. His charges were also reasonable and fair. It was a pleasure having him around and we would highly recommend him.

Alex came round to help fix our broken shower. He was quick to identify the issue and explained his suggested next steps clearly. He was just a pleasure the whole time and I would call him first in the case of any future plumbing issues.

We had entire reception refurbished, Ben was tasked with building a new desk. It was great experience watching craftsman building you a custom desk!

It was a pleasure to work with Ben,who is very patient and he listened to how I would use the wardrobe and we worked together on the design. He was very patient and he created a bespoke, high quality fitted wardrobe for me. I was worried that this new wardrobe, would dominate the room, but because of Ben's design and build quality this didn't happen. He has created more space both inside as a wardrobe than I had before and outside, because of how the design of the doors look when closed, even though this wardrobe is much larger than the one Ben replaced. I would highly recommend Ben to anyone who wants bespoke, high quality furniture.

Ben made and installed some storage benches for our kitchen. Ben was very communicative from first asking for a quote, seeing the space and was very prompt at providing a quote. He also provided a 3D drawing of the benches so you could easily see what he was working to. He was also able to get a colour match to a very specific green we wanted to. Ben does much of the fabrication offsite so there is minimal disruption and he installed the benches in less than 90 mins. It was less than a month from instructing to installation. The benches are made with really high quality materials and very well made. Would definitely recommend Ben for those looking for bespoke furniture. Update May 2024 We had Ben come back to renovate our understairs cupboard as what we had was quite dated and a very poor use of space. Ben gave a very thoughtful design and gave some really clever ideas as to how to maximise the space. It’s not a straightforward area so hard to do. Once the design was finished, most of it was fabricated offsite so Ben’s installation (which again not straightforward) was pretty quick only taking around 2 days. That meant limited disruption to us. The finished product is really well made and with high quality materials. Not only does the space look much better but also has given us lots of extra storage. Would definitely recommend Ben (again!)

We got Ben Hooper to do a fairly big job for us in early 2024, and I rate him very, very highly! At the initial design stages, when we talked through the scope of the work we wanted, Ben was able to provide us with a very accurate quote and clear, informative drawings showing us exactly how the job would come together. Once we had commissioned him and booked the dates in it was clear that Ben is a very capable carpenter and joiner, and skilled in general building too! He is quick, efficient, very personable and, very careful and tidy – always spent the time to hoover and clear-up at the end of the day!

I recently hired Thomas Carpentry & Joinery to make and install two alcove wardrobes in our bedroom and I couldn't be happier with the results. Our wardrobes are handmade and built to fit our space and needs perfectly. The quality of the finish is outstanding and has far exceeded my expectations - it was worth every penny! The whole process was brilliant - Ben was incredibly helpful in supporting us to get what we wanted, and he communicated with us throughout. The installation was quick, efficient and stress-free, and we weren't left with any mess whatsoever. It's no exaggeration to say that the work Ben and his team have done for us is absolutely incredible and truly skilled workmanship. We were delighted with the fitted wardrobes that Mariusz in our bedroom. He listened to what we wanted and made some really good suggestions that greatly improved the whole look of the wardrobes. They are beautiful and every time I enter the bedroom they make me smile. We then asked Mariusz to fit units either side of our fireplace so that we had storage space but within a setting that improved the look of our living room/dinning area. Again, he came to the house, listened to all the ideas that we had and suggested some of his own, which made for beautifully designed cabinets that are a feature of our living room and are greatly admired by friends and family. We absolutely love them. My husband and I would highly recommended this company, the men were hardworking, polite and after both installations our home was left spotlessly clean.

M&S Carpentry has done an amazing job for us. From start to finish it has been a pleasure to work with them. I had a clear idea of what I wanted, which was a little unusual because I wanted to hide an en-suite behind wardrobes and have the doors open inwards. I had spoken to a number of firms who had all said they couldn't or didn't want to do it as it was out of the ordinary. M&S Carpentry were great from the start, they got what I wanted to achieve and helped make that vision a reality. They advised on finishes and approach and it was a real team effort. The job was reasonably priced and they were able to meet my quite quick timetable with ease. The job was delivered on time and on budget and the quality and attention to detail is exceptional. I could not be more happy with the end product. It is exactly as I imagined and I am thrilled with it. Peter was brilliant. He fitted a mirrored bathroom cupboard for us in a tight space and it looks great. He was easy to contact and listened to what we were looking for throughout the process. ELB’s in-demand carpentry service is certainly worth the wait. We couldn’t be happier with the work they have done installing new floating shelves and a built-in laundry unit. Through each stage of the process, Peter was excellent and extremely helpful, he visited our site and perfectly understood what we were aiming for, he provided a digital design sketch for the project and made multiple revisions and suggestions until we were happy with the final design. The fit and finish was perfect, he even spray painted the cabinets in the colours we had chosen and was able to fit everything in just one day. Bobby fit 2 doors to improve sound insulation in my music studio. From initial survey to completing the job it was so easy and I’d been struggling to find a good person. The workmanship is top notch and everything was done on time. Would highly recommend.

I had Bobby from London Carpentry solutions help me with a number of bespoke furniture items with the latest being a multifunction desk. Bobby was fantastic from helping me resolve a design detail but also help me rationalise the design to achieve my budget. Once the details were agreed Bobby stuck to the agreed installation date, arriving exactly on time and I never got the impression he was in a rush to be somewhere else. The quality of the work went above and beyond my hopes (hopefully my armature photographs do his work justice) and his care and consideration was second to none. He even cleaned up afterwards with a heavy commercial vacuum cleaner that he brought. Very impressed from start to finish with Bespoke Carpentry. Really easy to communicate with to discuss design ideas. David (the carpenter) was excellent, a lovely man who is a very talented carpenter. He worked incredibly hard and fast to get our bookcase cabinet fitted in just two days. Really pleased with everything. David also gave me lots of tips for finishing touches and aftercare.
