Andy did a fabulous job restoring a recently purchased antique chest of drawers. He did a quick and free site visit to assess the piece of furniture and gave an honest evaluation of how it could be restored and what the costs would be. He was able to fit me into his busy schedule because I was anxious about getting the piece fixed. He was prompt and brought all the necessary tools. He walked me through the issues and fully restored the drawers in a timely manner. It wasn’t the most obvious solution, but Andy is knowledgeable, skilled and creative at solving issues. He left the area clean and was tidy during the process. Besides being a skilled carpenter, he is also kind, warm and professional. Would definitely recommend!

Andy did a great job with our bath frame and panels. He was kind enough to fit us in on short notice after completing some other work. He was responsive, punctual, worked well and quickly and was a really nice person to work with! Andy also had the benefit of cutting items remotely so was able to keep our bathroom incredibly clean, and was tidy in general. I had a great experience with him and will definitely use him again for future work.

We recently asked Andy for help to modify a piece of furniture. He was very quick to respond and visited to see the furniture and give us a quote. He then did a great job. I would definitely recommend and work with Andy in the future. He's also a really nice guy.

Andy was fantastic. He did a great job making our very worn out front of house like new again. He was also really helpful doing some smaller jobs, fixing a floor board, grouting our back patio etc. We will definitely use him again as other jobs come up. I chose Andy because of the reviews and they’re right. He was responsive, professional, good at communication and an all round nice person. He clearly takes pride in his work and cares that you are happy at the end of the day and would go the extra mile (including literally picking up a specific paint I chose for us) to make sure you are. We’re super happy with all of the work completed by custom carpentry at our little primary school in Barnet. We required a number of doors to be fitted along with all the framing and a stud wall in one of our classrooms, the attention to detail, quality of work and materials was really impressive and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these guys for any further carpentry work. Andy and Rhys were really attentive, punctual and very easy to get along with. Nothing was too much hassle and they consulted with us fully along the way. A great team of guys doing quality work. Andy and Rhys did a phenomenal job installing custom panelling in the hallway, landings and a bedroom of our house- see ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos attached. They worked very efficiently and were meticulous in their approach to the job which was not straightforward by any means. Andy from Rowan Joinery has done an excellent job on our new wooden double front door. His charges were reasonable. He gave us some of his good ideas and we are very pleased with the finished product. During the process he did all bits and pieces we asked him to do happily. He works very hard and take pride in his work. His good nature and patience made the whole process enjoyable. We would use his services again and recommend him.

I used Rowan Joinery to make three Oak door frames and they look absolutely stunning. Andy has great attention to detail and is a very honest and likeable character. His workmanship is fantastic. He polished our doors also. Our floors were not level and so he suggested some ways of getting round this, which worked out really well. I’m very pleased with his services.

We commissioned Andy to build meter cupboards to comply with fire regulations. He designed the cupboards and sent us pictures of progress throughout the build. The job was completed in a couple of weeks and as per the instructions we gave him. Excellent quality work and at the right price. Definitely use Andy’s services again. Highly recommended,

Bespoke room divider doors We recently had bespoke internal doors made by Andy. We were really impressed with the quality of work and Andy’s attention to detail. I recently hired Thomas Carpentry & Joinery to make and install two alcove wardrobes in our bedroom and I couldn't be happier with the results. Mauriusz built bespoke wardrobes in our bedroom in January 2025 in Hertfordshire and a record bench in our bay window. His work is fantastic and we are so happy and have received many compliments. We were delighted with the fitted wardrobes that Mariusz in our bedroom. He listened to what we wanted and made some really good suggestions that greatly improved the whole look of the wardrobes. They are beautiful and every time I enter the bedroom they make me smile. We then asked Mariusz to fit units either side of our fireplace so that we had storage space but within a setting that improved the look of our living room/dinning area. Again, he came to the house, listened to all the ideas that we had and suggested some of his own, which made for beautifully designed cabinets that are a feature of our living room and are greatly admired by friends and family. I recently worked with Dimitry and Solid Carpentry to have a built -in wardrobe fitted in my bedroom so I could have more storage space. Dimitry was excellent right from the start - polite, up front about costs, arriving on time, giving me advice and keeping me updated on the job. I gave him a photo to work from and he made the wardrobe look just like it! It was also a really awkward space, the room is slightly on a slope but he made it fit just right. I'd definitely recommend Solid Carpentry to anyone, and I will definitely be using Solid Carpentry again if I need any more carpentry in the future.
