The Best Cafes in Hartshead, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom (2025)

A group of 6 went for the first time today we were seated upstairs. We ordered vegetarian breakfast..I didn't want tomotoes or mushroom so was subsisted for an extra halloumi slice. Veg sausages were amazing! We all Enjoyed the food it was hot and delicious... only slight nighle would be 1 egg isn't enough definitely need 2! Also don't margarine the toast...butter please! Oat latte was delicious...the coffee definitely has flavour. We would definitely return..CASH ONLY or Bank transfer accepted!

What a lovely little café. The coffee is the best I’ve tasted, It is roasted on site & a variety of coffee beans are available to buy, therefore I went home with two bags so I can enjoy the coffee again at home. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was just right. I will definitely return again very soon. Thank you to all the lovely, friendly staff. This is a family run Coffee bar and they are very passionate, which comes across to their customers. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good grub and great coffee! Loved relaxing here while waiting for the garage down the road. Friendly service, cosy atmosphere, and tasty treats made it a perfect spot. Will definitely return soon again!

Lovely cafe with outside, undercover, seating so still ok when it starts to rain. Patio heaters and blankets to keep you warm if it's a bit nippy. Food is good but, on our visits, service was a little slow for hot food. Otherwise it's good and very handy for the bus station.

Great little dog friendly place, that's actually bigger than it looks from outside as the covered area is really spacious. Delicious cake, nice atmosphere and a nice selection of well priced food on the menu.

Brilliant cafe the food is always hot and tasty, there is always a relaxed atmosphere. The kids lunches are fantastic. Never disappointed ☺️

Lovely small cafe. Dogs allowed outside. They have blankets for people and dogs! Outside area covered. Friendly staff and great food

Lovely place for a bite to eat, seems to have a genuine community feel with everyone knowing eachother and getting along. Great portions at a very respectable price with no compromise on taste. Took some home made baklava home to have with a cup of tea and it was absolutely delicious. Can't recommend enough. Please support this local business and these lovely ladies. Even had a petition available for a local cause. A business that genuinely cares about the people it serves.

I have been aware of the cafe for a while but never had opportunity to visit. Today we noticed they have expanded, having renovations and got "Eve's Scoops" running. We asked if they were open and got the most amazing ice creams. Cakes offered and expanding to waffles and other treats. No menu as yet as still in early stages. Really pleasant staff. Little treasure trove for the summer

Found the market entrance for this tucked away through a tunnel alleyway but were supprised to find such a pretty tearoom. It's bigger on the inside than it looks and has different levels to sit on. Dogs are allowed on the lowest level and ours was made very welcome and enjoyed the trip. Good variety on the menu, lovely helpful staff and interesting books around the sides (an extract in the pictures)

Fabulous afternoon tea at this cute tea room. Defo recommend it. Oooo my first ever macaroon... what a treat... defo the best afternoon tea we have had.

Excellent! Full English breakfast is highly recommended, especially the homemade baked beans. I’d also recommend booking a table as it’s a very popular place. Service was really good and attentive. Food came out quickly.

Me and my partner have been coming here for the past few months and have only ever had the breakfast and is by far our favourite breakfast spot. However today we went for lunch and the food was amazing!! My partner got the steak loaded fries and said it was the best steak he has had! I had the pizza which was delicious. The food is by far a 10/10. Would highly recommend coming here, the staff are very friendly and the location is beautiful too. We will definitely keep returning to Arthur’s Cafe!!
