Absolute golden gem of a coffee shop, I hope and pray more places like this pop up. Somewhere safe for parents with young kids to go. It’s so hard to take a toddler out and about some days, especially when I really struggle with my mental health. This coffee shop felt so welcoming and safe. A great place to breastfeed too if you have younger children. The coffee is great, and staff are so friendly. An absolutely fantastic cafe. Thank you so much!

Came in by chance during brighouse 1940s weekend. Stopped to look at the stall they had due to the eye catching toys and the person running the stall mentioned the cafe. I was looking for somewhere to sit and breastfeed so we all (3 adults and 4 children age 4mo-7y) went in and had a sit down at one of the tables outside in the fenced area. We're all very impressed with the staff, the drinks, and the play area and toys! The kids were kept busy while us grown ups had a nice drink and rest and I fed the baby. We will absolutely be back!

Has had a lovely refresh since new ownership. A place with actual decent coffee and a children's play space is the ultimate dream for parents. Lots of space for pram parking . There is a step to enter but staff are helpful with getting you in. There is a changing table in the toilet (which is very clean) complete with emergency supplies! The only downside is that there's not so much room for supervision of children in the play area but the rest of the cafe is spacious to come and keep checking on them/ is well within heating distance. The children's lunchbox is also a great deal.

Went today with my partner for breakfast. We got a breakfast wrap and a breakfast box. We both absolutely loved our food, really tasty and freshly cooked ingredients! I also purchased a ham salad, which was also lovely, nice fresh ingredients and lovely teacakes. We had a slice of biscoff cake which was great too. On top of all this it was great value, will definitely be going again!

Was in the area on business and was looking for a sandwich shop for lunch. Saw this one was well rated on Google and gave it a try. What a sensation! Great freshly made paninis, wraps and sandwiches paired up with fantastic coffee and the most amazing home baked cakes. I live in Glasgow - it’s worth the drive down from there! Lovely friendly staff. Highly recommended. Thanks for looking after us so well.

Visited this little gem today. Food, staff and the cafe itself are fantastic. Very busy, we were lucky and got seated in 15 minutes others waiting had to wait longer. Very popular place, shame its not bigger or a few more tables/chairs could be added as there is room. Food and drinks were amazing, coffee was absolutely lovely. Shame they dont have their own parking as parking is chargeable by the hour but only 60p an hour. This will now definitely be my favourite place to pop in for coffee or brekkie. Bonus too, they are dog friendly and have a little menu for them.

We had to wait to be seated as all the tables were in use. But once a table was free the man who showed us to our table brought an extra chair to make the 3 person table into a 4...but he did promise to move us to a larger table when one became free...which was literally minutes after we'd got seated. Once re seated we ordered at the counter. When the food came it looked amazing and when we tasted it the taste matched our first impression!! We live in Huddersfield so travelled over for my daughters birthday brunch. I would defo return after seeing the size of her pancake stack she got!! I need to try them too 😁

It was random walking cafe but it turn out, out standing. Loved vibes, food and staff are lovely. They have this veg burrito it’s out of this world, you will be amazed with taste. And mozzarella tosties wow…. Highly recommend . As it’s a small place we have to wait for table for lil longer but it’s understandable , no complaints…

First visit for brunch on a busy Bank holiday. The queue was dealt with very quickly and we were seated outside within 10 mins of waiting. We ordered a full breakfast and two poached eggs on toasted sourdough. These together with a Cortado coffee and a Yorkshire tea. All very much enjoyed. Both food and service was great, friendly and welcoming. We certainly recommend.☺️

Had the most beautiful afternoon tea Little Leaf Cafe in Palmer Plants, so much so that I think it might just be my new favourite place in the whole world and everyone needs to try it, I will definitely be going again soon. This place is beautiful, peaceful and has such a calming atmosphere the staff are so lovely, caring and happy to help with whatever you need. A big thank you to Lucy for taking care of what we needed and the perfect service with a smile and welcoming vibes. We loved our coffee and cake break. My boys said it was the best 'birthday cake' they'd ever had and the north star coffee and barista were both lovely. We'll be back to try brunch another time.

I enjoyed the English breakfast, lemon cake and coffee. Friendly service, Christmas tunes and decorations, all in a lovely setting. I’ll come again.

Every time I come back to Huddersfield I always make sure to visit Arcade. The food is delicious and they have many great vegetarian options, the staff are always friendly and welcoming and their hot chocolate is one of the best in the UK as it’s made with real chocolate. I cannot recommend this place enough it’s a lovely little independent eatery inside Byram Arcade.

One of my favourite spots in Huddersfield. Arcade has nailed the art of great coffee and even better food. Everything they put out is made with care and attention to detail - the coffee and food looks and tastes incredible. Highly recommend!

Lovely place. Good selection of drinks and food. Staff were super nice and helpful. It is clean and well taken care of, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seats.

Excellent place to visit. Great atmosphere, great food at good prices. Highly recommended. Very friendly staff. Toilet available, too, which is useful on longer walks. I have lots of trips down the canal just to come here and definitely recommend it to others. Great views of the canal and hills, too.

Great little cafe. Prices reasonable given where it is and there's no competition. The bathroom was immaculate. My only mild negative, is as couple of the staff could smile, looked like they wanted to jump in the canal.

They have delicious cake variety which was mouthwatering for me so I ordered couple of 😆. Situated at Five Rise famous Lock mean bit busy too at brunch time. We had wonderful time there. Excellent scenery with an excellent cake in an excellent weather. Who can dare to say but enjoy the sun and the food. One thing to notice is opening times. They are different in the winter but when is winter? I am not sure.🤔

Consistently first class service, food and drinks. A huge range of tea, which is served in a proper pot! Always served promptly and hot, even when busy. There’s a lovely friendly lady who must be the manager. She is on always the ball and accommodating.

Highly recommend for brunch/lunch. Had the goats cheese, beets and poached egg on sourdough. Daughter had the special sandwich of the day. Both fresh ingredients and very flavoursome. Yum. Nice choice not too overwhelming and great selection of hot and cold drinks. (Coffees and speciality teas etc) Beautiful cakes and brownies. We had the chocolate orange and pistachio.

The menu looked simple but when the food arrived oh wow! It not only looked good but it tasted amazing. I could taste good quality . The seating was good. Met with a few friends for breakfast. A bit pricier but sometimes it's good to pay a bit more to eat nice and good quality food. I hope they serve fried eggs in future or otherwise I can't go with my children.

Been here a few times. Great place in town where the food has always been fantastic in my opinion. I would say the lunch menu options are slightly limited with not the greatest selection but across both breakfast or lunch there’s a lot of tasty food. Good vibe and design to the place with a quieter upstairs. Most importantly the service and staff were fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. Thanks

Dined in on a Friday eve our first visit to The Shrub! The decor is lovely and we couldn’t fault the food either, it was delicious. As were our cocktails which were excellent value at 2 for 1 on a Friday evening. I had two small plates and a side salad, they arrived piping hot and beautifully presented. My daughter also enjoyed her large plate chicken dish and vegetables. My only gripe is that we were a little cold at times due to the terrace doors being opening regularly to the terrace.

I visited this place recently - it was a Thursday when you could have x3 smaller plates for £18. I loved everything about the place - the staff were so friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was great - the food was delicious and I am gluten free! I could have everything I wanted gluten free including the amazing chocolate dessert!! If I was local I would be a regular. I will be sure to come back when next in the area. Highly recommend!!!

Today was the first time ever visiting The Shrub in Brighouse, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience. The food and atmosphere not only met but exceeded my expectations. The dishes were simply amazing—both delicious and impressively healthy, with no compromises on quality. I would highly recommend The Shrub to anyone looking for a delightful experience; rest assured, it’s a visit you won’t regret. I highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for desert!

The Shrub hosted our daughter’s graduation gathering last night, it was absolutely perfect! Such a beautiful elegant place. The food was top quality and the staff could not do enough for our party. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be regulars. Thank you all again.

One of the best Sunday roasts we've ever had. Flat iron steak was cooked perfectly. We ordered one of every side dish between 2 of us. When it arrived we thought we'd massively overdone it. But it was all so tasty that we polished off the lot. No room for pudding though. Only small negative - it was very noisy and hard to have a conversation while we ate. This was mostly due to some unruly kids and inadequate parents on the next table, but that's not the fault of the restaurant. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

I recently went for brunch at The Brooks in Brighouse and it was awesome. Right when you walk in, the place feels welcoming and cozy, making you feel right at home.The menu is packed with all sorts of yummy options. From the usual brunch goodies to some really unique dishes, there's something for everyone. I picked something off the menu that not only looked amazing but tasted incredible too. You could tell they used fresh ingredients because every bite was super flavorful. The staff at The Brooks were great as well. They were super friendly, always there when you needed them, and knew the menu inside out. They recommended some really good dishes and drinks that went perfectly with what we were in the mood for.The vibe of the place is just as cool. It's got a stylish yet laid-back decor, making it a perfect spot whether you're out for a casual brunch or celebrating something special. Plus, sitting outside on a nice day in Brighouse is pretty hard to beat.All in all, The Brooks is definitely a place I’d go back to and tell my friends about. If you’re looking for a solid brunch spot, this place should be on your list.

I would give them 10 starts if I could. I could arguably say that this has been the best brunch that I have ever had in my life. Everything from start to finish was simply PERFECT. AMAZING atmosphere and service and food was divine. Everything was freshly made and tastes absolutely sensational. Staff are very attentive and helpful and extremely polite. 1000% recommend this to everyone and trust you will not regret it.

Popped in for Brunch. As always the food is amazing staff are brilliant and it's such a lovely experience. Going to try the breakfast martini next time as it looked so good!
