Just had the Sunday roast carvery. It's under new ownership, only opened this week and it was amazing. With a choice of 4 meats and wide variety veg, lots of different accompaniments you really feel spoilt The roast potatoes are crispy and Yorkshire puddings are perfect. The staff are friendly and attentive and the pub had a lovely atmosphere, very cosy🤩 They are a tapas bar on Monday -Saturday, carvery on a Sunday. We can't wait to come back to try the tapas!
Highly Recommended, lots of choice on the menu, something for everyone and it all tasted great! Highly recommend the Stake Skewers. The staff were friendly, attentive and did not rush us, so you can take your time and enjoy a few tapas dishes with some well kept beers! If you have not tried it since the re-opening it's worth a visit.
We ordered a bunch of tapas, and they looked amazing! The pork belly was definitely the best. But, honestly, everything was a bit too salty. We're still excited to go back and try their Sunday roast carvery though.
My first time at the Golden pot, I absolutely loved it. We were welcomed by very friendly staff and the chef doing the carvery was a happy guy, calming out generous portions of meat, the first car been to where the Turkey was cut nice and thick instead of those stupid thin slices you get normally. Also the stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon was a lovely addition. Will definitely be going again and I recommended it to friends and family.
We visited for lunch to check out the much-talked-about new menu. The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was delightful. The sardines were lovely, and my glass of prosecco was generously filled! I can't comment on the smash burger yet, though, as the portions were so generous that my son only managed to eat his chips—he saved the burger for dinner later!
