Arrived unbooked at 830pm, didn't know they shut at 9pm. They couldn't have been more welcoming. Service was excellent, food superb. We had a pizza and a pasta.

One of the best places to eat out in Newbury. Food is delicious, and the ice cream is a sight to behold. Staff are great and whatever time of day I’ve been in there’s a nice atmosphere. Kid friendly too!

Love this place! A proper hidden gem. Excellent, unfussy Italian food with great service at a reasonable price. The wood-fired pizzas are the main attraction but don’t overlook the starters and pasta dishes. There’s also a very dangerous gelato counter 👀 Recommended!

The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The restaurant was really clean and tidy. The food was amazing. The meat feast pizza was incredible and so was the brownie. There's a good selection of gelato flavours and the ones we tried were delicious.

The most gorgeous cafe right on the river! I’ve been there sooo many times and every time the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. The staff are brilliant with gluten free too - lots of choice and super tasty! In fact, I went for afternoon tea and they produced an ENTIRELY gluten free platter, of which everything was home made! Lovely place by the canal, with picturesque views and aesthetic interior. The tea sevice is delicious and well worth it. Sweet, but sometimes you want that! Makes a good chai too.

We found this place by chance when trying to get somewhere that met half way between our friend group. What a great find! We had lots of dietary requirements for our afternoon tea and they were really accommodating. Lovely atmosphere and staff were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back again ☺️

My favourite place in Newbury to have a relaxing cup of tea by the canal. Particularly if the sun is out. Breakfast is fabulous too. Everything cooked fresh to order. Lovely staff too. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Really enjoyable overnight stay. Staff refreshingly open, friendly and efficient. The venue has a significant uplift what was there previously - which we did enjoy, but this is much better. Rooms are much nicer, service very good, and food interesting. Breakfast was great. We gave some suggestions on minor improvements which were happily received. Will be going back!

I can’t sing The Pot Kiln’s praises highly enough! We had dinner and stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and it was the perfect place to do this. From the moment we arrived every detail was thoughtfully considered. The bed was comfortable and pillows were exactly to our liking, but had they not been, there was a note saying we could ask for different ones. The room was large, beautifully decorated and (importantly) quiet. The shower was luxurious and super clean. We had a phenomenal, memorable dinner with a view into the kitchen. Every dish was superb & I would highly recommend the pigs ears, the ribs, the veal tartare and the wine! Fantastic wine list and excellent espresso martinis too. We had a hearty breakfast in the morning before a 10km walk which started and ended at the pub. Given the recent flooding, this required walking boots! Thanks to all at The Pot Kiln for such a welcoming, comfortable and memorable stay. We will be back!

We visited this pub some time ago before the refurb and loved it. But since the renovations it’s taken itself to another level. The food is exceptional and we loved being able to watch the chefs at work. I think they also benefit from seeing customers happy faces when eating their food!! We had steak the first night and Brill with chicken butter the next. I can’t remember the last time we had such a memorable meal. Absolutely delicious!!! Breakfast is a delight as well. The atmosphere is wonderful and I don’t think it will matter whether you come in the winter or summer you’re bound to have a wonderful time. The staff are lovely and the newly decorated rooms are spacious and comfortable. The weather was atrocious so our dog was left behind, but we really can’t wait to return with him and enjoy the walks and peaceful location. Well done to you all for creating the most fantastic destination pub we can’t wait for our next visit!!

There are a lot of oh-so-trendy coffee shops in Newbury, but what's the point of them if the coffee is awful? Coffee here is the best in town. Good muffins too. It may be a little too far up the street for those trendies who seem to have lost the power of their legs, but that's their loss, and it makes for a quieter more pleasant environment without them. Genuinely friendly staff seal the deal for me. One negative: Toilet needs some attention from a cleaner. Ciao a tutti.

Opens at 7am which is excellent. A warm welcome by all the polite staff. Good quality full English breakfast at a reasonable price, there is a map on the wall that traces their ingredients, coffee is good also. The background music was eclectic, from crying into your coffee one minute to blowing your whistle the next... brilliant. Highly recommended.

We went to this cafe a couple of days ago, and it was a nice change from the usual chain brands we always go to. The owners were super friendly and let our big but well-behaved puppy in, and they even seated us in a quiet area. The coffee was really good and so was the King Breakfast. We'll definitely go back next time we're in Newbury.

A delightful cafe with great food. Managed and run by very friendly staff. Reasonably priced food, nice atmosphere. Why not try the King's Breakfast? I did and I loved it. They didn't have Black Pudding but I opted for an extra sausage instead and didn't regret it for a moment!

Our dining experience was elevated by the expertise of the waiter, John, who guided us through the selection of cheeses for the cheese platter. John's approachability and wisdom in curating the perfect cheese assortment were truly commendable. His recommendations showcased a deep understanding of flavor profiles and a genuine enthusiasm for sharing the best the restaurant had to offer. In conclusion, our visit to Cote in Newbury was nothing short of spectacular. The combination of delectable cuisine, attentive service from staff like Alice, Virvan, and John, and the overall welcoming atmosphere makes Cote a must-visit for anyone craving an exceptional French dining experience.

Excellent food. Staff were all polite and although we waited for a while to get drinks, I’d put that down to the restaurant being busy so it was fine. Kamal was great, had a chat when paying the bill before leaving.

Always a lovely experience and the food is consistently good here.

Great privately run cafe just off Northbrook Street. Great choice of good quality sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes and other cafe meals. Very good coffee too! Note : This review is for Weavers Walk Cafe

Beautiful park, full of flowers and very quiet. I loved the lakes.

Very nice day out nice lunch and refreshing pimms gardens are beautiful will be going again to see more
