I must say this pub is well out of the way but worth finding! The Sunday roast beef was the best Sunday lunch I think I’ve ever had in a pub… the staff were excellent and so were the real ales. I’ll be back 100%. If you try it your love it.

Had a lovely lunch at The Yew Tree on Saturday, the pub was nestled in a fold of the Hampshire Countryside. The ambience was relaxed, attentive service and great food. The prawns had a lovely garlic butter sauce, I had the flaked shepards pie and my wife had the Fig and Goats cheese salad. All three courses were great and I had a pint of Hawkstone. We will be back! My partner and I were staying nearby and had dinner her one evening. We were blown away. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was wonderful and the pub was quaint and pretty. We are so glad to have visited and will be back next time we are in the area.

I chose the lamb, which was tender, perfectly cooked, and served in a generous portion, far exceeding my expectations. The inclusion of sprouts, often overlooked in many roasts, was a delightful touch and prepared to perfection. The free cauliflower cheese was the cherry on top, adding a creamy, cheesy element to the meal without an additional charge—a rare and appreciated bonus. What sets The Yew Tree apart is the excellent balance of quality and quantity. Each plate is hearty, satisfying, and made with evident care. The roast is paired with crispy roast potatoes, rich gravy, and fresh vegetables, completing the experience beautifully. Overall, The Yew Tree delivers a flawless roast dinner, earning a well-deserved 10 out of 10. If you’re in the area, this is a must-visit for any roast lover!

Fantastic food, we were really impressed. It was so delicious, I had the beef blade and the jus in particular was incredible. Staff were so helpful and thoughtful catering for my allergies. Nice wee pub with good beer on tap and great friendly service. We are definitely going back.
