Absolutely fantastic cafe, tucked away in the middle of Burdett Road, Mile End. The food is freshly cooked, the pastries are a mix of home made a traditional styles. The service is second to none. I popped in for a simple cup of coffee during the early hours of Saturday morning, and found myself sitting in the cafe for two hours getting through my admin tasks. The environment is very calm and comfortable. Thoroughly recommend it

Came here to buy some lunch. For £8 i got a tasty tuna melt and a side salad to take away. There were plenty of good looking sandwiches and sweet treats. The man inside was very friendly and thoughtfully asked if i wanted dressing on my salad (which i didn't). Would recommend this place for a quick casual lunch/coffee/snack!

Stumbled upon this cozy restaurant. Big menu with a big list of a bunch of yummy things. The service and staff were amazing and extremely knowledgeable about allergies as we also had a celiac in our group. The sourdough was gorgeous and the ambience such a vibe! Also try the grapefruit juice!

Small but very warm atmosphere, the service fee is truly ‘optional’ since it’s self added when the bill is paid. This is also my first time to try the Turkish dish - Menemen and the taste was amazing.

Mowchi Mile End

450 Mile End Rd, London E1 4GG, UK | Cafe
P: Not available

Rating: 4.6 (139) Price Level:

The bao buns here are delicious, I'll be thinking about that Chicken Katsu one a lot. The beef one is delicious too. We have the Tikka Sando too, it was pretty tasty and filling. The chips that came with it were a good portion with lots of sauce. We also got plain chips which were tasty on their own too. The vanilla bubble tea tasted like ice cream and my niece enjoyed the signature brown sugar. The only thing was that tapioca was pretty hard but the drinks themselves were tasty. The interior is really pretty and the atmosphere is nice. I could definitely see myself going in there to get work done and enjoy some more bao buns with friends. The staff were super nice and lovely, I'd definitely recommend this spot for a quick bite and chill drinks with friends. Please try the Katsu bao bun and thank me later :)

Mowchi Cafe has been my go-to cafe and they've introduced a loyalty card. The interior is nice and gives aesthetic vibes. They do nice sandwiches and bao buns. Prices are good value for money and customer service is always friendly. Recommend for a visit with friends or family, or even for your regular coffee stop.

Let's just start with the drinks first - they have some solid bubble teas but their signature selection has a Spanish and pistachio latte. Course I had to try these. Spanish latte was decent but the pistachio was best, because they've cleverly fused it with a Spanish latte flavour. Really liked this. As for food the Sandos were great. Around £9 gives you a sando and chips which is filling and tasty. Both the chicken and pulled beef were equally good. The bread itself could be toasted slightly more but that's my only criticism. Plenty of meat inside and flavourful. My favorite though has gotta be the bao buns. Take a bite and after the soft buns it's crunchy chicken with a teriyaki kick. Really good. This is a great concept cos not many coffee spots do great food and not many good food spots do great coffee. Can imagine this being even more popular in central London.

Me and my sister-in-law decided to pop in since it's been viral on tiktok. Got to say thiugh they did take their time with order. Got 2 drinks and the tiger teriyaki bao bun to share. I got the creme brulle latte, which I loved! My sis got the matcha bubble tea, which was less than average tbh. My 3 Yr old nephew was also with as and he obviously tried our drinks and he loved mine and kept it for himself lol 😆! The bao buns were delicious but very expensive imo. It was 9.70, which I don't think I'd spend on it anytime soon.

On behalf of my boss: He went here yesterday against concerns as to its size. However, it was quiet and turned out to be a little gem of a find. Cute intimate/cozy seating, top rate coffee, and tasty pistachio cake. Quite unique. He was meeting someone there and they stayed for several hours until closing.

Beam

P: 020 8348 3748

Rating: 4.7 (1978) Price Level:

I’ve been coming to this cafe for three years now, and I’m honestly surprised I’ve never left a review before! Every single time I visit, the food is consistently excellent. The standards here are so reliable, and the quality never wavers. The service is always great, and the staff are incredible. The waiters are friendly, patient, and especially good with kids. It’s clear that the restaurant takes care of their team because I’ve noticed they’ve had the same staff for years, which is rare in the restaurant business. The place is always spotless, and the atmosphere is lovely. The food is fantastic, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and welcoming place to eat. A huge thank you to the entire team for all the hard work you put into making every visit such a great experience!

Beam is a fantastic cafe with top-notch coffee, a standout Mediterranean breakfast, and a delicious grilled chicken salad. Their chicken burger is also a must-try. The cozy atmosphere makes it a great spot to relax or get some work done with your laptop. It’s often busy, but if you time your visit right, it’s perfect. Friendly staff round out the experience. Highly recommended!

Food is amazing but there will be a queue on weekends. It’s a tiny gem in Bow Chruch area but worth a visit. They have outdoor and indoor seating, excellent brunch options with smoothies and coffee.

The atmosphere was excellent, the staff were attentive and lovely to talk to, and the service was fantastic. The food was outstanding, beautifully prepared, and the portions were very generous. We’ll definitely be coming back on our next trip to London – probably the best dining experience we’ve had in the city. Highly recommend!

Classic Full English Breakfast and British cafe vibe. Big portions, lightning fast service, great value. Sit down, have a mug of tea, and enjoy your breakfast in this time capsule. Too many little places like this have been replaced by overpriced corporate places with no personality. Seek out small businesses, save money, and help keep traditions alive.

On the last day of my vacation day, I’ve decided to visit Mile End, a local neighborhood located near Mont Royal of Montreal. It has a pretty suburban vibe with many local cafes. I stumble upon Cafe Olimpico (a hidden gem), and it has some of the best Tiramisu and coffee in Montreal. The cappuccino, cortado, and iced latte are bold, yet smooth (and refreshing when served cold). The sandwich is also amazing with its freshly sliced ham and baked sandwich.

Highly recommended a visit or two. Menu is amazing with a mix of traditional food with a touch of English which is brilliant. The tables are amazing! They have a couple of carrom boards you can play with family or friends and some that you can sit at and have your meal. Staff very friendly and made me feel very welcomed and allowed us to choose a table as it wasn’t too busy. The decor also bought back happy memories of Bangladesh with a TulTuk inside. Definitely coming back to try out their Sunday roast and there is a few selections from Chicken, Beef Brisket and lamb shank they have a great menu with English Brunch, Deshi Brunch street snacks which I’ve order as a take away to share with the family the portions are very generous so come down and give it a go definitely recommend

Had a great time at this restaurant! The food was tasty, though I wouldn’t have minded a bit more spice in the Shepherds Pie (maybe that’s just the Bengali in me!). The two waitresses were super friendly and made us feel welcome right away! Loved the vibe, especially since we got to sit around and play Carrom Board whilst having their amazing ice cream! It honestly felt like being back in Bangladesh. Celebrated my birthday here with family, and it was an awesome experience. Definitely planning to come back soon for their brunch and roast!

Visited for breakfast and loved the vibe. Our half English breakfast was delicious and a good portion. The staff were really helpful and friendly. I visited mainly to play carom board (only available at the Mile End branch) They didn’t have powder for the board which was a bit disappointing but we still played and it was really fun. After a few games we had some refreshing mocktails and delicious chocolate cronuts. A lovely experience and will definitely be back. Please stock up on those carom board powder.
