The best day of our lives!
We cannot thank Nicola, Damien and the team enough for all their hard work they showed us from start to finish.

We dropped by Applewood one August afternoon because my girlfriend was adamant there was no such thing as the perfect outdoor wedding space and I wanted to prove her wrong. We strolled around the woods looking at the aftermath of a wedding from the day before and fell in love. We booked our wedding that day when Nic told us there was a waiting list... the actual proposal came later!

We wanted a fun and relaxed wedding, no pressure or uncomfortable traditions and this was so easy to create working alongside Nic and Damien. They were honest and open from the start, telling us what could work and how to adapt our ideas to fit the setting better. They suggested venders to use for food and styling and worked closely with other independant companies we chose to work with, easing the workload for us leading up to the big day.

Both Nicola and Damien are 100% genuine and down to earth, this was a huge factor for us - we didn't want unapproachable people taking care of the most important day of our lives. Nicola was ALWAYS available via email or emergency phone calls, and Damien can make/fix/create anything.

On the day we felt like guests at the coolest wedding ever - we were no longer organisers but there to enjoy ourselves. The team took care of absolutely everything without disruption to our day. They were 100% adaptable to the needs of our guests and any unexpected bits that popped up were seamlessly dealt with, by the end of the day they all felt like friends.

We are both so incredibly thankful to everyone at Applewood, we could never have imagined a 'normal' wedding and this was more than perfect. Our guests were excited constantly, not knowing what was coming next and exploring the woods to find beautiful hidden areas. I could go on and on... it was the most magical day!!!!

A very unusual setting for a wedding. Set in a small wood off the beaten track, nr Scholes and Barwick-in-elmete.
There are different areas set out for different parts of the event, with fairy light illuminated bark paths leading between them.
Well stocked bar, that wasn't overpriced and the food we had was excellent.
We had a wonderful time.
Oh, we were just guests.

WOW! What else i can i say - this venue truly allows you the ability to create what you like as you like within a beautiful woodland setting. There are various little areas that already work perfectly for your ceremony, dancefloor/eating and areas large enough for your own tipis/bell tents etc. Such a wonderful and peaceful place - i hope to return and photograph here soon - thanks Nicola!
