We've been struggling off and on for a few years with coving that runs above some shelving either side of a chimney breast and eventually one section fell off completely. So we decided we had to resolve this once and for all, we'd seen some potential options online and started looking around for a suitable trade person to solve this problem. We eventually found Carl at Cookridge Carpentry and his response was prompt and positive. Following a couple of 'false starts' we finally hit on a solution that we could proceed with when he provided a rough dummy. Carl turned up when he said he would and grafted really hard to make sure we reached the result we were looking for. His work was very clean and tidy with little mess, which was surprising. He also spent plenty of time cleaning up after himself on both days. Both local and quality result... winner! We would have no hesitation in recommending Cookridge Carpentry for appropriate work, very professional throughout.

Chris fitted a new wardrobe with drawers into the room, replacing an old in built wardrobe. I asked for wardrobes that were flush to the existent wall and a minimalist look and the result is exactly what I invisioned. The measurements are perfect and the wardrobes blend in with the wall from the side view. The doors and drawers are fitted with magnetic push to open locks that give a smooth finish. Chris gave excellent communication and kept to schedule, as planned. I would recommed to anyone wanting a custom design and skilled craftmen ship.

The quality of workmanship was excellent,. Tony found ways around some tricky issues relating to the construction of my walls. I am really pleased with my built-in wardrobes and pantry shelves. I would highly recommend him.

Tony fitted our kitchen a couple months ago and it's still my favourite room in the house. What we thought was a quick switcheroo when we bought our new home turned out to be a lot more work than planned. I am honestly still amazed at how much Tony did and how near and tidy his workmanship (especially considering he was flying solo). I wanted to replace my modern UPVC door with one more in keeping with my house. Adam helped me find an original door in the right size, then cut it to fit, sorted out locks and door furniture, made a frame and installed it for me. It's perfect and I couldn't be more thrilled. He's a joy to have around.

I commissioned a cabin bed, with a separate desk underneath, for my son. When it was finished, and in place, I had no idea it would be so AMAZING!!! I knew it would be good, but when I saw the lovely different textures and colours of the wood, the clever joints as the bed has no nails or screws-it looks so unique and beautiful, as does the desk. Adam listened to what we wanted, and added ideas of his own, I would definitely recommend and will ask him to make more things for us🙂

We wanted a bespoke banquette for our dining area and Adam did an amazing job of designing, building and fitting it. He worked with us to put the design together but put his own unIque spin into the details of the banquette. He is very skilled at what he does and we are very happy with the final piece.

just had my bathroom refurbished, sean has done an excellent job, he is hard working friendly , trust worthy and great time keeping . the finished job is brilliant , i absolutely love it and would definitely recommend his work to anyone . he does get busy so i would recommend you give him reasonable notice

We’ve used Sean and his team several times over the past few years. They are professional, honest, trustworthy, high quality, flexible, friendly and good value. I would strongly recommend them for any building work you may be thinking of, large or small. You’ll get a firm quote from the start, no ifs or buts and they have finished on schedule on budget every single time, as promised. You couldn’t ask for more .... and if you think this sounds unusually and exceptionally good for a building firm, you’d be right. That’s why he has a long waiting list for jobs (the only negative I can think of) so book him early!

Had a loft hatch fitted and an older, smaller one covered up. Great work, no mess left, friendly. Was told the work could take up to two days and they were done in a day. Would highly recommend to anyone who seeks services they offer, 5/5!

Ben built us a large bespoke utility cupboard with an adjoining dresser unit, made to match the style and colour of our existing kitchen units. He discussed our requirements, made suggestions, produced diagrams and worked around our builders. We have been very impressed with the quality of work. The soft-close drawers and shelves take a substantial weight of china and bottles! I would definitely recommend Ben and hope to use him again for other projects in the future.

I have had the pleasure of working with Tom Maxwell on several occasions but this is the latest media unit Tom designed and built for my client. The work he did was superb and our meetings with the myself and my client were both concise and easy to understand especially for the client. The material used were laminate and American Black Walnut which are beautiful to work with and gave my client exactly what he required - I look forward to many more project where Tom and I can work together going forward

Tom and his team have just finished installing a media wall and complementary cabinets and shelving on the opposite walls. The result is stunning and has exceeded our expectations. Prior to this he designed and fitted our wardrobes and is in the process of fitting further wardrobes and various units. He offers a truly bespoke service and never seems daunted by unusual or difficult designs, always relishing and rising to the challenge, bringing style and flair to the finished product. The attention to detail and range of materials is breathtaking and we are in awe of the workmanship which goes into making such beautiful pieces of furniture. Tom ensured that we were involved in the design process and offered flexibility over price and changes to the specification. The skills of Edward and Jason in making and fitting our units are exemplary. They plan for minimum disruption during the fitting process and work to exacting and meticulous standards. We needed to change the layout of one side of our kitchen but were happy with the other three sides which had good quality units. Unfortunately these were no longer in production so we gave Tom the challenge of producing the new units to match the existing ones as closely as possible. He did a brilliant job. Friends and family have also been most impressed by the results. The quality of the work and attention to detail was superb. Both Tom and Ed, his workshop manager, are perfectionists. Ed, who did the installation, clearly has a passion for his work and enjoyed the challenge. He and his assistants were incredibly hard working, considerate and a pleasure to have in our home. Tom also has contacts he can call in for other skills as needed and at short notice if unexpected problems arise. Those involved with our project also did excellent work. Though the price might seem a little high it was not vastly more than the good quality ready made units we had looked at but which wouldn’t have matched. The extra was well worth the cost, having the advantage of making maximum use of the available space with individually made units. We highly recommend the company, especially for any non-standard work.

He was very attentive and thorough, he checked with us every step of the way and was happy to help out with other odd jobs that came up. He also recommended and orchestrated all other work we needed doing (electrics, plumbing and plastering) and worked to resolve any hiccup that came up, meaning we had very little to look after and worry about. On top of this, Billy has been popping in when needed to finish jobs after other work has been completed to make sure everything is to the highest standard and has been lovely to be around.
