For many months I researched companies who would be able to custom build and install floating solid wood shelving and units to house our CDs, Vinyl and TV and audio equipment. I found Born of Wood on Instagram and so wish I’d found them sooner! I hope this review saves hours of your life if you’re looking for the same, as you need look no further than Stuart and his team. From our first contact to today, where I’m sat looking at our wonderful furniture and can’t stop smiling, the experience has been top class! Stuart visited our home and spent time listening to our vision and requirements. He understands how the furniture needs to meet your everyday needs and masters a design of how it will do exactly that. We received CAD drawings to show how it would look in our home and given the chance to alter these if required. He took on board our visions and made them a reality. The quality of the furniture is exceptional. We live in a grade II listed building and when it came to delivery and installation, the Born of Wood team were respectful of our home. Pete’s approach to installation was calm, considerate and precise, checking with us throughout about our preferences for the placement of our audio equipment. Born of Wood have captured a bit of us in the creation of our furniture. They have somehow managed to create exactly what we would if we had their exceptional skill. We can’t wait to fill our shelves with all our music, which is such a massive part of our lives. Thanks Stuart and the Team! We will most definitely be inviting you back for our next project! (Update: added a new photo - now just need to pin our speaker wire to the skirting. Love it!)

Re: BIG AV Cabinet & Turntable Platform. I looked, for quite a while, to find a carpenter I was happy to work with, and thankfully found Stuart. I wanted, amongst other things, to match a particular speaker veneer. Stuart helped me at every point, advised and was very patient with my requirements & pursuit. After much trial & error, what he & his team have built surpasses my original brief and expectations. The final product is stunning & I love it. From my initial phone conversation, through the design process & tweaking, to the build, staining & finishing, Stuart has been outstanding. I cannot recommend Born of Wood highly enough.

Would 100% recommend Stuart / Born of Wood. I had been trying to find the perfect bathroom cabinet but none of them were quite right. I sent Stuart some pictures of what I had in mind in terms of style and the type of wood I wanted to use and he designed the perfect unit. He was really responsive and made sure that the sink we had planned to go on top of it would fit which wasnt something I had even thought of. I absolutely love the unit- worth every penny and we've had a lot of compliments on it- it will be coming with me if I ever move house!!

Stuart and the team design and produced an AV unit for me in walnut. Everything about the process was excellent, from design consultation, 3D illustrations through to production. The finished result is excellent, with design craftsmanship, finish and overall quality all first rate. Recommended

What a pleasure it was to deal with this company. From the initial chat, to the final fit... The process was seamless.  We got a bespoke fitted dresser made. We had an awkward alcove in the bedroom. What Jake designed exceeded our expectations of what we thought was possible with the space. The quality and finish is incredible. Dealing with Jake was an absolute pleasure, I honestly cannot recommend this company enough.

Jake replaced our old inner window boards that had become extremely water damaged as well as adding new framework. He advised us on the best options and our windows now look amazing again! I was surprised at how quickly the work was done! Extremely quick and efficient but making sure the work is complete to the highest standard! I would recommend and definitely use Jake again for any other work we need doing. Thanks again Jake!

Jake from Coates Carpentry was an absolute professional, polite and very tidy, arriving on time each day, he dealt with all the irregularities of fitting doors to our 1930’s house. Jake also made a door for our under stairs cupboard perfectly to match the standard doors. I cannot recommend him enough, we are extremely impressed and very happy with the work he has carried out. When we need some more joinery we will definitely be calling Jake.

Chris removed our old fitted wardrobes and replaced them with new ones which maximised the space. He really listened to our brief and making sure we got exactly what we wanted. He's friendly and also reasonably priced. Would recommend!

Refink recently planned out and installed my fitted wardrobes/cupboards/drawers. This was a full wall and it took some planning as it had a chimney breast in the middle that I wanted hiding. Chris did an amaizing job, he is very professional. His guidance and expertise choosing the right colour and style was so appreciated....and we absolutely love the end result. We are so pleased with our built-in wardrobes designed and built by TDL Woodcraft. We finally have finished decorating and they finish off the whole look of the room. Thomas designed them to replace existing (very dated) fitted wardrobes, taking our needs into account to create a really useable and beautiful storage space for us. We were delighted to have TDL back after Thomas and his team fit new interior doors to our downstairs living area, including putting in and plastering a new wall to partition a previously open-plan area. Thomas and his team are considerate, polite, and tidy workers providing a fantastic finish to their work. We have very happily recommended them to friends and family needing joinery work.

We purchased a bed for our toddler but was concerned that it was a bit too high for him so wanted to shave off a few cm's. We contacted TDL and they provided a great service. Ben built us a large bespoke utility cupboard with an adjoining dresser unit, made to match the style and colour of our existing kitchen units. He discussed our requirements, made suggestions, produced diagrams and worked around our builders. We have been very impressed with the quality of work. The soft-close drawers and shelves take a substantial weight of china and bottles! I would definitely recommend Ben and hope to use him again for other projects in the future.

We have had ChristelBall Joinery to do quite a bit of work for us at our house since we moved and we can't speak highly enough of them. The quality of their craftsmanship is excellent and the price was very good. Friendly service,clean,tidy & always turn up on time. In the kitchen we had them fit our engineered oak flooring,tri-fold oak doors,cottage style oak pantry door,new skirting and architrave,stud work with over boarding to create 2nd level ceiling for the extension and finally fitting the new kitchen including solid oak work tops. They were also able to make us matching solid oak window sills to match the worktops. We think it looks great and have had so many positive comments on it from friends and neighbours. Since then they have been back again to build our chimney breast TV unit/wall,fitted units with oak tops in the alcoves either side and an oak shelf under the TV for our soundbar. New skirting all round and a second oak cottage style door with matching oak window sill was also fitted. They've really helped us realise what we wanted to do with the downstairs of our house and we can't recommend them highly enough. It looks better than we ever could have hoped for. Later this year we will be starting upstairs and will 100% be using ChristelBall joinery for our wardrobes and any other joinery work we need.
