I was passed Billy’s details as a recommendation for a magnet kitchen I was having installed. Dealing with Billy has been refreshing and easy. He’s honest, provided great advice, explaining clearly the process regarding the full project, he has consulted me fully throughout and been extremely reliable. I automatically felt I could trust Billy and the team and would not hesitate in using and recommending Shire Joinery in future! Needless to say, the kitchen has turned out great, surpassing all expectations! The trades people Billy works alongside have all been excellent too.

Billy finished fitting our new Magnet kitchen last week and it looks amazing! He sorted the other subcontractors so it was all stress free and it was a pleasure having him for the week or so. It was a small space to work around so I appreciate how careful and considerate he was, and did a great job of tidying up after. We couldn't recommend Billy more! He recently fitted our kitchen and did an incredible job. He was very attentive and thorough, he checked with us every step of the way and was happy to help out with other odd jobs that came up. He also recommended and orchestrated all other work we needed doing (electrics, plumbing and plastering) and worked to resolve any hiccup that came up, meaning we had very little to look after and worry about. On top of this, Billy has been popping in when needed to finish jobs after other work has been completed to make sure everything is to the highest standard and has been lovely to be around. Dan did such a fantastic job in our lounge, building us 2 beautiful alcove cupboards, 4 floating shelves and a superb fireplace surround and mantelpiece all in solid oak. We were so impressed that we also got him to make a bespoke unit for our vinyl and turntable.. Throughout the whole process, including navigating the covid lockdown, Dan gave us great ideas and guidance but really listened to what we wanted. He turned up when he said he would. He finished on time and was very competitively and fairly priced. Dan is also just a very nice guy who you feel confident about leaving in your house. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dan to any friends or family and cannot praise the quality and finish of his work highly enough.

Dan did an incredible job installing our understairs shoe storage and bar—10 out of 10! His attention to detail was second to none, and he went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He even got on well with our cat, who constantly tried to "help" by getting in the way! After we painted the cupboards, Dan kindly popped back to fit the handles, which was much appreciated. We had five quotes for this job, and Dan delivered twice the work for half the price. Highly recommend!

We've been struggling off and on for a few years with coving that runs above some shelving either side of a chimney breast and eventually one section fell off completely. So we decided we had to resolve this once and for all, we'd seen some potential options online and started looking around for a suitable trade person to solve this problem. We eventually found Carl at Cookridge Carpentry and his response was prompt and positive. Following a couple of 'false starts' we finally hit on a solution that we could proceed with when he provided a rough dummy. Carl turned up when he said he would and grafted really hard to make sure we reached the result we were looking for. His work was very clean and tidy with little mess, which was surprising. He also spent plenty of time cleaning up after himself on both days. Both local and quality result... winner! We would have no hesitation in recommending Cookridge Carpentry for appropriate work, very professional throughout.

Tony fitted our kitchen a couple months ago and it's still my favourite room in the house. What we thought was a quick switcheroo when we bought our new home turned out to be a lot more work than planned. I am honestly still amazed at how much Tony did and how near and tidy his workmanship (especially considering he was flying solo). Excellent joinery - Tony built a toy storage book nook under our stairs, a bespoke fitted wardrobe and 3 floating shelves. The service was excellent, he created unique beautiful pieces with skill (especially in our uneven cottage) and he assembled and fitted them in just a few days. Friendly, professional. We have had ChristelBall Joinery to do quite a bit of work for us at our house since we moved and we can't speak highly enough of them. The quality of their craftsmanship is excellent and the price was very good. Friendly service,clean,tidy & always turn up on time. In the kitchen we had them fit our engineered oak flooring,tri-fold oak doors,cottage style oak pantry door,new skirting and architrave,stud work with over boarding to create 2nd level ceiling for the extension and finally fitting the new kitchen including solid oak work tops. They were also able to make us matching solid oak window sills to match the worktops. We think it looks great and have had so many positive comments on it from friends and neighbours. Since then they have been back again to build our chimney breast TV unit/wall,fitted units with oak tops in the alcoves either side and an oak shelf under the TV for our soundbar. New skirting all round and a second oak cottage style door with matching oak window sill was also fitted. They've really helped us realise what we wanted to do with the downstairs of our house and we can't recommend them highly enough. It looks better than we ever could have hoped for. Later this year we will be starting upstairs and will 100% be using ChristelBall joinery for our wardrobes and any other joinery work we need.

Chris fitted a new wardrobe with drawers into the room, replacing an old in built wardrobe. I asked for wardrobes that were flush to the existent wall and a minimalist look and the result is exactly what I invisioned. The measurements are perfect and the wardrobes blend in with the wall from the side view. The doors and drawers are fitted with magnetic push to open locks that give a smooth finish. Chris gave excellent communication and kept to schedule, as planned. I would recommed to anyone wanting a custom design and skilled craftmen ship.

I wanted to replace my modern UPVC door with one more in keeping with my house. Adam helped me find an original door in the right size, then cut it to fit, sorted out locks and door furniture, made a frame and installed it for me. It's perfect and I couldn't be more thrilled. Amazing work on our full wall fitted shelves from start to finish, Adam helped us with design and did all the hard work on this great build and installation. We're so happy with the results. I commissioned a cabin bed, with a separate desk underneath, for my son. When it was finished, and in place, I had no idea it would be so AMAZING!!! I knew it would be good, but when I saw the lovely different textures and colours of the wood, the clever joints as the bed has no nails or screws-it looks so unique and beautiful, as does the desk. Adam listened to what we wanted, and added ideas of his own, I would definitely recommend and will ask him to make more things for us🙂

This is the second time I’ve used Dave at Brownhirst Joinery to install my new kitchen and I didn’t even consider using anyone else! It was a much bigger job this time - including knocking down a wall to make my kitchen and living space open plan, re-routing pipes, re-plastering, reconfiguring internal door locations to comply with fire regs, installing new radiators, new flooring throughout and installing a beautiful new kitchen - as well as all the electrics & plumbing. Not only was it finished to incredibly high standards, Dave has a real eye for detail and made recommendations on layout and design to me along the way. He project manages everything end to end which is a huge benefit to the service he provides. And it was all completed in 3 weeks! Outstanding! We had a new staircase fitted by Brownhirst Joinery recently. Dave designed, manufactured and installed everything from start to finish. All the guy’s were friendly and polite and always left site clean and tidy at the end of day, any small change or problem was always dealt with straight away resulting in a great finished job.

We took David on to fit some new worktops and re tile our kitchen. The kitchen is an awkward shape and thus the accurate cutting and fitting of the worktops was absolutely key to the whole job. We had sourced the Oak worktops ourselves and it did not help David to find that one of the six sections was 'cupped' quite seriously, with all the sections over in width. David didn't let these problems, of my causing, bother him and just got on with his work which was undertaken for the most part single handed. He worked efficiently and quickly and once he had finished you could not tell where the previously cupped section of worktop had been fitted because the joints were so beautifully tight and perfect. I had to marvel at the accuracy and the finish achieved. David organised a separate tiling team to come in after him and these lads were top class also working speedily and accurately in order to complete the work in one day. I believe that he is mainly involved in kitchens but I would happily recommend David to anyone who is looking for a first class cabinet maker's finish to any wood working project. Will definitely use David again in the future. He was excellent in all respects. Peter Rodgers

We spoke with Brownhirst Joinery following a neighbour’s recommendation. Dave Hirst came and took time to understand our scope of works and offered some ideas and advice of how we could achieve it. We selected Brownhirst’s and we were really happy with the work carried out. Dave’s attention to detail and desire to make sure the job is of a high standard was really clear. He worked with us and continued to provide ideas and solutions. They manufactured a bespoke wine store for under our staircase and matching stair banister. (Pic). They also provided new oak doors, skirting and also designed and installed boot room cupboards which included a dog shower!! Overall a job really well done that we are really pleased with.
