Excellent meal and service here. All five in our group had different main courses and all were excellent; local produce, good portion sizes, and served hot! The fish pie was full of chunky fresh fish and seafood. Would recommend for a family meal out!
Upmarket country pub with a decent selection of 3-4 rotating hand pulled ales.
We've dined here many times and have had varying experiences but our latest meal was very good. Prices are on the high side for pub food but generally the quality of the dishes reflect the higher cost. The scotch egg was average but the pie was outstanding as was the pork.
Eaten in here three times now. The food has been top notch every time. Obviously well managed, the staff and service are very well organised.
Homely warm atmosphere. Outstanding quality food & drinks. Regular live events & seasonal/cultural celebrations (food festivals, bonfire celebrations etc... Dog friendly. Amazing in the summer on the open terrace sun trap with some antipasti or fresh mini loaf bread with olive oil & balsamic for dipping and a cocktail, Aperol Spritz or a G&T. Equally nothing better than an autumnal or winter stroll through the trails around Methley, then to The Boundary House, to dream your afternoon away relaxing with a Guinness in front of the open log burning fire.
My first visit and have to say it was beautiful. Beef bourguignon was amazing as was the venison pie. Both came with the best mash I’ve ever had. Service was outstanding. All our table was happy with their choices. We were so full after main courses so couldn’t manage a dessert but will definitely book again. 👍
