Mel and the nurses are fantastic..My ex feral cat has been very well looked after since his adoption thanks in great part to this veterinary surgery. He's been coming here for over 7 years for his checkups and occasional health issues. Judging by what I have seen with my cat, who still is shy, shy cats will benefit from Mel's calm and kind soft spoken manner.

We have been using Mel, Karen and all the other wonderful vets and nurses at Halian for about 14 years now with both our cat Lucky and latterly dog, Poppy. They are all super friendly, caring and knowledgable, always having the best interests of pets first. We can’t recommend them highly enough. P&C.

My boy Joe has passed today at the age of 17 he has had an amazing life with out the amazing staff and vets at Halian I believe this would not have been made possible to be the best family member anyone could want !!!! I could not recommend Dr Karen at Halian Vets enough. She’s thorough, informative and patient and clearly loves her animals. She’s a real credit to Halian!

We were referred to Hammond Vets by the Royal Vet College after our pet chicken suffered a prolapse earlier this week. Although it was pretty obvious that nothing could be done to help her, I honestly think the same care would have been given if she were a prized racehorse. The compassion shown to my son (who hand reared her) was wonderful and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

Lauren came out to check our pony after she had been lame for sometime. Her kindness and compassion towards Rosie was extremely reassuring. Her explanation was very straightforward and unhurried. Lauren cane up with various options for us to consider. We never felt pressured, just informed. I would certainly recommend her.

We had Cassie attend an out of hours call out and she was brilliant throughout! She explained every step of what needed to be done, she saw nothing as an obstacle and remained professional and realistic! Highly recommend and thank you for all your help!

Excellent, we have used Hammonds vets on multiple occasions for many of our fury children. My elderly grandmother with mobility issues called me today extremely upset that her beloved elderly chihuahua was very unwell. They attended her home quickly and with great professionalism and compassion peacefully put her dog to sleep. Thank you so much for being so kind.

Such a wonderful practice. All staff are so welcoming and compassionate. We have had 2 dogs as ‘clients’ of theirs and you can tell they truly love animals. This is so important as they always have their best interests in mind in all that they do!

Fantastic vets and nurses. Our beloved Labrador received excellent care when she suffered a spinal injury recently. She is doing very well thanks to their prompt care and referral to a specialist vet. They are all friendly and provide top quality care. 100% recommend.

Have been with them for about a year now but today my French bulldog had her tooth out and they were so thorough and have provided me with so much information! Thank you for making Binky feel safe and for reassuring myself!

Took Henry my old rescue African Pygmy Hedgehog who wasn’t eating, nor drinking, losing weight and being sick to this vets. Decided to give this new practice a try following a most helpful talk with one of the practise Veterinary Nurses. James, the vet who we saw, was so professional but so caring. He ran tests and gave me the results while we were there. After thoroughly examining my little spiky friend James explained options for treatment and we decided upon antibiotics and meds to try to settle the tummy problem. He even took time to show me how to administer the meds at home. This may be a new practice but I cannot recommend them highly enough for their care, professionalism and knowledge. Henry seems to be on the mend now. Thank you all.

The Marshalwicks team are professional, helpful and empathetic. They have done everything they can for our very poorly doggy over the past year. We are thankful for the care he continues to receive.

Hi, we lost out beautiful golden retriever, Maddy on the 15th March. I want to say a huge Thankyou to a member of your team. Rosie, from be greeted by her to make the treaded appointment and her taking me though the steps of what was to come. She was warm and friendly and very understanding On the day itself again she made the process so much easier, she really highlights the importance of the front of house. Definitely a five-star for this veterinary clinic. Dr James was incredible with a very anxious. His diagnosis approach and check ups are very meticulous. All the staff were very welcoming and caring. We feel very lucky to have found such a practise.

Took our family cat of 18 years here today to be sent off peacefully due to a long term illness, thanks to Cats Protection and Icknield Veterinary for their help and doing what they had to do. Icknields Vets is Brilliant, unbelievable Great Service, plus Treats on Exit, we have all loved it for many years, being 6 Generations of Chocolate Labrador Retrievers, plus our Owner likes it, as well, driving us all there, when needed.

My cat Albus was very poorly & Village Vet worked tirelessly to diagnose & treat him. He was in their hospital all weekend & the vets (Jennifer D & Anna) kept me informed of his condition throughout the weekend, and they were compassionate & kind to me (as a very distressed pet owner!) I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this vet surgery

I can't fault them. They managed to register and fit my cat in late on a Saturday afternoon before they went in to out of hours. The vet was wonderful and explained everything including payment and claims. Etta is now with them overnight after breaking a toe (of all things lol) and they have updated me as promised. I have been looking for a good vet since moving here not too long ago. We will be staying.

Easy to get a booking. Short waiting time. I’m a return customer and the friendly staff greeted my dog by name on arrival. Professional yet warm Vet talked through options before we agreed a treatment. Highly recommend. Like nothing else I’ve ever experienced at another UK Vet practice!

Vet station vet was really good with my tuxy boy recently when he needed a little check up for some flea meds; she also administered a worming tablet - which is some feat as he can be a spicy boy! With this vet (our first time seeing her), the down the throat part was over in seconds and just left my boy swishing his tail a little 😺 Match 20th 2025: Update - Marissa the vet is always lovely and yesterday seeing her again with my Tuxy boy cat and how she so easily administers his worming tablet, was a pleasure to see! She always makes time for a chat and catch up plus to check on how my cat is doing after having had x9 teeth out last year! The Vet Station are friendly kind professional and do not try to charge ‘extras’. Best vets ever ~ thank you!"

Really great vets. I always feel like they actually care about my pets and not just the money. We took our kitten Olive in for her first injection and everyone was friendly and really helpful.

I can thoroughly recommend this practice, which we have been using for four years with our cat. The reception staff are kind and helpful and the vet and vet nursing staff are caring and thorough. It feels like a small practice in the way that the staff get to know you and your pet. The range of services and payment plans they provide are useful, and the 24 hour vet service in Watford is also fantastic. Thank you.

Vet showed care and consideration for my dog and myself when we visited and subsequently when my dog required admission for treatment. He has remained in the veterinary hospital for the past five days and will continue to be cared for until fully recovered. I am delighted with the service received from minute one. For someone who's new to the Vet's world, I couldn't ask for a more personalised and humane attention. I had so many doubts when we brought our 8-week kitten home that I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. Gus exceeded my expectations explaining everything I needed to know and beyond. Rachel was also fantastic before and after my visit. Seeing how professional the team is puts my mind at ease. I also chose the health care plan because it's great value for money.
