My car developed a coolant leak, a common problem for higher mileage examples of this model. I took it to my tried and trusted garage who quickly diagnosed that the whole coolant housing inc pump needed replacing which would cost close to £1000. When questioned, they said they have seen this many times and were sure this was the root cause. Given the very high estimated price, I had to get a second opinion so took it to Harpenden Auto Services. The team took their time to diagnose the problem correctly by pressure testing the coolant system. They concluded it was most likely just a hose connector, so best to start with that and keep an eye on the issue. This would only cost £130 to fix. Once the work was done, I was still a little concerned about the temperature rising too quickly, so took my car back the next day. They took it out for a drive with the OBD reader connected, providing actual temp readings, to check and reassure me that all was working okay. It's been about a month since I had this work carried out and all seems well. I can't recommend this garage enough, not only did they save me around £900, their honesty and thoroughness in both diagnosing and fixing the issue is invaluable and hard to find.

I've had various cars over the years and have always taken them to Bob and the team, who have looked after them expertly , with great efficiency, and have never disappointed in any way. They are thorough and leave no stone unturned, no short cuts ! I would always use them, and have no hesitation in recommending them.

After a disastrous experience at a previous garage, we were so lucky to find this place. My son's much loved but elderly sports car needed a lot of work doing to it but is now back in tip top condition again. Their attention to detail for annual maintenance is superior to that offered by most larger garages but where they really have an edge is in problem resolution and here their experience shows. I went to this garage when my number plate fell off my car whilst visiting an elderly relative. I was a long way from home and turned up to see if they could help. They were wonderful. Fixed it straight away and refused any payment. Quality of work, customer service and kindness show great work ethic and attention to detail. I can't thank them enough and would definitely recommend them to others.

This is the kind of garage that we all want to have locally. Honest, thorough and knowledgeable. They serviced my daughter's Mini and not only was it a proper service - the kind where the car actually feels better afterwards(!) but they highlighted some issues that I (as Dad) would want to be aware of - tyres, battery, slight oil leak - and recommended what should be done and what can wait without being a safety issue. Had two tyres fitted the price was within a £5 of the cheapest online retailer and I would have had to have taken it there - so easy decision to get changed whilst they were servicing the car. Lots of communication throughout the day - absolutely superb garage.

Following a rescue by the AA I parked my car in front of Victoria Garage’s gate in the hope they could fix it. Despite being super busy and dealing with staff illness they managed to fit me in and fixed my car in less than a day! They charged me a very decent price and did an excellent job.

After taking to a garage elsewhere (that did a shocking job), I visited Harpenden Mill. My car was instantly diagnosed, a price was quickly established, the mechanics were in regular contact and had my car back on the road really quickly. On top of this both the mechanics I dealt with were top blokes, and even rang a couple of weeks later to see how the car was doing. The car now drives exactly as it did when I bought it five years ago and I’m chuffed to bits.

Such a friendly and helpful garage. Recently had our MOT done here and they were super quick and communication was great. Just now they helped me out due to my engine coolant warning symbol having turned on during my morning journey. In my panic, with a crying newborn in the car, I just turned up at 8am and they welcomed me in and topped me up and didn't let me pay them when I tried. A massive help given I didn't really know what I was doing and didn't own any coolant but needed to use the car/get home!! Definitely recommend!!!

Booked an MOT online - quick and easy. Dropped my car off at 08:30 and it was ready to collect at 09:15. Far quicker and much more easy than the main dealer (Audi). Staff very polite and friendly.
