We used Acorn Tutors upon numerous recommendations during the unfortunate COVID-19 lockdown of 2020. Once it was clear that the Year 6 SATS were not going ahead we utilised Tom's experience and professionalism for twice weekly Zoom lessons for our son in preparation for starting Year 7 at a new much larger secondary school. Tom's professionalism and 'buddy' approach chats really helped him, and ourselves, through a difficult and frustrating time. Whenever they finished their lessons our son was full of confidence and spoke very highly of his methods. He never once complained before a scheduled lesson, so that alone is testament to Tom's services. Thanks again. We will definitely call on Acorn Tutors services going forward. Highly recommended.

Tom from Acorn Tutors has made learning fun for our son. As a typical boy getting him to sit down and study was always a challenge, however he never complained once about working with Tom to prepare for his SATs. In-fact he was even happy to have tutoring sessions during the holidays.... Tom has worked with our child for a year leading up to her SATs and we've been very impressed with his ability to work at her speed and keep her engaged every lesson. We feel incredibly fortunate to have had Naeem as a tutor for my son for 11+ exams. He is very much organised, communicative and patient. Naeem is a fantastic tutor he taught my daughter to pass the 11+ and we continued afterwards in just maths of which she achieved an academic scholarship with 99% showing working for each maths question of which the head rang us personally as she was so impressed with her maths of which was her weakness before being tutored by Naeem. It was our good fortune to have had Mr Naeem as a tutor for our daughter. We had explored several training institutes before we met Naeem. His approach is brilliant, his lessons are Calm, focussed and supportive. His lessons kept our daughter engaged and interested, so much so, on her last session she asked him if he tutored GCSEs. I cannot ask for more than a fantastic tutor. They are beautifully teaching my daughter what to expect in her year group. They know what to expect in SATS exams and teach accordingly. The tutor is adjusting according to our flexible time. I can ask them to teach if my child is weak in any topic and they are happy to teach over again. Yasmine deserves a huge amount of recognition and thanks for the work she has done with our daughter in preparation for her maths GCSE. Despite my husband being a total maths buff and trying repeatedly to help with our daughter's understanding, it just wasn't working and we turned to A Helping Hand. Fantastic tutor. My daughter is quite shy and has always struggled with maths as she is dyslexic. Yasmine really managed to bond with her and my daughter always came out smiling after her session with Yaz. We have had Yasmine all the way through my daughters gcse yrs and it really made her more confident in maths and I think she enjoyed the subject much more with the extra help from Yasmine. My wife and I engaged Janet's Target Tutoring services for our daughter commencing from January 2020.  The primary aim was to prepare her for entrance exams for 3 independent schools to be taken in January 2021 but also to supplement her ongoing Year 5 education as well. My daughter enjoyed the sessions immensely and these have helped her both develop her academic abilities across the board and grow in confidence as a result.  Janet works very well in creating a team environment in her tutoring, as my daughter felt supported throughout her sessions.  We also found Janet to be excellent at communicating throughout the disruption wrought by the pandemic, keeping us updated and also working with children, when she was able to, to the safest possible environment.  Outside of these periods of disruption, Janet was adept at concentrating on key areas given sessions were lost to lockdown and also having a regular dialogue (being very responsive on email) as to the aims and objectives of sessions. My daughter found the expert guidance on entrance exam preparation to be especially valuable, particularly with regards to number codes and English comprehension, which feature very strongly in most entrance exams and can often prove challenging to children   My daughter's ability to solve number code puzzles logically and quickly is truly impressive. In terms of Janet's tutoring, the proof is in the pudding, as they say: my daughter received offers from all 3 schools and commences her secondary education at her first choice school in September 2021.  As you would expect, my family cannot recommend Janet highly enough.

My daughters have had tutoring since 2018 from Target Tutoring where they have progressed over the years with excellent tutoring and guidance from Janet. Term by term, I have seen my daughters achieve great results from Janet's teaching methods and also her attention to detail has played an important role in their progression. This is evident from Janet providing detailed scheduled reports that have always been clear and spot on. Clearly, Janet has been able to identify my childrens' weaknesses and has been able to tackle these issues inline with the schools' curriculum. I would like to thank Tom for all the support he gave me during my A level Biology course. I achieved an A in my A level Biology exam. The A level Biology group lessons were very informative. Along with the information provided in the lesson, Tom used active recall to test us on our knowledge and engaged us in the lesson which deepened my understanding and retention of A level Biology concepts. Furthermore, when we answered long question types we would use an interactive whiteboard to answer the questions, and he would regularly check our work and provide areas of improvement for our answers. Brilliant tutors have so far truly lived up to its name. My daughter is currently enrolled and preparing for 11+. She started in year 5 and I was a bit concerned as a lot of the children start much earlier, given the level of competition. Monica has been extremely approachable from the onset. She has been so supportive, she willingly gave my daughter all the extra time she needed so that she can come up to speed. She is very positive, encouraging and motivating to the children while also maintaining the level of discipline required. We had tried two other very renowned classes in the Earley area but my daughter did not enjoy as their style of teaching was not engaging enough and they failed to understand each child and their potential. Whereas Monica knows every child and their strengths and weaknesses. She doesn’t run the class like a business but has a real love for teaching and that shows in every interaction we’ve had with her. My daughter liked this class from the very first one and has not looked back, she’s doing quite well now in her tests so far. Most importantly, she’s happy which is essential for healthy learning. My son thoroughly enjoyed attending Brilliant Tutors. The staff were engaging and knowledgeable, with plenty of little rewards along the way to aid motivation. Regular testing and extensive preparation meant my son was really not worried about sitting his 11 plus test. Monika is very approachable and available to answer questions and help when needed. Parental support is expected, but all resources are provided, with clear answers for marking all homework.
