We used Acorn Tutors upon numerous recommendations during the unfortunate COVID-19 lockdown of 2020. Once it was clear that the Year 6 SATS were not going ahead we utilised Tom's experience and professionalism for twice weekly Zoom lessons for our son in preparation for starting Year 7 at a new much larger secondary school. Tom's professionalism and 'buddy' approach chats really helped him, and ourselves, through a difficult and frustrating time. Whenever they finished their lessons our son was full of confidence and spoke very highly of his methods. This company was recommended to me by several friends and I highly recommend them too. I have been using Acorn Tutors for over a year to support my children (12 and 10) with Maths and Literacy. The quality of the teaching is excellent, with innovative methods and clever use of technology to engage and enable children. The rapport that the tutor has built with my two (who are very different learners) is based on empathic understanding of children, and obviously a sound knowledge of psychology! I like that the tutor also took the time to email the children's teachers to liaise with them.
