Janet has been a fantastic tutor for my son this year. The group English Language sessions worked really well for him and he preferred this to 1 to 1. Each half term he completed a past paper and Janet gave detailed feedback on how he could improve. He also took part in a selection of English Literature sessions nearer to the exams. He achieved 7s in both Language and Literature which helped him to secure his place at sixth form. I would definitely recommend Janet. Her extensive knowledge of the exams and how they are marked and graded really helped my son to focus on what he needed to do to improve.

Janet has helped my daughter with GCSE English Literature for a couple of months before her exams. Even though my daughter's exam board is EdExcel and Janet teaches AQA, she was able to provide feedback to my daughter specifically. My daughter found Janet approachable, patient and supportive and wished she could have taught EdExcel language and not AQA! My daughter's Literature grade was certainly improved from Janet's help, she got an 8 when she was predicted a 6! We wish we found Janet sooner!

Janet is a wonderful English tutor. She has helped my daughter through her GCSEs and has given her confidence in a subject that she found difficult. The group lessons were relaxed and supportive with immediate feedback. Each lesson was followed up with comprehensive notes and the feedback on the homework is very detailed and helpful. Janet is very engaging with her students and through her enthusiasm makes the subject enjoyable. I have recommended her to friends and will use her tutoring services again in the future.

An absolutely first class experience for both our son as tutee and us as parents. Janet coached our son to a level of achievement two grades higher than predicted in both English Language and English Literature, over a period of about 4 months. Of course, we are all delighted. What is more difficult to evidence is the collateral benefit in other subjects which involved more general essay writing and interpretation of questions. Her ability to boost his confidence had benefits across the board. What summed it up was our son's comment to Janet when feeding back his grades, that his only regret was not having her as a tutor for longer. Enough said!
