Betsy was a great help preparing my twins for the 11+. We designed a plan and sometimes worked in a small group with other children.
This really helped improved my daughter’s confidence as the working exercises were difficult sometimes and questions needed to be broken down in steps.

Betsy has worked out to be a tremendous tutor for our daughter. They’ve been working together really well for over a year and have developed a trusting and happy relationship. Our daughters maths skills have rapidly improved - working on the basics has certainly built up her confidence and she now tackles problems she’d otherwise have been nervous of.
They’re working solidly towards the 11+ exams in a few months time and will be starting to work on English skills in the coming weeks.

Betsy tutored my son in both Maths and English. I highly recommend her and found her to be very warm, approachable and caring. She was very good with my son and got to know him well very quickly, tweaking her sessions with him to really help him progress. She's absolutely lovely!

Betsy’s been working with our year 2, 6 year old son for 6 months now & the results have been awesome. He was stressed and miserable throughout year 1; would come home crying because he didn’t even know how to hold a pencil, and had virtually no idea what he was supposed to be doing in the classroom. Within 5 minutes of the first tutor session I could see the first of many eureka moments for him as Betsy helped him make sense of things. It was such a massive relief for him and us to see that he could do it!! The progress has continued in handwriting, maths and literacy, and his confidence has grown - the kid who wrote (according to teachers) 4 words in a 40 minute independent writing task a few months back, today spontaneously sat & wrote a coherent paragraph about a half term outing! And he clearly enjoys the sessions which we couldn’t have imagined given how negative he was about school. Both myself & partner agree it’s the best thing we’ve ever done for our son.
