We need 5 doors replaced and a new doorway created. Paul removed old the old doors and replaced them with new oak doors. Also created a new door way for the new door and did some repairs to the cabin in our garden. He was always very friendly and helpful throughout with suggestion to overcome some unforeseen problems. Highly recommended.

Paul replaced two rotten window cills in out downstairs. Everything was done well and to time and there were no issues. Price is good and work is good. Efficient and accurate and timely. Good job, well done.

The experience from start to finish has been fantastic! I was given a really reasonable quote, and though additional costs were added (due to extra work which needed to be carried out) these were also really reasonably priced and I was kept well informed about it before the work was carried out. I'd also discovered what can only be described as a nightmare of hidden pipework under the old larder (before work was due to be carried out), and though my own worries about this caused delays with the work starting, Lewis was really supportive in addressing this and was really quick to respond to all of my concerns. Garath fitted my new cabinets, moved my extractor fan/boxing, replaced my windowsill and also worked on a few extra areas in the kitchen and I'm honestly impressed with how good it all looks! All his work has been topnotch and throughout the process he was always polite and took the trouble to answer any questions I had. Work was also finished really quickly which was a bonus! My thanks to you both - can't recommend highly enough!

Lewis advised and replaced the bannisters on our stairs. He did a great job and was polite and courteous. I will be using his services again…. And I did, this time to replace all our internal doors with oak ones. Craig and Garath did an amazing job; they were really friendly and polite and left no mess.

BM Carpentry and Building did some work do or me recently (Sept 2023) at my house, to repair and replace some rotten woodwork around my French door and adjacent windows. Brett and Wes did a great job. They came out and discussed it in detail with me first, then subsequently came out and completed the job in a single day. The work done was of good quality, at a fair price and they left things clean and tidy. I had used their services previously once before, a couple of years ago on a bigger job when I was having my house re-roofed and had the same very positive experience then. BM Carpentry and Building recently reconstructed our kitchen, dining room and hallway into a modern spacious kitchen diner, including replacing double glazed rear door and two windows. We are very pleased with the finished spacious room. BM Carpentry and Building employed supporting specialist tradesmen who were also very professional. As a result of the great experience, we are having fury work by them. We would highly recommend them.

BM carpentry and building carried out our loft conversion and we really couldn’t be happier. The entire project - from initial conversations - until the final completion was so professional and the end result is perfect. Brett communicated clearly with us at each step and was very patient when explaining what needed to be done at each stage and what we should expect. We felt Brett really cared about our views and whether we were happy and he was fully committed to completing in the time frame he had laid out for us. We had great trust in Brett and his team and have used the company a few times for building or carpentry work and are planning on using them again.

Updating my review following a second job completed by Pete and Andy - excellent job again, and can thoroughly recommend - the work that they do is of the highest quality, but they are also very good post-completion at coming back for any snagging - have always felt everything is well communicated and have stuck to quoted prices. A few friends of ours recommended Bassett Carpentry for our kitchen extension. We couldn’t be happier with the work and would recommend them to anyone else. Our extension was not straight forward but Andy & Pete were so easy to deal with. They were honest and upfront with costs, and kept to the agreed price plans. Their team who completed the electrics and plumbing were also superb. We were very nervous as this was our first project, but Bassett Carpentry exceeded all expectations and did the perfect job. Andy and Pete, with Nick and Graham, carried out our loft conversion this year and we are so happy with their work. What we liked best was their time-keeping (they ran exactly to schedule) and costing (they ran exactly to quote, except for some extras that we requested). As important was their pleasantness in working with. They are very courteous, great communication, and any problems were listened to carefully and a sensible solution found. Our project was quite large (dormer L-shape loft conversion, complete reroof, chimney repoint, 2 new bathrooms and fitted cupboards and wardrobes). Their workmanship is of a very high standard and we strongly recommend them.

We are very happy with Jonny's mastery in carpentry. He's helpful, punctual, tidy and very quick. We will be calling him for more projects shortly and I'd definitely recommend him for anyone in the area. He has also got a great personality, which is a big plus for any tradesperson!

Jonny fitted nine doors at my house last year. Firstly he is a really nice guy, secondly he is a good carpenter, and lastly nothing is too much trouble. For example I wanted to instal the old doors at my daughters and Jonny took them all over there for me in his van. I was very satisfied with the workmanship, he has the right tools, knows how to use them, and the end result has lifted the whole house. He did most of the cutting outside to reduce the dust inside, but hey its wood working and it makes some sawdust. I thoroughly recommend Jonny, he has good attention to detail, cleans up after himself, will happily adjust anything once it’s fitted, and his prices are competitive.

Highly recommend Jonny. His work is brilliant, he is reasonably priced, punctual and polite. He recently built a cabinet and shelves for me from scratch and the results are fantastic. We spoke briefly about what I wanted to achieve, and he immediately came up with recommended solutions and then smashed through the work. Anytime I need carpentry services in future, I will 100% be phoning Jonny, which is probably the best thing I can say!

Tim built us this amazing shed extension onto our existing summer house. The picture doesn't do it justice but it's basically bomb proof! He opened up the summer house so we can use the additional space for shed stuff, and put up a new internal insulated wall. His craftsmanship is top notch and he worked very hard. Thanks Tim!

I once walked past Tim’s business and he was making a lovely tree house for some lucky children. My son was needing a cabin bed to make the most of the space he has in his room and whilst I found a few around they were either too tall, too long or too flimsy. I approached Tim and showed him the design I was after but with some tweaks. He arranged a time to come round and measure up, making sure it’d fit and importantly fit up the stairs. We discussed materials and finish, as well as the nice touch of a small shelf for a nightlight, book and water bottle. Tim took the time to go over everything as well as suggesting varnishes etc. When it was ready Tim popped by and assembled it in the morning before my son got home that evening. It’s meant my son can now have his computer in his room for homework and gaming as well as the Xbox. There’s some nice shelves where he can put his books, Warhammer models and various bits and bobs. His desk chair can fit underneath, though he mainly uses his beanbag. You just can’t get that from a shop made cabin bed with the ceiling height he’s got. There’s some cable tidying to do! You can tell Tim loves what he does and takes immense pride in his work. I’m quite envious of him for that. When my son came home he was surprised by it and called me the best dad in the world. So thank you Tim!

We’re so delighted with the bed Tim built for Sophie, it is exactly what we wanted. It’s beautifully designed and constructed. Tim is so efficient, skilful and tidy and clearly takes pride in his work. The price was really reasonable and Tim was very happy to listen to our ideas and adapt things accordingly. Booked Mark to fit 4 internal doors after he did such a great job fitting a kitchen worktop for us. Mark arrived on the day agreed, on time. Measured the individual frames (all different sizes!), removed the old doors, cut the doors to size, fitted the door handles & added an additional hinge for each door. During his visit, Mark was friendly, professional & tidied up after he'd finished the job. He cut the old doors in half to make it easier for me to dispose of them. And he took away some wood that needed to be edged / bevelled as he didn't have the tools woth him and returned it a couple of days later which I will be making into a table. New doors look great (still need to be painted though) & fit perfectly. Another great job by Mark. Again, woud happily recommend Mark for your woodwork needs. Thanks Mark.

We highly recommend Mark Lloyd. His work is outstanding and precise. A true craftsman. Nothing too much trouble. Clean and tidy. We had new oak balustrades and newel posts. Also wood panelling as you can see in the photos.

Mark came to refurb our staircase and has done an excellent job! Took care and tried to work us as we have toddler who naps. Explained the job as he went along and cleaned up along the way. I would highly recommend Mark!
