I had a problem with my drains and was recommended Alan, who i phoned and he came out within a few hours. Sorted my problem and got in touch with the appropriate people who i had had problems with and sorted that as well . Would highly recommend him and definitely use him again

Alan recently provided leak detection services for me including invasive access. The team spent a considerable amount of time both on the phone prior to booking and whilst at the property discussing the issue and to establish potential causes before removing floors. The job investigation was completed faster than expected and most importantly my property was treated with absolute respect, to the point where its hard to tell the reinstated floor was even taken up. Alan even reduced the quote to account for the shorter time on site. He also offered advice regarding dealing with insurers before having the job confirmed. I would have absolutely no hesitating in recommending 1st Porter call based on today experiences and will be using them again for any future requirements. Thanks Alan and team

From the very start James was always on time, responsive to every call and reliable. One of the most professional trades people I have met - ensuring the work area was tidied every single day, to changing his plans to suit when our bathroom design changed. Never made a fuss even if some of the workload increased and took any issues in his stride. James kept us updated throughout the build with progress and anything he found which needed input he made sure he spoke to us to confirm. The standard of James’s work is extremely high and we now have a bathroom to be proud of. I cannot recommend James enough. I would gladly use him again and wish there were more like him out there.

James completed our bathroom this week and he has done an outstanding job. His levels of professionalism and workmanship are exceptional. He is very polite and was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble and he went above and beyond to ensure we got an excellent finish. There’s a reason why it’s so hard to book James! From start to finish, James is professional, friendly and, above all, he takes so much pride in his work. Upon visiting the company he recommended for the fixtures and fittings, it’s clear that he has earned a lot of respect from other professionals too. Our bathroom looks fantastic and the tiling is perfect. It was fascinating watching the whole process and especially the precision of his tiling work. I couldn’t have asked for a better result!

Mid-2021: In 2021, we had several plumbing jobs completed by James including fitting a kitchen tap, bathroom tap and fitting a sink waste. James came out and priced the work as agreed and came back with a competitive price. He arrived to do the work on time and did a brilliant job. Great communication, friendly, professional and all work done to a very high standard. Highly recommended. We're looking forward to him working on a bigger project later in the year. Late 2021: Well, our second project is complete and James has done a fantastic job. We are so pleased. Workmanship second to none. Another competitive price and all work to very high standard and on time. Every plumber should strive to be like James. Many thanks again. Look forward to you returning for project #3 in May 2022. Mid 2022: we’ve recently had James back to renovate our main bathroom. As with the cloakroom, James did a fantastic job. The work was completed professionally, to the quoted price and on time. As James encountered small problems imposed by our previous bathroom and non-square walls, he discussed options with us and the end result was fantastic. Cannot recommend enough.

Very happy with the work Paul completed for us today. An old lead pipe had sprung a small but worsening leak. We sent new forest plumbing 24/7 message on Saturday night and received a message back from Paul on Sunday saying he could come out on Monday morning. We sent a photo of the leaky pipe and he said he could sort it no problem despite it being an old lead pipe in a tight corner with no room to move. Paul started work immediately and job was done in just a couple of hours. Really happy with Paul and the quality of his work. Highly recommended!!

Needed a plumber fairly urgently as couldn't use either basin or bath due to a very blocked waste pipe. Paul arrived the next day and did a wonderful job of unblocking also replaced a very worn u-bend. A nice polite man will use him again if ever needed.

I used this company a couple of times recently- to fix a squealing toilet & repair a leak in another. Different engineers came out & both were brilliant! They explained what needed doing & why. Both were friendly yet professional & very efficient. One of the engineers came out twice (to assess the issue & then to repair it). On the second visit he remembered me saying that I only moved in a few months ago & he made sure I knew where my stop cocks were & how to use them (the information the previous owner left wasn't entirely clear!). He also answered other questions I had. Also, the office staff who I spoke to on the phone were excellent. Extremely helpful & ensuring that the jobs were booked in on suitable timescales. I thoroughly recommend this company & will certainly use them in the future. A real find.

I've used Ross multiple times now to do various plumbing jobs that I've had in the past. He's always been quick to come round to give a quote, which I've always found to be reasonable. I've never been messed around with dates, if he says he's coming to do the job on a day, he'll do the job, none of this making excuses and changing dates. The jobs have always been completed to a high standard without needing call backs unless a replacement part has failed in which case he's always been happy to come back. Would be happy to recommend.

Ross was great and super friendly! Had a leak from my water heater and he came in same day, identified the problem within a couple of minutes and ordered the parts. Before he left he fixed the leak so it didn’t continue to get the flat wet. Came back about a day later once the parts had come in and fixed the problem before his coffee had a chance to cool down! Very knowledgeable and charged a very good price. Would 100% recommend. Will be asking him to come back to help me with some other bits around the flat.

Thank you so much to Platinum Plumbing for helping us out on more than one occasion now. We had boiler issues over Christmas and despite their family being on a Christmas break, they went out of their way to come and fit a new boiler for us. They offered options, helping us pick a good deal to suit our budget. Definitely not a regular meal out for us but it was my 30th recently so treated ourselves. Very pleased we did! Everything we ate was lovely, the service was attentive but not at all overbearing and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. I would really recommend the wine pairing, not just because of the delicious wine but the stories and overall experience that came with it. She went through where the wine was from, the tasting notes you might find within and the reasons it was paired with the food you were eating which for me led to a greatly increased enjoyment of the combination.

We decided to travel down to Southampton to experience this up and coming chef. Daniel Rogan, whose father has three Michelin stars, clearly has some serious skills in the kitchen and a great pedigree. We arrived at the farm location. It was interesting driving the not made for off road car in the dark across the mud/gravel entrance to the farm. I was expecting to hit a pot hole but everything was smooth sailing. We parked up and found the entrance. A very unassuming wooden door. Upon entering we were greeted with a lovely smile from front of house. We were shown to our table which gave us an audience view of the open plan kitchen, like all the other tables. Overall the food was exquisite. And at £110pp can't be beaten for value, especially when comparing to London prices. Although this was not Michelin starred, if Daniel keeps going like this it surely must be in his future. The restaurant itself did feel like a village hall, but then you're on a farm. Not sure what other reviewers are expecting. Normally I go through each of the dishes but you can see the menu and all you need to know is that each dish complemented the preceding dish well. The Old Winchester Cheddar was our favourite, and the dessert was well worth waiting for. Service was good enough. Some servers way friendlier than others (shout out to the lovely blonde lady with glasses - sorry I can't remember your name!). We overall had a great experience. It was worth the 90 minute drive from London. I'm going to keep an eye on the seasonal menu changes and come down again to see how it's progressed.

Walked in to a lovely welcome, the staff behind the bar are extremely receptive and literally made us what we wanted (it was off menu) after ordering we had them brought to our table, a short while later after enjoying the dj we were given a complimentary shot that was a straight 9/10 . Really great place, I think it's just opened so definitely one to try! Edit We had breakfast here and it really didn't miss the mark. Friendly server really welcoming smile and great food, can't complain one bit

I recently decided to try Good Things. It was a Saturday, sun pouring through the window, a gentle southerly breeze, we were seated by the entrance and the staff were welcoming but it was not all good (🥁) sadly. We were offered water for the table which never arrived and our food took a while to arrive but we think it was due to a shortage of baguette rolls for the bahn mi sandwiches we ordered. I just wish we had been warned about a wait! I had the tofu bahn mi which looked impressive, but the tofu itself was quite bland under the katsu breading. The rolls also made eating the sandwich quite a challenge, so I'd probably prefer a less crusty roll. All in all, there are good things to be had at good things, but there is always room for improvement. Of course, this post is written with good humour in mind.

This is my favourite hang out spot now & hands down the best coffee in Hampshire. The staff are masters of coffee in the day & cocktail experts in the evenings. They are all extremely kind, welcoming & Southampton is very lucky to have them here. The food is also brilliant & I'm slowly making my way through the menu!

A terrific cafe tucked away on an industrial estate. Very nicely cooked breakfast at a great price. Staff very friendly and efficient. The seating is basic but good enough and the tables cleaned between guests. Well worth a visit if you're nearby.

First visit this morning. Very cheap prices here and the food looked very good! Only had a black coffee which was a cheap £2.50. Good to see it quite busy. I will try the food next time for sure
