Went for a catch up with an old friend. It was so busy being the festive period. However, the staff were making sure tables were cleared as soon as people vacated. The food was amazing and we took a quick look in the farm shop. I had to restrain myself in their cheese monger section. Amazing views out of the cafe with a decent outdoor area to boot. Will deffo be making a return trip in the future.

Ohhhhh Claire - the rules of engagement when unhappy with a service are: 1. Complain direct - public slaughter is, in all honesty, ineffectual yet bloody 2. Accept that customers aren't always right 3. NEVER virtue signal 4. Avoid the use of hyperbole We've eaten at Thorncliffe, buy all our meat etc, which makes us regulars I guess. Thorncliffe is a busy, throng-on experience, and the reason behind the busy is the fact that both cafe and shop provide excellent food and service. Anyone can check, via this app, whether Thorncliffe is busy, not busy, etc, thus allowing the customer control over when they visit. For my part the only time I've had a negative experience was down to a customer being an utter nuisance, not the staff. It wasn't you Claire. Highly recommend Thorncliffe - local, fantastic produce, pricing reflects the quality, friendly staff, all of which is why we frequently visit.

We live in Hertfordshire but we love our regular visits to Thorncliffe Farm Shop during our regular visits to Yorkshire. We always stock up on meat from the excellent butcher’s department and the pies are outstanding always fully filled and delicious, including both the fruit and meat varieties. It’s well located with plenty of parking. Staff are always very friendly and helpful.

Lovely breakfast, plenty of of it and well cooked! Great price and good service.

I stopped here for a good old English fry up after a few glasses the night before when visiting a friend who lives in the area. I would say It's getting harder to find good cafes these days that produce some much needed proper fried breakfasts and also do tinned tomatoes. An English breakfast isn't an English breakfast without tinned tomatoes! Nice location and easy parking, I would definitely recommend if you are in the area and wanting some tasty, very reasonably priced food, and when I say reasonably price, I mean the prices seem to not have changed since 1997.

Lovely little place, it's always a must for every school holiday treat and when we have friends and family gatherings. Highley recommended and they don't scrimp on the ice-cream. Lovely helpful staff. A big hit for our littlies because you can visit the calfs. Pre covid you could watch the cows being milked too.

Absolutely beautiful cakes and food, generous portions, we had meringue nest fresh fruit and cream and the tastiest moist chocolate fudge cake 😋 the staff were super friendly. Definitely be returning, we loved it there and you can see the cows and dairy farm attached from the outside 🐮

Stopped here for tea and cake by chance. So glad we did. Service was excellent. Lovely homemade cakes. We will definitely be back very soon to try more food.

Love this place. Took little one (age 5) for his first visit today, before getting an ice cream we popped up to the viewing gallery so he could see where the milk came from. He was very excited to watch the cows as they came and went, being prepared for milking and of course the milking itself. He then excitedly skipped round to choose his ice cream. A great adventure and learning activity for families.

Fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Simple and well decorated food. Not too fency food but just simple and fresh. They did great job in service. Polite and caring. Only down I felt - was a bit too expensive compared to the experience and the location + the prices are without VAT on the menu (pretty rare in the UK). Make sure you make some percentage extra on the bill.

Been here a few times. Great place in town where the food has always been fantastic in my opinion. I would say the lunch menu options are slightly limited with not the greatest selection but across both breakfast or lunch there’s a lot of tasty food. Good vibe and design to the place with a quieter upstairs. Most importantly the service and staff were fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. Thanks

Consistently first class service, food and drinks. A huge range of tea, which is served in a proper pot! Always served promptly and hot, even when busy. There’s a lovely friendly lady who must be the manager. She is on always the ball and accommodating.

Highly recommend for brunch/lunch. Had the goats cheese, beets and poached egg on sourdough. Daughter had the special sandwich of the day. Both fresh ingredients and very flavoursome. Yum. Nice choice not too overwhelming and great selection of hot and cold drinks. (Coffees and speciality teas etc) Beautiful cakes and brownies. We had the chocolate orange and pistachio.

First visit and will return. Excellent all round and the food was delicious. Bit trick with the winter sun through the windows as it impacted where to sit comfortably. Maybe blinds needed? Tea pots didn't keep the tea warm for long. Different pots or a tea cosy? Otherwise we loved it.

Finally visited for the first time today. Truly stunning place, excellent food and exceptional service. First class Second visit today - 2nd Jan 2025 … absolutely outstanding. Chose off the lunch menu and it was perfect. We were in the POD, lovely experience. Everything about this place is first class - we will be coming lots more! The staff, as always we’re perfect. Thank you LU’s Place.

Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us for my grandma's birthday lunch. We hired a VIP pod which they had added some lovely decoration to. There was also a dress up box for some fun, it was really toasty despite the weather outside and there was music playing. The staff were so friendly, and so attentive, and it was such a beautiful place to eat- the food was delicious too! Most of us were vegetarian and there was a decent range of options that we were all happy with, having checked out the menu online. It was the perfect meeting point between myself and the rest of my family, we will absolutely be going back! I might even bring my dog along next time ☺️

Great cafe, so much better than expected for a small off road option. Boutique vibe with very friendly staff. We arrived on Sunday at lunch time without a booking and were told they were fully booked out, luckily as we had travelled far to get there the staff were able to free up a table for us. The food was great, good price & freshly made. Lots of parking and dog friendly.

“Nice little cafe just wonted to see the cafe where there filmed last of the summer wine”
Rating: 5 / 5
A visit to Sid's Cafe here in lovely Holmfirth is an absolute must for all fans of the BBC TV longest running sitcom, 'Last of the Summer Wine.' I had a nice cup of tea, bought some super TV 'Summer Wine' character postcards and soaked up the rather special atmosphere of this very unique place! Nice, friendly staff and a very interesting and memorable picture and photographs display from this classic TV show. Thank-you. Loved it! Not to be missed! 🙂

A wonderful walk back in time and every bit the same as the remembered cafe from Last of the summer wine series. A quant little cafe with old fashioned charm. The food was delicious and tea served in nostalgic tea pots. The cafe is packed full of photos and memorabilia from the show and a large array of souvenirs can be purchased. A highlight was finding old fashioned dolly mixture sweets and stem ginger biscuits.

What a wonderful place to have afternoon tea! Staff are nothing but friendly and efficient. Proper northern hospitality in a warm and friendly cafe. The location and significance made my Dad very happy. I had a jam and cream scone, which was huge! With a great portion of clotted cream *drool* and my parents each had a bacon buttie cooked to their liking.

I love it ❤️ An absolute legend of TV history. With the sun beaming and smiling from everyone, it was great. The little courtyard was a joy. Parking around the centre of Holmfirth is sparce, so you have to be quick to find one and possibly pay for a while longer as there is loads to see and explore. We will be back to Holmfirth... ❤️

Great farm shop with foods from the farm and produce sourced locally. I particularly like the Cafe Food, English breakfast is just what you need to start the day. It has a butchery as well. Quality items, fresh eggs and much much more
